COMMIT THESE TO FAITHFUL MEN
âAnd the things that you have heard from me among many witnesses, commit these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also.â
2 Timothy 2:2 (NKJV)
READ: Philippians 4:8,9; 2 Timothy 2:1-7
One important thing about the knowledge of God and His kingdom is that the knowledge is not meant to be concealed. For the knowledge of God to be beneficial, you should be able
to give it away. When you try to keep knowledge, it becomes stale. Timothy was admonished to commit what he had learned to faithful men who will be able to teach others (2 Timothy 2:2).
God does not duplicate His efforts. When someone is taught by God, He would want the person to in turn teach others about what He has taught him.
Thus, knowledge is not meant for keeping. Whatever you know, which has helped you in your Christian journey or life, such should be taught to others.
Christian living is all about sacrifice. You will labour to pray and study the Word of God, and after said and done, whatever you are equipped with, you would be required to teach it to others. The more you teach others what you are taught by God, the more the knowledge that would be given to you.
You cannot hide or hoard the knowledge of God, it should be taught to others. Apostle Paul in our text was telling Timothy to commit what he has heard or learnt from him to other faithful men who will be able to in turn teach othersâthose who will be able to pass the knowledge on to others.
If you are privileged to be taught by someone and you are practising the word of God and you are becoming mature in the things of the spirit; God will expect you to benefit or bless others with that your knowledge. Pass it on!
Peace.
Reflect:
⢠Who has God positioned you to teach or mentor with what youâve already learned?
