How do you deal with grief? I just can't stop the overwhelming feeling of it.
i'm muslim so the islamic perspective comforts me a lot. the idea that the person isn't gone forever, that my prayers are reaching them, that the love i have for them meets them where my hands can't. i was chosen to love them. i was chosen to lose them because God knew i would still make something of their love. but muslim or not, the point remains true. the love you had and still have for them is making the world a softer place. every smile you give a stranger. every bird you feed on your morning walk. every hug you give to someone who's still living. this is your greatest evidence. yes, someone loved me once. yes, they walked with me here once and i look for their footsteps still. yes, i dream them back all the time. yes, they made the world bearable, and i will too. ill do for others what they did for me with all the love they left behind.
When you start to respect yourself, you also start to recognize who doesn’t. Friendships watering down, clashing with people you used to get along with, discovering some relationships/dynamics aren’t for you— it’s all part of growing as a person and realizing what is and isn’t what you want or need. It doesn’t mean that there’s something wrong with you or that you’re doing the wrong thing: new habits, new boundaries and a newfound self-respect often require reevaluation.
Don't ever hesitate. Reblog this. TUMBLR RULE. When you see it, REBLOG IT.

THIS ONE FUCKING WORKS. REBLOG IT.
this for real fucking works
The words try coming out
Sometimes it feels like they’re slyly crawling up my throat
Other times I feel them want to come up in a cough
But I blink my eyes, swallow and keep my mouth shut
when friedrich nietzsche said “i am leaving for the mountains as soon as i can. this year i wish to speak to nobody”
I’ve never been in love, but I still yearn for another to call me by their name. Or to be able to ask of that. It’s the idea that both souls are so intertwined, willing to give their entire self to their lover that they long to identify as one another. It’s beyond fervent of a way to say differences aside for we are now one.
Ive been listening to Adele & Hozier all week and I think it’s only intensified my want for a love like one of a gothic romance novel.
When I think of my childhood I see hues of greys and blues and fog and I hear the loudest ocean waves crashing- so loud I can hardly think.
Sometimes, I fear that I’m only half of a person. Less, if possible.
I sit in silence, awkward or comfortable.
I never know what to say, how to or when to say.
All of my friends say I’m either expressionless or unable to hide it.
All of my teachers say I’m a pleasure to have in class and so mature for my age.
I don’t know when the switch happened.
I used to beam with life and excitement for the the new and the familiar.
Now I’m too tired to even engage the familiar.
I don’t know what happened to me.
You said you loved my long blonde hair
So I cut it off with tears in my eyes
And colored it with rage in my heart
Do you still love me?
Or was it just the image of your little girl that you loved?
I’m not little anymore, mom.
