Annie couldn’t lie to herself, the bar was great for drinks but there was more than one reason she was always drawn back there and it had to do with the man behind the bar. David was funny and charming and she found herself wanting to go back and speak to him. He probably dealt with stuff like this all the time but she couldn’t help herself. Annie walked into the bar and smiled when she caught Davids eye, sitting on a stool by the bar. “Hey there.” She beamed to him.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ANNIE MURPHY
December 19, 1986

I don’t think they do honestly it really makes me wonder if they ever got that themselves. Like just call me or email me exactly what it is you want to say don’t leave me to my thoughts about what it all could be. Yes take out is the best because they don’t do the fancy plating or garnish that’s for looking not eating.
Right? Does anyone get that text and their mind does not go to the worst case scenario because I am convinced they are superhuman. Exactly. It comes in the box, you can eat it out the box and that’s all that’s left. It’s perfect.
socialxlizzie:
Oh my god mine has done that to me before and I was like no if I call you I’m going to start crying the moment you say kiddo. Oh no you are not alone in any of this. I don’t know but it is down right evil because I will eat whatever gets put in front of me.
They just don’t get it, do they? They try their hardest but they just don’t get it when they create unnecessary panic. That makes me feel better. It is. Honestly, I would be happy with a take out over some fancy dish any day.
socialxlizzie:
Oh god me too, you can not start of sentences like that with me. I will instantly fear the worse and start crying about it. Like there is a lot we can talk about, please use a happier tone if starting a sentence that way. I have bitten into a foam piece that apart of a salad once because it looked like food.
Yes! I hate it. My dad is the worst for it. He will text me like “call me asap” and I panic and then he just wants to know how to print something. Yes, please. I am glad I am not the only one who feels like that. See, why would they give you that when its not part of the meal?
socialxlizzie:
I struggle so much at work if I get called into the office for anything, like I am able to keep myself in check in front of clients but my boss is another story. Yes I am the exact same because trust me you would rather me order in then attempt to make anything myself. You know I never understood the garnish that gets put on plates that you aren’t supposed to eat, like why are you putting it in front of me around food then?
Oh, I totally get you there. Anyone says ‘can we talk?’ or ‘do you have a moment?’ and I feel my heart sinking like nothing else. Even if it is something as simple as asking me to cover someone. Oh, exactly. ‘That’s just for decoration’ like, then put it in the centerpiece. If it’s on the plate, I am going to eat it.

Oh quiet judgement is way worse than the ones that actually call it out to you, like if I have to look over my shoulder and see you shaming me I’m kicking you out. I think I’m too scared to actually cook for anyone though because I would cry if I made something they didn’t like. I’ve done that so many times where I forgot to set the timer so it became a guessing game and smelling the air to see if it’s burning. I just don’t understand unless you’re like purposely doing it for instagram photographs or something then there is no point for your fancy designs.
Exactly. And I am that person who will cry if I feel that someone is judging me for doing something wrong, so I would much rather be alone for that. Oh, yeah. If someone comes over to my place we are ordering take out because I do not want to put myself in that pressure. Exactly, like just let me enjoy the food.
socialxlizzie:
Oh I kick anyone out if they come in the kitchen while I’m in there, like I’m a bad enough cook I don’t need someone watching as I fail. I cook with headsets in which a lot of the time is bad because then I can’t hear the alarm go off. Oh god me either! Like it’s not necessary at all just give me the food i’m just going to ruin what you spent hours on doing.
Yes! I totally get this. Like I know I am doing something wrong but I don’t need you to tell me what I am doing wrong or look at me with judging eyes. Oh man, last time I tried to cook, I forgot to even set a timer, so trying to guess when I put it in was a nightmare. Exactly! Like, you spent so much time on it for me just to crash a fork into it?
socialxlizzie:
I don’t understand how people can purposely put themselves into those situations it’s insane. I will stay in my kitchen where no one can tell me that what I just may or may not be the correct way. Oh gosh I hate when I burn accidentally burn grilled cheese or worse making it thinking that you have tomato soup and not having it. I’d be out for some how burning water. I haven’t had a night like this in ages it’s going to be nice.
I know. Like If I am cooking I like to be in the kitchen, by myself, and have my music up way too loud so I can have something to blame it on if it goes wrong. Also I never understood the whole fancy plating of the food? Like, I am just going to eat it so I really don’t get the big fuss about the plates look.

Moving to a town after my little sister leaves me feeling some kind of way. I still haven’t told her I’m here so she doesn’t think I’m like… stalking her or something. Someone out there tell me you feel this way about your siblings too.
Oh my god, I knew you were gonna follow me. You know if you missed you could have just, like, sent a basket of mini muffins or something.

“Eh, you just gotta be a special kind of crazy to be a firefighter,” he chuckled with a small shrug. He had spent a lot of years being a firefighter and he was proud of the work he did, but never had gotten used to any sort of praise for it. “I can think up a few stories to tell ya though,” he added, not wanting it to seem like he was trying to brush her off. He beamed with pride though as she commented on his kids. “My pride and joy. Both of em…” he replied, smiling at the phone briefly before putting it away. “But I’m sure all parents say that, am I right?” he asked.
“I’ll bet.” She said with a small laughter in her voice. She had so much respect for people who would do that job. “Well, I hope I get to hear them one day.” She smiled brightly. Annie couldn’t imagine the stories he could tell and she would not pass up getting to hear them. She could tell how proud he was of his kids, it was so nice to see. “Yeah but not all kids are as cute as yours.” She smiled, taking another sip. One disadvantage of her job was she got to spend time with parents before the birth but very rarely got to see the children once they were born.
