[OOC: Where Iâve gone!]
February 14th [Closed RP]
âItâs hard not to take it personally,â she sighed, âbut donât worry Abed, it doesnât have to be perfect. Itâs just kinda nice to finally have a Valentine, yâknow?â
She twirled a lock of her hair around her index finger as her curiosity spiked, âYou only need an hour to create a perfect Valentineâs Day? Do you have random extravagant dates often...?â She giggled more to herself than to anything he had said. The idea of anybody doing something grand and over-thee-top for her was certainly something nobody else in the world had ever thought of. She was just Disney-faced, cardigan-wearing Annie. She wasnât a girl that she felt really stood out, she just kinda blended in unless grades were on the line. It was then that people noticed her. Hell, she could bring a B- project to an A++ (a grade that she didnât know existed until Greendale). Honestly, Annie was just thankful that Abed had said yes; she couldnât handle another rejection today.Â
Besides, seeing him so excited made her happy.
February 14th [Closed RP]
She had tried to keep up the smile to prove him wrong, but the moment Jeffâs name came up, Annieâs façade dropped. Of course Abed would be able to see right through her; she was probably a walking cliche. A girl who gets all dressed up only to be disregarded. It must have looked like the start of a bad coming of age movie.
âJeff doesnât care about Valentineâs Day,â she rolled her eyes. âIt feels a lot more like Single Awareness Day to me at this point.âÂ
Still, she wondered if Abed, at some level, felt as lonely as she did on Valentineâs Day. If it meant the separation of Troy and Abed, it had to be hitting him pretty hard, she supposed. It wouldnât be nice for either of them to be left out, so she pondered for a moment. She could always ask Abed to be her Valentine. Itâd make Abed feel like he was a part of those Rom-Coms he liked and Annie would be able to have a Valentine for the first time in her life...and if it made Jeff realize she was going to ask him originally and he felt guilty for making her upset, that would be a bonus.
Setting the bag of chocolate in front of him, she smiled brightly. Her ideas got a little too planned out and she constantly overanalyzed her situations, sure, but the thought made her so joyful she felt like she was a glee club member going to regionals.Â
âAbed,â she said, before grinning widely, âwould you like to be my Valentine?â
February 14th [Closed RP]
February 14th was a day that left Annie feeling conflicted.Â
She loved celebrating love; especially with friends and family, but she was never lucky enough to have a Valentine. High school was never kind to her, but she had thought college might be kinder. She was practically floating on cloud nine when she reached Jeffâs locker. Sure, it was childish, but cards were so heartfelt. Who wouldnât melt over someoneâs confessions of appreciation, admiration, or love? Annie had thought that it was endearing; that she might have a chance to really connect with the guy she felt this tension with. Certainly he had to feel something too, right?
She greeted the man warmly, as he did all but look up from his phone. He said hello; his fingers tapping quickly. She asked if he had plans for Valentineâs Day as she looked in her bag for his card.
He looked up and raised an eyebrow, sarcastically noting that Valentineâs Day was invented by greeting card companies and was only marketed towards grade school kids who bought popularity via Hersheyâs kisses and women who are too desperate to realize a card wonât change anything. Rolling his eyes and chuckling at his joke, he looked back down at his phone.
Annie giggled sadly, replying with, âHa, so no plans then? Thatâs surprising.â Feeling embarrassed, she quietly said goodbye and started walking to the Cafeteria. She figured she might as well rip up the card and eat the chocolate she had bought for him. Screw her for wanting to make a nice gesture, right? She knew it wasnât personal, he didnât know where she was going with things, but it still stung.Â
Valentineâs Day was the worst.
Abed was sitting in that very same cafeteria, sure Abed wasnât great at picking up social situations, but he knew what today was, and what it meant to the populus. It was Valentineâs Day at Greendale community college as well as all over the world. Abed didnât normally celebrate this holiday, religious reasons? No. Was it that he disagreed with the holiday in general like Jeff? No again. Abed normally spent this holiday alone watching romantic comedies for one reasonâ There wasnât anyone lining up to be his Valentine, and that sounds sad but he had sort of accepted it at this point, he enjoyed watching other people celebrate it with thier partners though, it was sweet. Abed sat at one of the many cafeteria tables alone at that moment, Troy had left because , not supringly he may add, Troy had gotten multiple Valentine invites, he had asked Abed to tag along just out of courtesy, but Abed passed, it was a nice gesture, but Abed knew he wasnât exacly the party type. Abed looked around the cafeteria, at all the couples scattered about, at all the paper hearts that hung as decorations on the wall, another Valentineâs day full of cheesy romantic comedies it seemed .
The tears threatened to well up, but she pushed them down, along with any other feelings her therapist would have told her not to bottle up when she was in rehab. Why did she volunteer to help put up all of these decorations, if all it did was remind her of how alone she was. She took the card from her bag and looked at the stupid lipstick kiss stain she added to the envelope. She had tried on 8 different lipsticks to find a shade that said, âText me, but like donât booty call me.â Not that it mattered. It wasnât like putting on lipstick, kissing a scratch piece of paper, and wiping it off 8 times made her lips hurt or anything. It wasnât like she was excited to see Jeff looking shocked; it wasnât like she had envisioned how heâd grin at the words she wrote him and how heâd say something stupid in a nice way. He would have called her a dork or said her age was showing, but he would have liked it.
No. That was all wishful thinking; she was drunk off the idea of Valentineâs meaning something more than meaningless sex and frat boys shooting foam arrows on campus.Â
Valentineâs Day was just February 14th this year, just as it had always been. She crumpled the card, but couldn't bring herself to throw it away. so she put it back in her bag.
Looking up, she saw a familiar silhouette in a sweater at a table. All alone.
âAbed?â Annie approached the table, bag of chocolates in hand. âAre you waiting for someone?âÂ
She smiled brightly; nobody could fake a smile like Annie.

The Move [Closed RP]
She couldnât contain her grin.
âCool,â she murmured, as she closed her eyes and her lips met his. She kissed him gently, as if the moment they shared was a sheet of glass and a wrong move could break the tenderness of it all. She focused on the feeling of his hand on hers and melted into the kiss; it was still hard to believe that this was all really happening, but Abed was really interested in her outside of her occasional usage of being a love interest for âplot developmentâ.
There was something so surreal about it all; she always assumed Abed was off-limits romantically- that he just couldnât connect to her in that way. Yet, when he looked at her the way he hadâŠit gave her goosebumps. Her free hand gently touched his cheek as she depended the kiss.
It felt as if time had frozen around them.
Abed wasnât sure of himself in the romantic area, this started because girls had always just sort of treated him like he was invisibleâ but this was so much different, but a good kind of different. Abed was happy, and unlike himself, he visibly showed it , as the kiss deepened he could fill himself smiling into the repeated kisses. This is the last thing Abed had expected, a ture twist ending, this threw him off more than finding out Bruce Willis was a ghost at the end of The Sixth Sense. But just like that movie, it was a very welcomed plow twist. Abed pulled away slowly, he knew they had to go at some point, Abed felt very good about the future for him and Annie, theyâd be like any other succesful sitcom coupleâ and he was sure of that.
âSo,â she spoke after a moment, letting everything sink in. âShow me the rest of the apartment?â
Annie had a good feeling about this; about living here with him and Troy and about this strange tension she had felt ever since paintball. Now all she had to worry about was how the study group was going to react.

The Move [Closed RP]
All of Annieâs stress seemed to melt away as he held her; her fingers weaving through his hair. Something had changed and although she wasnât certain, she felt she knew what it was. She had felt alone for a few weeks now; all of her friends had seemed to pair off with one another. Troy and Britta, Jeff and whoever he spent every minute texting on his Blackberry, and Shirley- well, Shirley was making things work.
There was something lonely in being the supportive friend. She always cheered her friends on, then returned to her dumpy little apartment in the bad part of town. Just hoping in the back of her mind that someone would notice; that she would be seen and rescued.
She wanted the kiss to last forever, but pulled away. She felt brave, but her hands fumbled with the bottom of her cardigan as she spoke up.
âHan? As much as I love kissing you, and I do really like kissing you, do you think I might be able to try kissing Abed?â
She didnât want to pretend anymore. The rooftop faded into the grid of the room. She felt vulnerable, but she was strong. She could handle the incoming rejection.Â
"Well, maybe we aren't leads. Not in the grand scheme of things, but I certainly wouldn't mind being the supporting characters that are happy together like," she paused to think of a good example, "Marshall and Lily from How I Met Your Mother? I mean, arguably the show's all about Ted, but Lily and Marshall seem to be just fine without that spotlight."
Annie smiled to herself, happy she was able to make a decent pop culture reference. She gazed back at his lips, biting her own in anticipation. She held his hand.
"Would it be alright if we kissed again before you showed me the rest of the apartment?"
If anybody told Annie what would hace happened when she moved in with Troy and Abed, she would have laughed and rolled her eyes. Standing in front of Abed now, she was still in a state of disbelief. Yet, she still found herself wondering how long they had misread each others feelings. It felt peculiar and incredible all at once.
