So I was looking at the MegamiTensei wiki and found these lovely models. Can someone please explain to me why IMAGINE of all things keeps making 3d models of demons we want to see in 3d that we can never have? The Fafnir looks so badass!
Also other demons that are apparently in Imagine but I didn’t see a model are Abraxas,Sphinx, and Black Maria.
@eirikrjs Baal finally made another 3d appearance along with some others that were in Nine.
Part 1 of ‘How I Draw Background Perspectives’
This took me a while to finish. I did this in paint with a computer mouse. The link for part 2 is down below.

Hi! I was wondering how you did the glitchy art like you did on that Sans drawing.
HIYA! So doing glitches isn’t too difficult, especially for the Error!Sans drawing I did. So I guess to start, I’ll tell you how to make the look, and then how to animate it.
So to create the look, you just need to pick and area of the drawing you want to glitch up. So let’s take his leg:
Then I use the rectangular selection tool (M), holding down SHIFT to select more than one area at once, and select out some long(ish) rectangles in various spots overlapping with the drawing.
Then I fill them in with what ever color the boxes are touching.
Then I go back and select a few more spots…. and delete/erase the area.
So it’s really as simple as that. But you can mess around with multiple layers of rectangles. Get crazy, use filters like Noise or use blending modes to change the look.
So next, if you wanted to make an animation with the glitches you make, you just need to make a few more frames of different glitches in the same area. So for Error, here were the 3 frames I made:
Now, I use Photoshop to put together little animations like this, but you could probably use Fire Alpaca or Krita or even a gif generator. But if possible, mess around with the timing and order of the frames you make. It’ll make for a different feel, so experiment until you find what you want.
I hope this helps a bit! I kinda tend to ramble..
due to many requests I’ve finally released some of my tutorials from Patreon on to Gumroad! c:
the packs range in price from $0-$10! there are free/pay-what-you-want packs available with brushes, tutorials and layered .PSDs.
you can use the code teacake for 10% off for the next couple of days! I really hope that they’re helpful and thank you so much for the support :D
hello hello~~ i kinda have trouble when drawing creases/lines on the face like smile creases or lines under the eye without making the person look significantly older...but i feel like something is kinda missing without them? do you have any advice/tips? thank you very much! ^^
I think what’s important to understand is that drawing is fundamentally different than rendering: with drawing lines, it’s much more binary. By that, I mean that with lines, you are only given basically black and white to use, so you have to be selective about which lines you choose to represent. Lines don’t exist in real life, only changes in value and color, which are simplified and abstracted when you draw lines to represent those value changes.
So, when you are drawing, you have to choose what lines are most important, and which ones are not. Facial creases are generally quite fine details, so depending on the complexity of your piece, I would advise to ignore them or be very careful, and use a light line weight. Also, don’t try to go too far into “this is a cheek, so I need to draw a line for the cheek here.” Just focus on areas of contrast and representing tonal differences with your lines.
A good way to judge whether or not you should include such lines is to try to blur your eyes while looking at a reference. If you can still tell apart the difference between tones, draw a line. If not, ignore it.
I know that’s a wordy explanation so here it is visually on one of my current WIPs (hoseok :D) This is a good exampling because he’s smiling so widely, there’s a lot of creases appearing on his face.
You can see I still chose to include certain details like his dimple and his double eyelid folds. Because I could still clearly see his under-eye bags and a bit of his cheeks, I drew those in lightly.
The same thing applies when you are painting, just be very careful in your contrast. Chances are, you’re painting the creases too dark. It doesn’t take much of a darker shade to get the job done.
Notice how I chose to omit the lines when I started shading. This illustrates what I was talking about earlier- the shift from line drawing to tone rendering. Had I kept the lines, the black lines against the soft grey of the skin would read too dark, and started looking like the example on the left again.
This concept can apply to a lot of details in general (teeth, clothing textures, and fingernails are common things I see people struggle with ), not just facial creases. So I hope this helps!
Channelling Spring Stormwater: Success!
I’ve written quite a bit about this project, because it was the main challenge in making this corner of the garden workable.
Every year, the grass plane pictured would be flooded in late winter and early spring, which made me afraid to plant too many trees in this side of the garden. Beyond pears, there aren’t a lot of fruit trees that tolerate standing water.
As such, I’ve done a lot of work with hügelkultured bioswales, and made a semi-permeable (ie. “leaky”) pond. It’s turned out that together, these two additions have the capacity to hold the entirety of the spring runoff.
Swales
You can read about the swales in this archive. They are far from finished, because work on lining them stopped when the wet winter set in, but nonetheless, they hold a huge amount of water.
This is what they look like in summer:
Once I finally finish them up, all the water from around the house will be piped into them via a french drain.
Pond
Most of the posts about the pond are here. It looks small, but it’s very deep. I’m allowing it to grow more or less “wild” in order to encourage mallards to move in.
This is what it looks like in summer:
It’s surrounded by trees, and planted with a whole mess of different semi-aquatic irises (1, 2), so hopefully the ducks that scope out the yard every year actually move in to the nesting box we have built for them.
They were swimming in it before it was finished.
Their ducklings should be nice and sheltered, and also have a place to swim and dabble.
I’m actually surprised to see that a few simple landscape fixes could fix such an enormous problem. I honestly thought I would have to do more digging to make this work.
Now, this entire side of the yard is open for tree-planting, whereas before I had only been planting the perimeter, and on little elevated hügelkultur “islands.”
More trees will further improve water permeation and groundwater recharge, as their roots make drainage channels through the clay subsoil. In a few years, even the worst rainfall likely won’t flood this space for more than a few days.
