Rick's got it bad!!! He's tried getting Morty to kiss him on the lips while drunk. He thinks his love for Morty is toxic enough to rid himself of it. He cares around a photo of just him, not even one of his dead wife. He has Morty as his fucking password. Hell he even felt the need to clarify that he didn't wanna fuck him during Love Potion 9. He even proposed to Morty. This man wants he's grandson so bad it's embarrassing. He was so happy when Morty said that Evil Morty had a crush on him. Also straight up ran away with Morty leaving the rest of their family behind in the first season. He also said that their adventures were just a metaphor for a romantic relationship.

This might be a reach but in S6 E8 Analyze Piss when Rick over hears people saying "Who could relate to being that big of a peice of shit?" and clearly Rick had some sort of relatablity to it because he goes to check on Pissmaster. It's not exactly like him to be concerned about the well being of people he doesn't know who came to harass his family. He does this because he relates to that sentence, to being "The biggest peice of shit in the universe" and he Identifies with that somewhere inside him.

But here's the thing. Why is Pissmaster such a peice of shit according to everyone? It's not because he got the shit beat out of him. It's because he got the shit beat out of him for sexualizing a minor.

So here's what I'm thinking. and again this might be a reach. But I think the reason Rick shows an unusual amount of compassion to Pissmaster is because he thinks he relates to that.

AKA he has a shameful secretive sexual intrest in Morty

WHICH ties into S3 E6 Rest and Ricklaxation where Rick thinks his love for Morty is something toxic he needs to get rid of. YET Cleansed Rick still shows some sort of family affection when he says "I'm real proud to be your grandpa" which kinda suggests that Toxic Rick has a diffrent affection.
