Thinking about that modern Cherik AU Erik being an activist and going to protests and stuff and dragging Charles with him to see the cruel reality of those who live oppressed fro being mutant. *opens blank doc*

Okay, I like it, but Charles is also a mutant and also sees that reality. He is also an activist but in a different way. Yes, Charles is able to pass as human if he needs to, but so is Erik. And of course, this allows them both to hear what Is said behind closed doors when people think there aren't any mutants around. But because Charles is able to see into people's minds, he knows what people won't even say then. I think most of their conflict would come from how to do activism and how they should fight for mutant rights. It's peaceful protests vs. violent uprising. And I do agree that Charles is a bit naive for believing in the inherent good in humanity, but he isn't blind. I know that everyone loves Erik because he's cool, but there's no reason to hate Charles.
