Before the disappearance of Roslyn Malone in 1945, the town of Bentley was a quiet, peaceful haven for people to start over; people who never fit in. Many years have passed since that horrible day and all of the years in between have only seemed to bring more tragedies and more problems to the small town. Bentley is no longer the same place it once was. Rumors fly about curses, ghosts, and psychics although most of the residents have a tendency to just brush it off. Many families residing in Bentley have been plagued with a series of unfortunate events, each one more tragic and more unexpected than before. Skeptics dismiss the happenings as bad luck; others believe it is curse, haunting not only the families who have resided in Bentley for years, but anyone who takes over the properties after the previous owner's untimely deaths. It is now the year 2017, and the events occurring in Bentley seem to get stranger every day. Are ghosts real? Do curses exist? It's time someone in Bentley finds out.

I have never been this upset or disappointed in the roleplay community. They never asked our permission, and I really don't understand why they would do this.

When we contacted the administrators and asked them politely to take the page down, they claimed that we had "no proof we were owners of the Misguided Ghosts original page" and that it was a "stupid accusation". I have screenshots, if I need any more proof.

Only a few members requested to keep their roles, so many of the roles would be reopened. It has been closed for almost two months now, and I know that many people miss it as much as we do! If we were to reopen, the page would go under a HUGE revamp, and we would alter the plot along with some of the bios. What do you guys think? :)

Unfortunately, since 90% of our members are inactive currently, we have chosen to go on a hiatus. I hate having to do this..Jes and I have put our hearts into this roleplay, but people just don't seem to be interested in it anymore. We love each and every one of you, but we cannot continue to supply events and maintain this roleplay when no one is active.
We aren't sure when we will reopen, but if you would like to keep your character, please send us a message and a link to a personal tumblr where we can reach you when we reopen. If you do not message us, consider your role reopened.

A storm is brewing, and the town of Bentley can feel it. The warm, summer air has been disappeared practically overnight and has been replaced with a cold breeze that chills to the bone. Roads are being closed down, trees are blowing over and tornado warnings are flying around as fast as the winds are blowing. Gather a bag of your most important things and report to the Franklin Bentley Memorial High School as soon as possible.
OOC: If you'd like to participate in the event, please message the main RP for details. You will be free to interact with everyone who attends the event. Please know during this time we will also be having a mass activity check. We will message all inactive characters, and if they do not post by Sunday, September 23 their characters will be reopened. Writing sample: (3 paragraphs minimum) Bay frowned at the news. Lima was worse than ever. She had her hopes up, thinking itâd be okay. That theyâd all be okay. But no. She felt tears run down her face at the thought of Eva being gone. For good. She wasnât sad for Eva, she was finally reigning in her castle in the sky. But everyone here. Thatâs who she felt sorry for. The people who had to continue suffering. She wiped her tears away and turned the t.v off. Hearing Charlotteâs song only caused her pain. She had never spoken to the girl but it still hurt. These people of Lima, they all despised each other sometimes but underneath it all they were family. They were all connected in their own way. And in the end, theyâd all be there for each other. She leaned back and closed her eyes, listening to her breaths. She tried to make them even but at this point it was all impossible. She opened her eyes and looked around at the room that had become a home for her. She reached under her pillow and took out a stack of letters. She had written them a long time ago. She had been prepared. She held on to them and smiled at them and her loopy handwriting. She only hoped theyâd be legible. She leaned back and watched the window. It had been a terrible and rainy day but it was now a beautiful day, sunny. She wished she could go outside and enjoy it. She stared and then got up, walking towards it and opening the window, the breeze hitting her face and she smiled at it. She held the letters tightly in her hand and close to her heart. She stood there for a while, feeling the warm sun and feeling some strange feeling of happiness. And it all happened too fast. She held on to the letters, never wanting to let them go. And she looked up at the sun shining at her and she held the tears back. She felt her breaths getting shakier and shorter. Until they were no more and neither was she.

"Adam, Adam talk to me." The pale blonde haired girl followed the boy down the hallway. "Oh come on, just for a minute?" Lilly pleaded. This was not the way it was suppose to be. Her plan was to end up with Adam, to have a romantic life filled with eternal happiness. Instead it was no different then things had been before that glass of wine they shared together.
What was it? Why wasn't she good enough? What was it going to take for her to see they were suppose to be together. "I did it for your own good you know." She called after him as his appearance faded. Crossing her arms Lilly began to feel defeated, but she couldn't give up. Alls she wanted to do was make Adam happy, so why was he being so stubborn? "Without me you would have been miserable and you know it Adam."Â
Taking off down the fall she followed him. There was no stopping Lilly Newton once she had her mind made up. What did that stupid little sophomore have on her anyway? Not that it mattered anymore. Adam was dead, Sara was living, there was no way they could be together. Now he'd have no choice but to be with her. Finally spotting the beautiful blonde haired boy she smirked. "You know eventually you'll come back." She brushed her hand against his, a twinkle in her eye.Â

Broken leaves swept past Noahâs feet, a few passing under them, crunching to a dust under each footstep. The boy shivered in the breeze as he wound through headstones, careful not to step on any of the wilting flowers. Flowers left by loved ones, sometimes even complete strangers. Noah had seen them, visitors, like himself, coming to pay their respects to the dead, or simply just to drift along amongst the deceased, perhaps looking for solitude or peace. Itâs what he looked for. That, and maybe some answers, but those seemed hard to come by around here.
Noah shoved his hands in his pockets, a new chill running through him. He whipped his head to the side, his eyes searching for what his ears picked up on, but there was nothing there. No body to accompany the voice he heard. Noahâs eyes darted around the empty graveyard, internally praying that it wasnât happening again. He was normal. And normal guys didnât hear voices or see hallucinations. Then again, normal guys didnât ordinarily skulk around graveyards, either, but that was another story. The chill rippled through him again, accompanying another round of whispers. Always whispers. Like they wanted to drive him insane. Like they were really trying. But he wouldnât let them. Noah was normal.
Turning on his heel, Noah spotted a figure off in the distance. Small frame, unassuming disposition. Noah tilted his head, trying to get a closer look. To filter out what was real and what he might be imagining. OrâŚseeing through, or whatever. The old psychicâs words rang through his head, despite his efforts to shut them out. Unwelcome reminders of hisâŚaffliction, the âgiftâ which she told him he possessed, like herself. But Noah didnât know what to believe. What to think. All he wanted was to blend in, to be normal like everyone else. And yet here he was, walking through a graveyard, hearing whispers where there were no lips to form the words, seeing a figure he wasnât entirely sure was actually even there.
The boy stepped closer, beginning to recognize the shadow. A small, blonde girl, familiar to Noah. Heâd seen her around. She was one of the new residents of the Arlon home, and apparently had the same taste in âhang outâ spots as he did. HIs eyes brightened, an idea forming. He raised a hand, giving a half hearted wave, trying to force a friendly smile on his face while trying to shove the voices out of his head. âAnnabelle, right?â He called. Maybe this was his chance. The girl hung out in a graveyard, for Christâs sake. How bad could she really be?

Noah had never particularly blended in too well with his peers, not to say that he had no friends, or went through life lonely- just his crowd of friends had always been a bit more strange then most. A freshman at a community college, Noah was still unsure of where he wanted to go with his life, what he wanted to do, who he wanted to be. Noah always managed to come off as a bit too high strung. Dealing with the pressure of his Mother wanting him to be perfect, and attempting to hide his psychic abilities he became a bit of an asshole, as he attempted to store away how he really felt, and the things that he was actually seeing and hearing. When he was young it was easy, many children have imaginary friends, and strange vivid dreams- but when it continued into adolescence Noahâs parents finally realized there was something wrong.
Taking him to see various Doctors and various psychologists and therapists they could only determine that he had Psychosis, in which he had hallucinations both typical and auditory; meaning that not only did he see things but at various times it was just voices. For a long time Noah stayed on different medications to help deal with his apparent problems, but as he got older he realized they didnât help anything and were only serving in making him drowsy and keeping him in almost a state of high. To this day his parents still believe he takes his medication, but in reality he hasnât touched the pills in years. Noah discovered that he could possibly be hearing the dead talk, and seeing glimpses into their lives during his hallucinations after going to a psychic with a group of friends one Halloween. The woman did not want to talk to him in front of everyone but discussed the matter with him afterwards. Noah of course acted as if he had no idea what she was talking about but on the inside he was terrified, and also completely against the idea of being what he believed was a complete freak.
Only a few select people are aware of what Noah hears and sees, (his family, and his best friend Ethan Bentley) although they have no idea that it is really the dead attempting to contact him. Noah has a tendency to come off as a bit of an asshole, mostly because he would love it if he could just blend in with those around him, but this is a hard task considering the fact that he lives so close to the Arlon house, and is always almost surrounded by various spirits. Sometimes he still forgets that the voices he hears are not always voices of those around him causing him to get into awkward situations in which he uses anger to get out of. Although he is terrified of his apparent gift he still wants to learn more about it, and when a new family moves into the Arlon household he believes this could be his chance. Noticing Annabelle the youngest Elliot daughter constantly hanging out around the graveyard he sees this as a chance to not only learn a bit about whatâs going on with his life, but possibly find someone who might understand him, seeing that they both seem to have a strange but obvious connection to the dead.
