ooc;
Hi friends! (Sorry this had to be a text post - I don't think I received a link to an OOC blog, if there is one in existence).
I'm Ria, if you didn't know! But this is kinda of very impromptu - my computer's hard drive failed yesterday, so for the time being I'm bouncing around on my other computers (which are super slow). I'm currently using my brother's desktop to type this up.
My activity will definitely be a little scattered, but my computer should be up and running in a couple days.
Thanks for being patient!
P.S.
I would really love a link to the OOC blog, if you guys have one. If not, ignore this. :)
"I don’t know how you all do it," he addressed her with a bit of respect as the essay was pushed a bit further from his mind. "You, James, Sirius. How can you all not worry about these things, even the slightest bit, then still get good marks?”
"Marlene, I had a girlfriend last year, shouldn’t that be enough? I don’t really mind the gossip too much, you know. Some of the rumours are actually quite funny. Most of the time.”
"Fair marks," Marlene corrected. "In my case, I barely got E's on my O.W.L.s, last year, and the only O I happened to get was in Defense Against the Dark Arts, and that was because Gideon helped me... study for them."
"On that note - if your work is so worrisome, why don't you ask Emmeline for help?" Marlene asked harmlessly. She had maintained rather healthy relationships with her exes after breaking it off, save for Gideon, whom she still hadn't talked with. It never struck her that some people might not be willing to ask their previous partners for favors.
"It has to be done," Remus replied, adding a bit of gravity for dramatic affect. His own papers were hard to focus on, so he chose to take minute to clear his head.
“I don’t have love affairs. Afraid you’ll have to ask James or Sirius if you want details about love lives,” he said, giving his head a dismissive shake. He had too many things on his plate to worry about, his friends to keep company, love affairs never really wound their way up into his head.
"I haven't even started mine yet," Marlene said, coolly. Her lack of motivation came off as laid-back, rather than lazy. "Slughorn is convinced that I have some kind of genius that I haven't 'tapped into'," Marlene laughed, the idea itself absurd.
"Oh Rem," Marlene sighed. "If you don't get a girlfriend soon, Rita Skeeter will probably start spreading some horrendous gossip about you."
"Thank you," the wink got a head shake and smile in return. Really, he was used to Marlene’s company so he had a good understanding of her gestures. All in good fun.
Remus moved a bit so she could get a better look at his Potions essay.”Sadly, this is just Potions work. I tend to keep my love affairs away from things as traceable as paper,” Remus provided.
"That's a sorry shame," Marlene said with a nod and a grin. Upon him telling her that it was just an assignment for class, Marlene had lost interest in his papers.
"So where do you keep your love affairs?" she asked with a teasing tone. Marlene had a few ideas, but most of them were quite gaudy, and she didn't want to bother Remus too much.
"I meant in general. Can’t you just leave me to my work?"
"Which class?"
"No more than the usual illogicality of how our homework is assigned. Can I help you?"
"With my homework? No thanks, I don't do it, anyways."
"Thank you."
Remus heeded the ‘heads up’ and caught the inkwell with both hands before setting it back down at the table. “Nice toss.”
"Nice catch," she replied with a wink. It was a gesture she performed quite a bit, and Marlene was sure that she had done it enough times in Remus's presence that she didn't have to tell him that it meant nothing.
Leaning over and turning her head so that she could figuring out what he was doing, Marlene gave up. "I don't know if you're doing your Potions work or if you're writing a love letter," Marlene commented.
You can’t give us a piece of text to translate and expect the translation to be a certain length of parchment. It doesn’t work like that.
"Something wrong, Bellatrix?"
"Do you think you could pass me the ink, please?"
"Only because you said 'please'."
Marlene grabbed a capped inkwell from the desk next to them, carefully tossing it for Remus to catch. "Heads up."
