╰ | KELLY.
It didn’t take long for Kelly to work through the other’s plan, as it was, that was the only option they had, seeing that Barry Simon had gotten away with murderin’ that other lady and all, but still, doubt lingered in her mind, one she couldn’t afford to be losing. With worker after worker, it did seem like a conspiracy, as her pointed glare bore into Nathan’s skull, trying to ignore any of his thoughts for the lack of a better a plan.
“And you ‘fink that that I’ve ‘ad a body count before all this shite? You absolute twat! This place didn’t do nothin’ to us, nothing for us either—but that don’t mean it turned us into killers. I reckon that was all our own doing! Remember that first guy, yeah? He was out for our blood—after that, every single person that walks through them doors never ‘ad a chance, ‘specially when they don’t giving a flying shit ‘bout us.”
Thick accent played out in a miffed tone, Kelly couldn’t hide her frustrations much and that only grew more obvious as she continued, the idea that this community service was all a ploy. “I know somethings wrong if you start makin’ sense.” Adding into the words, and into the idea that this was to just lock ‘em up, she knew she’d end up there sooner or later. It was in her blood, but that was before all this power shit came with the storm too.
“What a fuckin’ loon idea, yeah. Spoons, to what? Dig out concrete walls? I reckon you wouldn’t last two minutes in a cell—which is why’ve we got to get rid of him. We’ve done it before—so long as we don’t leave a trail.” Kelly took another look at the body, taking a moment to kneel before grabbing at his hands. “Take the feet then—we gotta lug him to that freezer storage, yeah? Before the others get ‘ere. We can deal with a more permanent solution later.”
❝ Okay, okay, no need for the aggression. Let’s face it, if I hadn’t turned up, you’d be off all — ❞
Expression morphs into exaggerated horror, and a pitched-high mimicry of a scream drags out for a few seconds too long to be amusing. A moment later, he snaps back, lips curling into his characteristic impish grin.
❝ You should be thankin’ me. I’m the man with the plan here. ❞
A petulant huff of reluctant breath, and he tugs jumpsuit sleeves further over his hands, as though the mere prospect of touching the body is too revolting to consider — as needlessly dramatic as ever, considering the far worse things they’ve been forced to do. Nevertheless, after a bracing moment, he crouches, fingers curling around the man’s ankles, though he makes no move to rise — merely gazes expectantly up to her, brow quirked. He’s already harbouring the full intention of putting in as little personal effort as he can get away with.
❝ Hurry up, then. If this is how it’s gonna be, me doin’ all the heavy liftin’, you can drag ‘im there yourself. ❞
And, directly contradictory to his attempt to rush her —
❝ Hang on, what d’you mean I wouldn’t last two minutes? I’d do amazin’ in prison. You’ve seen me, yeah? Beautiful. They’d be fallin’ over themselves. Work my charm, try an’ stomach the fact that they’re all really unattractive, throw in my naturally loveable universal appeal, and bam. In charge in a month, tops, through seduction alone. An’ what are they gonna do, kill me? Nah, ‘cause hang on, I’m immortal. I’m basically a god! You wish your mind-readin’ shit was anywhere near this useful. All you get to do is perv on people’s — ❞
He cuts himself off with a startled sound of epiphany, the probation worker’s leg briefly slipping from his grasp as he points to her.
❝ — wait, wait, wait! We all get arrested together, right? Forget the spoons and the thing about me bein’ a prison bitch — and don’t tell anyone about that. Nah, me, Barry, and Curtis, we’d take the place by storm in days. Barry’s invisible thing, he can do loads of shit with that. Somethin’ goes wrong, Curtis turns back time. I’ll still be in charge, obviously, ‘cause I’ve got the looks an’ star power, but it’d be a team effort, so I’d still give ‘em, like, ten percent of the credit. 'Course, you an’ Alisha would be in a ladies’ prison, and I’m not gonna lie to you, man, you two are fucked, ‘cause neither of you can do that clever shit with your powers. But us, we’d be fine! ❞
An anticipatory beat, two, and then —
❝ Oh, right, movin’ the body. Stop distractin’ me! ❞

“No shit!” There was no more time for any dicking around, seeing that the probation worker was already lying on the ground, and no much of anything coming from his end anymore. “I can’t believe we’ve dun it again, for fuck’s sake—” Kelly had absolutely taken this too far, they both had it seemed, the luck of the workers coming and going much too quickly.
While it seemed Nathan had been trying to come up with a plan, talking mostly to himself at that point, the young woman let out a harsh scoff, clicking her tongue as if to try and get him to stop. “Would you shut it! If somebody finds ‘im, we’re gonna ‘ave to explain ourselves, and we can’t ‘ave another dead body on our hands. We’ve got to find a proper place to hide him, at least until we have time to actually get rid of him.”
@misfitted | nathan & kelly
A sound that skates embarrassingly close to a whine escapes him before arms cross at his chest, fingers digging into jumpsuit as he tears widened gaze from the prone form on the floor to Kelly. It takes him a slow, stretched moment for his mind to kick into gear as it should; he talks a big game, sure, but he’s never been the planning type. Or the logical type. Or the killing people type, though he appears to be developing a somewhat contradictory track record on that front.
❝ Jesus fuck, is this what community service does? Drives you fuckin’ insane with the scrubbin’ walls and cleanin’ up litter and — carin’ for little old ladies and all that mind-numbin’ shit every day 'til it turns you into actual criminals? I mean, worse criminals. I come in here for pick ‘n’ mix, and suddenly we’ve killed — I dunno, I lost count after the first few! More people than before, anyway, ‘cause you know how many bodies I had to hide back then? Big, fat, stress-free zero! ❞
For once, though, he listens when she tells him to shut it, though brows furrow into an indignant glare — corpse or no corpse, he can still find the time to be offended. Still, he focuses, or at least attempts to, and a hand rises to snap fingers toward her in epiphany.
❝ Hey! Barry stuck that other girl in the freezer that time, yeah? We can just shove ‘im in there for a bit, won’t get the smell that way. Ah, told you — genius! Only problem is... gettin’ him there. ❞
And, off-handedly as he leans to examine the body, evidently still on his prior train of thought —
❝ I’m just sayin’, it feels like one of them conspiracy things. They don’t wanna release us petty criminals back into society in case you beat some more people up down Argos or somethin’, so they just get us to commit a shit-ton of murders so they can chuck us in prison. We should start hoardin’ spoons, y’know, so we can tunnel out like in that Shawshank film. ❞

❝ morning . uh , dobroe utro? ❞ he hardly lifts his head , eyes squinted as he tries to focus them . the tiling of the community centre floor was cooling down a high body temperature , calming the nerves that was still buzzing from the drugs he’d only taken a few hours before . he couldn’t say how he’d gotten there , only that he was & had no idea where there was . ian inhaled heavily before clearing his throat a little , then looked towards his surroundings . ❝ jesus this is depressing . y’know colour really helps liven people up . not that though . ❞ motions towards the vibrant people painted onto the wall , looking like they were running . ❝ that looks homicidal . ❞
* STARTER , @misfitted .
❝ why’re you speakin’ latin? ❞
alright, probably not latin, but it’s just as indecipherable. he squints where he leans over the other, visage a blend of curious and incredulous — generally, he’s found that most people you come across lying around in or near this building fall into one of two camps: they’re dead, likely because of them, or their name is jeremy, and they’ve turned into a dog again. he thinks he’s pretty safe in his assumption that this is not jeremy (fortunately; he’s not sure he can deal with seeing that again so soon), and he’s fairly certain he’s not dead, either, with the speaking and all, though he nudges him with a foot anyway — to make sure.
nathan follows his gesture and snorts.
❝ homicidal’s probably what they’re goin’ for. really fits the mood that comes over you the minute you walk in. anyway, how come you’re lyin’ on the floor? i mean, i’m guessin’ you’re stoned off your face — which, no judgment, man, me too when i’m done with this shit — but this is seriously, like, the worst place you could’ve ended up, so unless you’re fine with gettin’ jumped when the probation fuckers get here, you might wanna get up. ❞
