It was his second semester as a freshman, Louie still couldn't get used to New York. Even though he was born in the U.S, he spent many years abroad. Studying at Juilliard was as great as getting accepted into Harvard. In fact, it was even more formidable, since Juilliard is the most prestigious conservatory in the world.
When Park Jinyoung PD found out Louie passed the audition, he gave him permission to study outside of Korea. After all, 2PM had been on hiatus for a year now, and the other members who hadn't joined the military were busy with solo activities.
Although his family didn't live in New York, he had many opportunities to see them and spend time with them more than he ever had in his years as an idol. That same week his sister Luna called, asking if he wanted to grab korean barbecue somewhere for the weekend, which he gladly accepted.
As for his life as a student, well, the pressure was something he was ready for. In Juilliard it's impossible to call someone ordinary; notable alumni who have become important figures in the history of contemporary art, children of important people, and others who can only be called prodigies.
Was Louie in one of these groups? No, he wasn't.
Even though his professor, DiDonato, had praised his vocal ability as a 'god-given gift' in a master class, Louie couldn't say he felt completely confident to call himself a prodigy. Yet, studying at Juilliard was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, and there he was.
After the orchestra rehearsal of that day, finishing putting his 'Bach Chorales' book on the bag, Louie walked out of the school building. He breathed in the cool air that passed through his airway, exhaling it as he rubbed his hands, having nowhere to put them, wearing an outfit without a pocket.
“Gosh it's cold,” he muttered as he walked down the stairs.
Stepping onto the last step, his eyes went to the street, where there was a car parked right in front of the building. He wasn't a car expert but could recognize a Ferrari in that vibrant red color. It made him wonder for a few seconds who would own such a luxurious car, but soon he lost interest. Most of the people studying in that conservatory were rich.
Before he could continue his way, the car's scissor-style door opened. The person pushed down the door after getting out, revealing himself. A man wearing a black sunglass and a long coat was carrying a bouquet of flowers in his left hand.
“Why he is coming towards me?”
His steps got closer and closer until it stopped in front of Louie. A smile appeared on his face.
“Did you eat today?”, to his surprise the voice spoke in Korean, “you should've put something warmer."
“You know me?”
The man took off his sunglasses, revealing a face with Asian features, not too old but mature. “I'm your fan.”
“Oh,” he said with a surprised tone, “why?”
“This the first thing you ask? Hahaha.”
“I asked if you know me first.”
“Let's not talk here, it's cold. Can I give you a ride home? By the way, I bought these flowers for you.”
Louie looked down at the bouquet being held, then crossed his arms, looking at the other's eyes. “Thank you but I can walk.”
“You sure? The subway is probably crowded this hour.”
“If that's all, I'll be going.”
“Your bouquet-”
“I can't hold it now, my hands are freezing. Consider that I accepted it and put them in a vase of water. I can't take photos or give you an autograph either. The reason you already know.”
At his words, the man showed a wry smile, tightening his grip on the bouquet he was holding. “I see, be careful on your way home.”
He turned away and continued walking at a hurried step, shrugging his shoulders and trying to control the chills on his arms. Louie didn't look back once, only forward.
When Louie finally got home and was able to rest, he began to think about what had happened. The way he treated his so-called fan wasn't polite, as he was in a hurry. What if he curses him on social media as a rude and arrogant person? He didn't think about it at the time, wanting to go home.
After all, why was he a fan of him? If Louie wasn't in such a hurry, he would have asked again. He wouldn't question if it was a woman in her mid-twenties who'd said she'd been a fan since she was a teenager, but that man looked older than him and 2PM's concept is not really made for people like him.
He knew that was a biased thought -especially coming from him-, but it's the truth. That's why it made him intrigued. The man also seemed quite wealthy and good-looking.
“What am I thinking after treating him that way? There's no way he's still my fan.”
It was better that way, he didn't come here as an idol, just a student who wanted to live like that for the rest of his student life.
He was there again.
And again.
And again.
That man appeared in front of the conservatory for the rest of the week, always at the same time, no matter if it was extremely cold. However, unlike before, he didn't offer a ride or tried to give another bouquet, he was just there.
His presence was already gaining attention from other students, one of them even asked if he was his boyfriend. Every time Louie finished the classes he saw the man outside, smiling and waving at him while leaning back on his luxurious Ferrari.
He had such a carefree smile like a happy puppy, not overly bubble or annoying, but bright enough to make Louie's eye tired. Even if he ignored or didn't greet him, he would still show up the next day.
“Is this some kind of provocation because I was rude to him? It's ticking off me already.”
“What?” Luna asked, looking at him with curiosity.
“There's this guy who said he was my fan some days ago and I didn't treat him well. Now he's coming to my school every day. I can't figure out what exactly he wants.”
“He came to your school as a fan?”
“Yeah, he even bought a bouquet and offered me a ride home.”
“Ooh, that sounds creepy,” his sister said sipping the iced cola.
“It's not creepy, just annoying.”
“Is he cute?”
“Kinda, and rich too, I think.”
“Talk to him!” Her tone immediately changed to excited.
Louie shook his head, eating one piece of meat with chopsticks. “So he's not creepy anymore? You're really simple-minded.”
“But doesn't it look like something a male lead in a kdrama would do to catch the heroine's attention?”
“Probably, Koreans love to romanticize problematic things,” he said watching the sister roll her eyes, “and do I look like a kdrama heroine?”
“Forget it, eat the barbecue.”
He smiled seeing the woman's annoyed expression, eating another piece of meat. Although Luna looked like his own reflection in the mirror with a female body, she was completely different from him, being the more extroverted of the two.
“You know what? I'll get an answer tomorrow.”
Louie should've sorted this out sooner rather than fretting over it in a weekend. On Monday he'll question the guy and ask why he was doing this.
At least that was his plan.
“He's not here.”
That was on Monday.
“Neither today.”
Then Tuesday.
As he looked out into the street, looking for any sign of a red Ferrari, Louie showed a puzzled expression. He waited for a whole week, but the man didn't show up.
“Louie, whatever is worrying you, you better leave it out of my classroom.”
“I'm sorry, professor.”
The woman appeared annoyed to realize that he was sighing too much that day, not even paying attention to her lecture. Wasn't it for the better? At least he didn't have to worry about a possible stalker anymore. Everything was back to normal.
Still, it was bothering him.
That man was ignored for a week, did he gave up? There wasn't a single article talking about his rude treatment to a fan either. No matter how much he thought, it was suspicious.
When he exited the building, the sight of a car caught his attention. He walked down the stairs in hurry, his heart beating a little bit faster.
As if nothing happened, that man was there again, leaning on the car and fidgeting his feet as he seemed to wait for someone. When their eyes met, he gave him the same bright smile, waving his hand.
Instead of walking away, however, the man looked surprised seeing the other approach him.
“Louie-”
“Is this some kind of joke? Why're you doing this?”
“What is this about?” He tilted his head, looking confused.
“This! You appear out of nowhere, then disappear and appear again.”
“I had some business in Korea so I was away for a week,” he explained, showing him another smile. “Why? You missed me?”
“Don't dare come back tomorrow or I'll call the police.” Louie pointed at him with menacing eyes.
“Wait, wait! I should've made myself clear.”
“Too late, I'm not hearing.”
He turned his back, walking with heavy steps, his fists clenched. It was foolish to worry about him even a little, thinking something had happened.
“I like you!” The scream right behind him made Louie freeze. “Sorry for not being honest. I'm not really your fan. I only said that to have an excuse.”
Louie looked back, blinking non-stop for some seconds, unsure what to do. He felt the blood rushing to his face, making it warmer.
“I'm in love with you, Louie!”
“What the heck are you screaming in public? This is embarrassing, shut up! At least say it in Korean!”
“I'm in love with-”
“You don't need to say it again!”
if he could look at himself in a mirror, his face would probably be red. Of course, he heard many times from fans those kinds of words, enough to make him not even react, but this time it caught him off guard.
“My name's Kang Hoon, I'm not a suspicious person,” he said taking out of his pocket what seemed to be a business card.
Reluctantly, Louie took the card, and his eyes widened when he saw what was written.

so, for organizing reasons i created a side blog for louie. it is going to be easy to post only things about him in that blog since this one is a mess and i need to clean here.
𝟙. these men are still wild after turning 30, can you imagine how they were back then? louie remembers it painfully vivid.
𝟚. after a looong time he finally opened up about his sexuality.
𝟛. he's the most serious and introverted member but the most expressive singing, according to everyone.
𝟜. lowkey highkey scares them.
𝟝. had to always tell them to shut up when they lived together (living alone is like heaven).
𝟞. even though there's no official leader position after jay park left the group, the members think louie act as a leader the most.
𝟟. but still, you do need crackhead energy to be on 2pm so let's say he adapted himself to live on chaos lol
𝟠. japanese fans gave him the nickname "neko" for having the personality of a cat, soon koreans and 2pm started calling him that.
𝟡. they often go to his opera concerts to show support.
𝟙𝟘. the members' daily goal is making him laugh til he tears up, which did happen a few times.
𝟙. tired granpa and tired cat, a perfect duo.
𝟚. "yah, stop bothering louie. he'll get angry."
𝟛. predebut jun.k and louie did not get along as jun.k often broke jyp's rules and louie didn't want to get involved on his mess.
𝟜. louie visited him lots of times during his enlistment, he also goes to all of his solo concerts.
𝟝. the day louie asked him to help producing his first pop solo album, jun almost died of happiness.
𝟙. mom and dad, aka the mature ones.
𝟚. nichkhun is really supportive about his career as a contertenour singer and travelled to new york to watch his performances when louie was studying in juilliard.
𝟛. the only member who reacted with "i know, it's alright" when he told about being gay.
𝟜. "you never talked about women in 10 years, also you were so uncomfortable during our a.d.t.o.y promotions. it was obvious, louie."
𝟝. the calm and quiet duo.
𝟙. the most introverted and the most extroverted, i think y'all know where this is going.
𝟚. it's awkward to talk in korean when they're alone, also taec thinks louie is much funnier in english as he's more sassy and sarcastic.
𝟛. taec discovered that intuitive conversations about not-so-superficial topics tend to last longer than small talk. for outsiders it may seem they have nothing in common, but taecyeon thinks louie is the perfect person to talk about serious matters. i just love their friendship.
𝟜. one time they spent the whole night talking about their careers, family, future and dreams and it's something taecyeon never forgot.
𝟝. not taec laughing like a hyena when louie dissed song joong-ki's italian pronunciation watching vincenzo.
𝟙. prolly the only member who is able to make him laugh without any effort.
𝟚. "i just laughed because i felt bad for you."
𝟛. wooyoung being the bravest member to roast louie for the sake of entertainment (and regretting it 5 seconds later).
𝟜. "guys, hyung is scary :( he just said he's going to throw me out the window if I don't keep quiet."
𝟝. jokes aside, wooyoung is such a precious man and he's in touch with his feelings despite being a clown. he thinks wooyoung is adorable so he just let him go.
𝟙. his least favourite little shit lol
𝟚. well he's a brat towards the hyung line, louie is no exception.
𝟛. junho say he thinks opera is boring, but he actually listen all of louie's albums and will fight whoever says he is not talented.
𝟜. guess who did watch all of junho's dramas and said he prefers the characters over the actor? lol
𝟝. "even seo yul (character he acted) is less annoying than junho."
𝟙. "i raised you well, do not disappoint me."
𝟚. louie really raised chansung. paying his meals, taking care of him, visiting him during his enlistment, bringing food and sending food trucks as a gift when he finishes solo projects.
𝟛. he watches his dramas and is more supportive of him than he is to junho lol
𝟜. "people misunderstand louie hyung as cold but he's actually a good person and look after me a lot, just like a real brother."
𝟝. the hyung who bullies him the least out of the members.

𝟙. as a child, he sang in the choir of the soprano girls.
𝟚. he grew up in san francisco until he was 11, then moved to london to study in the junior department of the royal college of music until he was scouted by jyp to become an idol.
𝟛. during puberty his voice did not break, which made him gain acess to even higher notes. he also discovered his vocal cords were significantly longer than that of the average person.
𝟜. received his bachelor's degree in vocal music from korea national university of arts in 2016.
𝟝. in 2018 he got accepted into juilliard school and received his master's degree in voice in 2020.
𝟞. started his career as a professional opera singer in 2017.
𝟟. his voice can reach a really high tone where he is able to sing arias such as queen of the night.
𝟠. for some time he was harshly criticized by netizens for not giving up his american green card to join the military like taecyeon did.
𝟡. a strange fact is that his voice is high but his sister has a low tone.
𝟙𝟘. he also has solo albums like the other members, but it's mainly about opera and classical music, either in italian, french or german.
𝟙𝟙. when asked why he chose to sing opera despite being an idol, he answered: "an opera singer can become an idol, but is much harder for an idol to become an opera singer. it's also good to have stability, if my idol career goes wrong somehow, at least i have a plan b."
𝟙𝟚. near the end of 2020 louie released his first solo album with pop songs, and promoted it both in japan and korea.
