Such a lovely resolution to the tension that had grown between Anne and Marilla over the past few episodes. Not only did Anne dress like an adult in this episode, she also acted like one by offering a sincere, heartfelt, mature apology. And with Matthew’s intervention, Marilla realized that trying to cling to Anne too tightly will simply push her away. Their relationship is so endearing. The orphaned girl who never thought she’d have a family. The unmarried woman who never thought she’d have a daughter. And the way they’re such a fit for each other.
