Happy New Year!

This is my first post, but I thought with the new year and all of that, this would be a good time to share how much Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries and its fan community has meant to me.  Last December I moved by myself from a large city to a small town for a job.  I have spent this past year feeling very isolated.  I discovered Miss Fisher on Netflix last spring and things reached a fevered pitch for me when my best friend traveled the three hours to see me and we spent 4th of July weekend watching all of Season 2 on Acorn TV in one sugar and adrenaline fueled bender.  (It ended with us jumping up and down in my living room screaming obscenities at Aunt P.)  This show has provided the perfect escape for all of the reasons we all know and adore it for, which I hope to elaborate on in future posts, but I’ve also loved getting to feel part of a worldwide community of like-minded people while alone in this town.  I’m so grateful to all of you.  I think of you as my imaginary friends as much as I do Phryne, Jack, Dot, and Hugh, but since you have the advantage of not being fictional, I wanted to reach out and try to express how much you’ve meant to me during this difficult year.  I will try my best to post and interact with the community going forward, although I’m usually bad at it.  I wish you all the best in the coming year.  May Season 3 bring us everything we wish for, including a Season 4.

This was my very first post, from January 4, 2015. I’ve debated how cheesy it would be to reblog it, but I decided I might as well, while it’s still January 4, 2016 here. This past year on Tumblr… I could never have predicted the things I’ve done and how much this whole experience has meant to me. I was in such a different place last year, both geographically and emotionally. I mention Phryne, Jack, Dot, and Hugh being my imaginary friends. What I actually meant by that was that I was so miserable that I would take bathroom breaks at work and mouth their names in the stall as a mantra to try to keep myself from crying. Living in that town made me feel worthless and alone every single day. I have a long history of lurking on social media. I read every post on the Buffy AOL message board for years, but I think I only posted twice. My following to follower ratio on Twitter is hilarious. This is the first time I’ve ever actually made friends online. I was terrified to write my first post. My heart used to pound every time I posted anything, but each time I was a little bit brave I was met with a wave of kindness. I slowly learned to expect kindness in response to what I had to offer, which was new for me. I try to say it often, but I am honestly grateful for all of you every single day. You’ve gone from imaginary friends to actual acquaintances to actual friends. I’ve shared things with some of you that I’ve never shared with any of my RL friends. I message with some of you more than I do with any of my RL friends. I’ve tried so many new things inspired nominally by the phrase “What would Phryne do?” but actually by your encouragement. It feels weird to mention, but I feel I should: I’ve lost 50 lbs since last January, inspired by the way this fandom has made me feel about valuing myself. The holidays were a little counterproductive, but even today some of your messages gave me the boost I needed to get back at it.

I can only conclude this soppiness with what Dot said: You taught me so many things, and you made me brave, and you made me happy.

Happy 2016! 

We want to wish everyone of you a happy 2016, may that be your year. It´s been such a fun ride for us with this blog. A blog that was created out of the urge to deal with all the MFMM feelings and that was never intended to become as serious as it is now. But fate meant it differently. Now, a couple of months later, we are not one but two who take care of this blog and are still blogging along happily and spreading the love for this wonderful tv show. Thanks so much for all the support you have given us. We truly appreciate it. Cheers, for a happy 2016 and a new season of MFMM. ✨

Miss Fisher Alternative Phrack Titles (S2E8)

Original = The Blood of Juana the Mad Alternative = I Don’t Want You to Go; I Need You to Go

This line is URST at its best. Jack Robinson is a man of principle, a Man of Honor. He tried to exercise self-discipline to keep a safe distance between them, but she was so darn clever, complicated, and captivating that he couldn’t pull himself away.

His head was telling him that she was right; solving crimes was what they did best together. Without her, he wouldn’t have done it as easily or as quickly. His heart, on the other hand, was begging to be spared of the heartache by allowing her in his life.

At the end, the head reconciled with the heart, somewhat. He agreed to continue their “dance”, but instead of accepting the invitation to tango (powerful and passionate, more her style), he was set on waltz (slow and close, definitely his style).

Seriously, I WANT you to be together, and I NEED you to be together.
