Their bond had always been just siblings or at least, that’s what they told themselves. No boundaries crossed. No lines spoken aloud. Just the silence between glances. So when one of them found someone else (a lover, a partner, someone special) the other shattered quietly inside yet stood still and smiled politely…hiding everything they couldn’t say, and simply said, “Congratulations.” But deep down, in a corner too dark to admit to the light, the thought lingered:
‘One day… that person will die. Time will take them. And when it does… we’ll be together forever. Just us. Like it was always meant to be.’
