One of the biggest is the idea that "I'm too young to be used by God." That we "need to experience life" in order to be effectively used by God later in life. Well, this passage responds to those statements: "Your childhood is the time of life when God desires to build rooms of the temple in which He wants to live when you are an adult." This speaks to the unplanted fields in your heart. God is ready to plant seed and allow you to bare fruit in if you allow Him. We always talk about the process and how it's not for the swift well it surely isn't. It's starts from young. Take a look at David's journey in The Bible. David began as a young man in the fields tending to sheep. Youngest of his brothers, God began to plant the seeds, that would over the years become "growth" and "experience" (useful fruits), he would use when he was positioned as King over Israel. Don't think you have to "live" or "experience" the world some more to really "get" God OR your journey. Save yourself possibly (most likely) falling into sin or situations you don't need to be in. Your childhood/youth is a time of vibrance, ability, and exposure. Talk about perfect timing! Those three things leave you open to be enthusiastic, energized and open to the world of God, or other things. It's a time habits and relationships (especially with God) are formed for development and your gifts begin to unwrap. It is up to you to choose how you are going to use them. So "live a little". Matter of fact, live a whole lot. Allow God's faithfulness to turn your young life, into an example of what obedience looks like. Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct[a] your paths. Proverbs 3:5-6 (NKJV)
Love won.
Disagreement does not have to equal hate.
FINALLY ITS BEEN SAID
A tree is still a tree in a meadow of cornflowers. -- It's okay if you feel your family, peers, and friends don't really understand you. God understands exactly where/who you are. Remain comfortable in that fact.

Life would be a whole lot easier if we followed The Holy Spirit and not our feelings.

The deception of the perfect guy.
There's no such thing as the perfect guy. No man will come to you with every box checked off. Even after a while the love of your life will have some kinks you're not fond of -- as well as grow into habits that you wanted in the first place. But there will never be such a thing as a perfect (but he might just be perfect for you). He's not gonna come polished, showering you with gifts, chivalrous all the time, no bad habits, no past, just a perfect model that'll do any and everything you want. If he is there's more there. Remember: And no wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light. (2 Corinthians 11:14 ESV) But the serpent said to the woman, “You will not surely die. For God knows that when you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.” (Genesis 3:4-5 ESV) Your perfect guy may simply be a distraction. So perfect that he makes you ignore the fact that he's feeding your ego by letting you walk all over him rather than him leading or the fact that he's not as saved as he said he was. In the end the 'perfect' guy does not challenge you, because there is no one to work with, pray about, or "help". So stop looking for the perfect guy (you shouldn't even be looking), because the only perfect guy you're gonna find on this earth is Christ; the One you should be digging into. And whenever that guy comes along (who should also be digging into Christ) just know he's not perfect but neither are you and Christ loves you unconditionally.
I'm not waiting for ....
I'm not waiting for a "perfect"guy. A man who comes as everything as well as gives me everything I want. I'm not waiting for someone to ruffle my feathers and make something false look good. I'm waiting in the man that will trust God more than himself, be patient, and willing to fight for love ....And that's the difference between you thinking I have high standards and what it actually is.
Saved kids be like: Ima praise break on the graduation stage.
World: follow your heart
Jesus: the heart is deceitful above all things. Deny yourself, take up your cross, and follow Me.
The List.
Don't let your "list" get you caught in a situation unbefitting to God's will. The better decorated the package is --with what YOU want-- the more room there is for other unGodly characteristics to be over sighted.
Letting Go ?
How many times have we chosen what we want over what we need ? And how many times has that left us in a rut or insufficient place ?
His Grace is Sufficient.
Happy Good Friday,
I woke up today trying to recollect on what Christ has done for us over 2,000 years ago. Although what He did was vaguely clear to me, my mind was focused more on my cares of today. I found myself overwhelmed as I continued to pile onto my brain all that I needed to accomplish. I became overwhelmed with my schedule for the fall semester, getting an internship for the summer, and all that I thought I had to do to stay on top of my game. All of the applications I put out and was not hearing from started to run across my mind. I began to wonder:
"How am I going to get all this done? Do I even have the strength/qualifications to do all of this?" "Is my resume up to par?"
I was afraid for a moment and no matter how badly I wanted to find validation from some other source, I decided to turn to God. I remembered what day this really was and what I should be celebrating, and quickly I was reminded that His Grace is Sufficient.
Christ who died for you and me, knew that the debt we owed we could not pay. He knew that what we had was not sufficient enough, so He took our place on that cross and in the end said: "It is finished," (John 19:28-30). And He has been covering for us since. When He died and rose again He called us into a life of apostleship. Some place higher than where we were. A life where he has called us, not based on our gifts and our abilities, but His divine commission. He knows where we excel and where we lack but He does not care, because He is there to be everything we are not. Where we fall short, He picks up and where we produce greatness, He continues to perfect.
Romans 1:1-7 NIV ---
1 Paul, a servant of Christ Jesus, called to be an apostle and set apart for the gospel of God— 2 the gospel he promised beforehand through his prophets in the Holy Scriptures 3 regarding his Son, who as to his earthly life was a descendant of David, 4 and who through the Spirit of holiness was appointed the Son of God in power by his resurrection from the dead: Jesus Christ our Lord 5 Through him we received grace and apostleship to call all the Gentiles to the obedience that comes from faith for his name’s sake. 6 And you also are among those Gentiles who are called to belong to Jesus Christ.7 To all in Rome who are loved by God and called to be his holy people:Grace and peace to you from God our Father and from the Lord Jesus Christ.
Understand that you are not your own, all that is done in your life is divinely ordered by God and you have nothing to do with that. So don't get caught up in the details God has already worked out and given grace for. The word says that we have been given the grace and authority to accomplish every task He has placed in front of us. That means we don't have to sit around calculating whether our gifts, great smile, or detailed resumes will be enough to take us where we need to go. We know that on our best days we are still like filthy rags, but on any day God is sovereign and all-knowing, constantly working for our good. Our job is to keep the faith and move forward with what He has already confirmed done.
Rest and abide in Him, as He directs your path.
