Some time ago last year, I made an attempt to put a halt to my predictions. For one, they've been proved wrong by Touko and Touya with respect to a considerably grave event-- and on the other hand, it's just not as reassuring as it used to be, paired with the sinking feeling of disappointment I don't ever want to feel again should it not go as foretold. With being human comes the tendency to err. One can't rely on mere fortune, I realized the hard way.
However, this is an instance of exception.
I feel as if things are about to change, quite significantly and there is little I can do to stop it.
Hey N! What cha' doing? How's the haircut being going for you?
Hello, Touko.
Ah, well, I've been dwelling on the idea of traveling again-- I realize I learned so much the prior year and I sort of miss the feeling of well, taking in a lot more about the world.
That aside, the haircut is fine, thank you. You, on the other hand; I trust you are well?
[Wes nodded, seeming to let some of his guard down.] Mmm. Yeah. I understand. The situation’s not exact, but I’ve played both sides of the ‘liberation’ game, and it’s hard to disassociate yourself from it when you decide you’re not going to involve yourself in something like that anymore. Sorry. I’d have been chummier from the get-go, but someone was talking to me about stuff recently that’s made me a little paranoid.
I get what you mean about rural places. Agate Village is really the place to be, in that case. Remember to go to the Relic Forest and spend some time sitting near the Relic Stone. I’m not a hugely spiritual guy, but going to that place, especially going there with a Pokemon…It does something to you. It clears your head and your conscience.
It's fine, there's no need to apologize. When you've explained this to people so many times, it's almost mechanical already. And that's true-- there are just some things other people strongly remember you by. If you don't mind me asking, what kind of 'stuff' has this someone been talking with you recently?
That sounds wonderful, and almost too surreal. I'll be sure to remember that when I make a visit to Orre.
Oh. [We eyes N a little more warily. It seems now he remembers where he heard the name before.]
I see.
Orre’s alright. Mostly miles and miles of desert. Phenac City and Agate Village are pretty impressive places, though. For completely different reasons, but both are real nice to look at.
You’re not still behind the whole liberation thing, are you?
Mm, I can imagine. I find rural regions more appealing-- there's something about nature that's very comforting.
You find me strange. [he settles for a small smile] I don't blame you; my previous association has left much to be desired. I'm not involved with that kind of matter anymore, if that's what you're so worried about.
misguided-hero replied to your post: misguided-hero started following you
[chuckles] Yes, quite. A pleasure to meet you, my name is N.
N, huh? I think I’ve heard that name before…
I’m Wes. From Orre, ‘cause everyone seems to ask. What’re you all about, eh?
Oh, I've heard little of Orre, since it's quite far from Unova; I do plan to visit someday, however, as a personal goal of mine. How are things there?
Me? Ah, well, I once dreamed of liberating Pokemon from their trainers... [he laughs nervously] It's hard to explain but that about sums up my agendas a year prior.
ARIA
*nods* He was.
I’ve heard that there are some mysterious ruins in Hoenn that are related to the temple in Snowpoint. One of the things that fascinates me about my home region is how many connections there are to our myths and those of other regions. Hoenn seems like a very wild region, and I think it would be wonderful to explore! Especially since Sinnoh is becoming so industrialized lately.
That is indeed very fascinating. It's wonderful how the world has all these connections, no matter how small, that remain elusive to most of us. I hope you enjoy yourself, whenever you get around to exploring Hoenn.
Of course they would! You are still the same old N after all! Exactly, I don’t really know anyone else with green hair and it really brings out your eyes, and your cheek bones too! [Obviously she’s an expert at this nodnod.] It’ll probably feel better once you get used to it, and it just looks like you’ll be better off in summer! I wish I was brave enough to even cut my hair a little bit..
I just recently met another person with green hair; Miss Cheryl from the Sinnoh region, though her hair longer, now that I've cut mine. [he grins slightly, a little proud of himself for making a new acquaintance] O-oh, I see... That's nice, I'm very flattered to hear that.
Mm, I suppose it does fit the whole summer look. Well, you can try if at least once? Maybe trim it a little at first and see what it's like. Though I do like the way your hair falls in tresses naturally.
Ah hello, N. I am sorry if this sounds strange, but I just wanted to thank you for talking to me the other day. I meant what I said and everything. I hope Jasper has not been troubling you much recently either. And, well, I am sorry for avoiding you for so long. To be honest I have been hoping I could talk to you at some point but have not had the courage so to speak to do so. So thank you.
Oh, uh-- [he looks flustered] It's alright! But, there's no need to thank me, Cathal; I should be the one thanking you. I apologize as well; you know how it is with me and Team Plasma as a whole...
But yes, it did honestly make me just as happy. I look forward to speaking with you more, if time permits. And don't worry about Jasper. [he chuckles a little] It's fine, really.
Hmm, N. That’s quite an unusual name. Well, my grandfather always did say that a stranger is just a friend you haven’t yet met!
Sinnoh is a lovely place. It’s very rich with mythology and all kinds of unique Pokemon, although it is colder here compared to most other regions. I’ve been considering taking a trip to Hoenn before. I’ve never been there before, and I’ve heard that there are some very unusual ruins hidden in some locations in Hoenn. It would be fun to try and seek them out.
Ah…that’s very kind of you to say! Thank you, N. I’m flattered.
Er, well, it's just a nickname...but I'd rather people addressed like this. And, that's a nice way to put it; your grandfather sounds like a wise man.
Ah, I see. I'm rather fond of mythology; Unova has its own, but there's no harm in learning more. And I think you'd rather like Hoenn. Very tropical, lush green and deep blues; it's a refreshing take from the urban scenery.
Just my honest opinion, still, you're welcome. [smiles]
Likewise, it’s a pleasure. I’m N.
Yes, you’re right. Unova boasts many urban cities, as well as rural landscapes, both accommodating to Pokemon and people alike. I believe it’s well worth a visit.
I’ll have to visit sometime then! Do you have contests there?
Contests? Not the same as it is in other regions, I'm afraid; there are only Pokemon Musicals, if I'm not mistaken.
misguided-hero started following you
Hi, nice to meet you! I’m Marina!
You’re from Unova? What’s it like there? I’ve never been there before, but I’ve heard it’s really pretty!
Likewise, it's a pleasure. I'm N.
Yes, you're right. Unova boasts many urban cities, as well as rural landscapes, both accommodating to Pokemon and people alike. I believe it's well worth a visit.
…Oh, oops. I hope it wasn’t strange of me to suddenly make conversation like that without properly introducing myself first. My name is Cheryl. ^^ I’m from Eterna City in the Sinnoh region. It’s a sincere delight to meet you!
I really do apologize if it was unusual for me to start speaking so comfortably to you. Your hair looks very similar to mine, so it made me think what it would look like if mine were cut short.
There's no need to apologize, Miss Cheryl; conversation is always welcome. You can call me N, and I'm from the Unova region. How is it there in Sinnoh? I've visited it some time ago, it's a wonderful region.
Ah yes, you can say that. Your hair and mine do share the same hue, after all. If I may be so bold, you look lovely the way you are.
Ah, I’ve always wondered what it might be like to have shorter hair. I did almost cut it a few times, because it can be a little bit of a hassle to maintain…but I always wind up thinking I’ll regret it, and it would take so long to grow back, so I’ve just kept it as it is.
The look suits you rather well, though. ^^
Oh yes, I did consider the time it will take to grow it back, but then again, there wouldn't be much satisfaction in just always asking 'what if'. There is a thrill in trying for the sake of it, even just once in your life, but to each their own, I suppose.
Thank you, miss...? I'm sorry, I believe we have not met before.
