“My therapist taught me to interrupt my anxious thinking with thoughts like: “What if things work out” and “What if all my hard work pays off?” So, I’m passing that onto you wherever you are, whatever you’re leaving, or whomever you’re becoming.”
— Sinclair P. Ceasar III (via pearlkillers)
Hamilton Valentines
Featuring Hamilton, Eliiiiiza, Burr, Angelica, Jefferson, and Washington!
Happy birthday to @linmanuel! LMM mentioned on Twitter that he’d prefer donations to charities over gifts. I’m not in a position to give a lot, but Hamilton has reminded me why I got a degree in history so I would like to do something to help in any way I can!
50% of all Hamilton valentine sales through Valentine’s Day will be donated to Broadway Cares! I’ll be sure to screenshot the donation and post it up here with updates!
Here are the charities LMM linked to if you want to give directly:

“Baby Elephant Pattern”
One of the most amazing things that can happen is finding someone who sees everything you are and won’t let you be anything less. They see the potential of you. They see endless possibilities. And through their eyes, you start to see yourself the same way. As someone who matters. As someone who can make a difference in this world. If you’re lucky enough to find this person, never let them go.

#TBT: Bubblegum Bitch by Marina and the Diamonds
I was going to do a different song for this week’s TBT, but I threw on Marina’s second album, Electra Heart, on my commute today and I forgot how pumped this whole album gets me (save for a few near the end). “Bubblegum Bitch” is probably one of Marina’s more theatrical songs, and it definitely comes with an explosive performance (but seriously, she always performs “Bubblegum Bitch” first at a concert and it’s fucking lit).
I still love the whole concept behind Electra Heart. I’m a little disenchanted admittedly by the way Marina has tried to distance herself from the work, but I think there’s something to say about the project’s biting critique on gender and power and love. “Bubblegum Bitch” is as abrasive in its lyrics as it is in title: “I’ll chew you up, I’ll spit you out/ ‘cause that’s what young love is all about.” The persona that sings these songs is out to break some hearts—she’s disinterested, detached, and unconcerned with the idea of falling in love, but making those boys around her fall for her and getting whatever kind of fun she can out of the experience.
This isn’t to say Marina is a heartless bitch, but the whole album explodes the idea of protecting your heart and playing it cool into this cartoonish alter ego to get a poignant point across—and in it she uses the female body, beauty, and its ability to contain multiple personalities to point out the societal and ideological problematics of gender roles and the expectations of women.
I was at Hot Topic and saw this cool tshirt for some band or something called Bring Me the Horizon and idk what bring me the horizon is and don’t really care but the shirt is cute so i’ll wear it
This was an experiment. See how people started getting mad at me for “buying” a Bring Me The Horizon shirt, when I said I really knew nothing about them? How I said I bought it simply because I thought it was cute? Completely disregarding who the band was?
This is how people from other cultures feel when you purchase and wear garb from their culture with no knowledge of what that garb symbolizes and means. If you wear or use something for the wrong reasons, people get mad.
This has got to be by far one of the best ways to explain cultural appropriation to people.
I’ve been itching to share this for a while now. My last project was Cinderella, and since there’s already one version of Cinderella for Far Faria, I decided to do a Filipino version version just to mix it up.

this makes me happy :)
Aladdin, 1992
The opening scene with the street merchant was completely unscripted. Robin Williams was brought into the sound stage and was asked to stand behind a table that had several objects on it and a bed sheet covering them all. The animators asked him to lift the sheet, and without looking take an object from the table and describe it in character. Much of the material in that recording session was not appropriate for a Disney film.
“Combination hookah and coffee maker, also makes julienne fries! It will not break! It will not- …. it broke.”
that line used to just kill me as a kid and now it’s better because it was unscripted and he probably broke the prop
Have you ever thought about how Harry wasted a huge opportunity when he dropped the Resurrection Stone in the Forbidden Forest?
Okay just imagine if he had kept it.
He dies, comes back, defeats Voldemort…
Only now there are over one-hundred people who have died in just The Battle of Hogwarts alone. Not to mention all of those names that were read on the radio throughout the year. (And everyone else who died before then.)
So the Golden Trio gets this idea…
They quickly spread the word and pretty soon, Harry sets up a room in Hogwarts with nothing in it but a desk and a chair. He sits in the chair behind the desk and calls people into the room one at a time.
Harry insists that the Weasleys be the first to enter. And so George walks in, puffy-eyed but smiling, and asks Harry what the big secret is.
Harry then plops an ordinary pebble into George’s hand.
George is very confused until he hears his name being whispered from behind him. George turns and of course there’s Fred. And the two twins are able to properly say goodbye to one another.
Harry then allows the entire Weasley family to come in and they all huddle around Fred’s spirit and are able to say goodbye. And of course Mrs. Weasley drags Harry out from behind the desk and he joins the family hug.
Are you crying yet?
Because I am.
But let’s keep going.
Mrs. Weasley’s hand brushes against the stone and Fabian and Gideon appear to say goodbye to their sister.
After the Weasleys finally leave, Harry brings Dennis in so that he can say goodbye to Colin.
Harry then individually brings in the family member(s) of the unnamed one-hundred students who died during the Battle of Hogwarts.
Harry then brings in Luna so that she can say goodbye to her mother.
He brings in pretty much all of Hogwarts so that they can say goodbye to Cedric.
He brings in Aberforth so that he can say goodbye to Albus and Ariana.
He brings in those who want to say goodbye to Snape.
He brings in Kreacher so that he can say goodbye to Regulus.
He brings in the rest of the house-elves so that they can say goodbye to Dobby.
And when Harry is done letting everyone else say goodbye to their loved ones, he closes his hand around the stone.
The first one to appear is a beautiful white owl who flies over to Harry and allows herself to be affectionately petted.
Then of course the others appear, just as they did in the Forbidden Forest on that fateful night. Harry doesn’t talk to them for too long, he’s grown up a lot since the Mirror of Erised, but he is able to make peace with his loved ones’ sacrifices.
And even then, he still keeps the stone.
He doesn’t use it again. Not personally, anyway. In fact, he stores it in a dusty box on the mantel in his house. He doesn’t use it. But he doesn’t forget it, either. Because he needs it for one last task.
And when the boy with the turquoise hair is old enough to understand, Harry gently sits him down and places a stone in his hand.
And Teddy Lupin meets Remus and Nymphadora.
Okay I wasn’t crying til that last one
why are you doing this TO ME
