Cory struggled with substance abuse issues since he was nineteen. That’s twelve years, over a decade, of fighting. I know media outlets and other places will try and shame him for how he died, but he was, is, and always shall be a hero to those who tried so hard to get better because that’s what he was always doing — he was always trying to fight and get better. He had a relapse and it was a terrible thing, but it doesn’t make him a bad person.
