Anne: Ann and I do not use terms of endearment.
Marian: *Blinks*
Marian: Sister, what do bees make?
Anne: Honey.
Ann, from the hallway: Yes, dear?
I love this whole sequence. I love how she’s fond - albeit still sad - while first looking at Anne’s portrait. I love how suddenly furious she is. How betrayed she must feel, because Anne’s traveling alone, all over Europe, and she hasn’t written. Not once, like poor little Ann Walker is just an afterthought, something easily forgotten and left behind. How alone she must be feeling, right now? Forced to stay with her sister and his husban, a man that would gladly marry her off to one of his own relatives, someone she barely knows. I love how she’s determined to burn what little tangible memory she have of Anne. Something that she made herself. And no matter how much her chin wobble, no matter how she might regret this later, and she probably does if the very end of the scene is any indication, she won’t back down from her own resolution. Because she can’t have what she wants, after all, can she? So why should she torture herself for someone that left her behind, forgotten, like a broken toy to be replaced with the newest, shiniest thing? This is feels like the beginning of the whole change in her attitude because while, yes, later on she’s contemplating caving to what “everyone wants”, this is probably the first time since she left Crow Nest that she did something because she actually wanted to. Not because someone asked, not because the opportunity presented itself (hello, stupid glass, I’m looking at you!), but because she chose to. She consciouly made the decision of burning that damn portrait and she does. Unsteadily, regretful even, but who wouldn’t be, in her situation? So, TL;DR: I love this whole scene. I love this entire show - from the writing to the acting to everything else in between. And I can’t wait for season 2!
GENTLEMAN JACK // the gondola pin
Stranger: Is that man annoying you?
Ann, glances at Anne: Yes, but she’s my wife. I signed up for this.
I love you, Anne. I’m in love with you. I always have been.

“As if your enthusiasm already didn’t”, Beca joked and let out a chuckle at the other girl’s words. Sometimes Chloe’s acting was a little bit… too much, specially considering the fact that Beca didn’t interact with other people, out of work. She had friends of course, but none of them were able to see behing Beca’s defense mechanism, and definitely none of them were as enthusiastic as Chloe was, that was why it took her a little bit by surprise.
“Hey! No! I’m not cute! I’m a badass!” Beca laughed and played with her blazer as she kept talking with the girl. “Oh yeah, sometimes I forget you don’t know me at all. Yes, I do work. I’m a music producer. Probably why I don’t have much time to go out and live a little.”
Chloe gave a fake gasp. “I thought you liked my enthusiasm!” she exclaimed, before giggling. “Or should I tone it down? I mean, I can always...take back my number.” Not that she ever actually would tone it down, of course, unless she thought Beca was genuinely uninterested in her. Even though the smaller woman’s nerves, she did still seem vaguely interested in Chloe.
“You’re a bit of both. A cute badass. Take the compliment, Becs.” Chloe smiled, before raising her eyebrows in impressed surprise at Beca’s occupation. “A music producer? That’s...really cool. And as for the not knowing you thing...we can change that. I’d like to change that, if you’re interested?”

Beca saw the surprise in her eyes and the smile on her face. God, she’s beautiful. She thought to herself, still not believing a girl like Chloe found her attractive at all. Or so she thought. The brunette took a look behind her and saw the man clearly busy talking on the phone with someone. Maybe today was the time to flirt back and do justice for once.
Beca gulped when Chloe got closer and looked right into her baby blue eyes. “After all the flirting and stealen looks you I am just a customer?” She joked and pouted, “well, take this man’s order first and we’ll see what I do with it… Take the risk.” And with that, she took the change an went at the end of the bar to grab her coffee.
“Well, maybe not just a customer. More like...my favourite customer. Better?” Chloe winked at the other woman, and watched happily as she walked over to the bar to wait for her order. Even just walking, Beca was hot. Chloe felt her face flush happily at the step she was about to take, and gave a quick, ‘I’ll be with you in a minute’ to the man who had moved up to place his order.
Quickly, Chloe snatched up a cup and scrawled ‘Taking a risk. +1-561-508-9051 <3′, before passing it onto the barista and nodding towards Beca with a wink so he’d know who it was for. Then, at Beca, she made her hand into the shape of a phone and mouthed ‘call me’, before turning to finally return to work.

"Good morning and welcome to Bellas’s! What can I get you today?" Asked Chloe, a bright smile on her face as she took down her next customer’s order. It was only 9 am on a Monday morning, and already she had served eight grumpy, tired, people. And none of them were the grumpy, tired person she was waiting to see.
Working at Bella’s Coffee wasn’t exactly the most glamorous occupation in the world, and Chloe had known that when she’d accepted the summer job. Still, she needed the funds, and Chloe Beale was nothing if not an optimist- always able to find a silver lining, regardless of the situation. Her job at Bella’s Coffee was no different.
In this case, Chloe’s silver lining came in particularly small and snarky packaging. It came in the form of her favourite (and least friendly) regular; a short brunette by the name of Beca. Chloe didn’t actually know much about Beca: her first name, her coffee order, that she blushed at the slightest hint of flirting- and that she had a particularly sarcastic and hilarious sense of humour.
That, and she was super, super hot.
As the current customer paid and moved to collect their order, Chloe’s smile grew into a genuine grin at the sight of said tiny hottie. “Good morning, Beca! Your usual, today? And maybe my number, this time?”
❝ That’s amazing! Could you teach me that, sometime? ❞
“Are you making fun of me, Christine? A girl hits her head one time and even her best friend won’t give her sympathy. It’s not my fault I tripped. I was distracted!”
[open starter]
“Good morning snowfla- what the hell is that?”
In the past week, Beca found herself right in the heart of all the movies she refused to watch. First off, the underdogs managed to come up from behind and win. The freshman who thought there was no hope in the world for the Bellas at the beginning of the season managed to come out of the ICCA’s victorious. Not only that, once she’d gotten off stage, in true vomit-inducing fashion, Jesse congratulated her and kissed her. The guy got the girl he wanted - if only for a moment.
The only thing Beca cared to remember about him catching her off guard in a kiss was that he was nowhere as gentle as Chloe. He approached it as if she were a seasoned veteran, and instead of the comfort-filled sweetness that filled the brunette’s stomach whenever her and Chloe kissed, she was met with a tight knot. She’d looked up at him afterwards like a deer in the headlights, told him that she didn’t feel the same - her exact words were that she “couldn’t” which made her want to punch herself in the face - and then went back to the Bellas.
Now that all the celebration of their win had worn off, it was rearing the end of May and Beca wanted to help Chloe move out of the Bella house. With her graduating, she figured that she’d need to move all of her stuff out of her place and Beca was the one to want to help. Of course, Chloe hadn’t been too keen on replying to her texts, but that didn’t stop her from standing outside the redhead’s door, knocking three times before taking a step back and waiting.
Chloe should have been flying high after their win. And she was, sort of. She and Aubrey had been waiting for this day since freshman year, and they’d finally made it. The Bellas had actually won, and they’d done so with herself and Aubrey at the helm- how could she not be overjoyed? It’s just that her sense of elation over their win was somewhat subdued by what she’d seen moments after their win.
It’s not like she had any claim over Beca, or that the brunette wasn’t allowed to kiss whoever the hell she wanted to- it was just that Chloe hadn’t expected such a cliched, ‘boy gets girl’ moment between Beca and Jesse. Beca was hardly a ‘public movie moment’ kind of girl, so the grand celebration kiss had come as more than a shock to Chloe. Especially after all Beca had done to convince her that she didn’t have feelings for the Treblemaker. Especially given how much kissing she and Chloe had done as of late. They weren’t together, nor had they had any semblance of a ‘talk’ about what they were doing (Beca had a very nifty way to changing topics whenever they even got close to discussing what was going on), but Chloe had still felt her heart crumble more than a little as she watched the tiny brunette get swept up in Jesse’s arms.
Since then, she’d been doing her best to keep a happy face on- celebrating with Aubrey and the other girls, getting the Bella’s house ready for Aubrey to move out and the others to move in, and avoiding Beca’s texts as politely as possible. She hadn’t even told the girl she was staying on for another year, so she was more than a little surprised when she opened her door to find the girl standing there. “Uh...hey. Did we have plans?”
