They tell you that it gets easier after high school. Like most of what people tell us about dentists and medical procedures, it sure is not. University life gets difficult and more complicated albeit all the free time we have (e.g. three-hour long lunch breaks in between classes squandered on nothing). But I guess what they, who ever they really are, means to say that it gets easier...with people. It seems as though in college, we find our niche in the school and find a set of people or even things that make us work hard and actually take on extra responsibilities just because we like doing such things for them. We find a purpose to drive ourselves raving mad during those sleepless nights when we try to decide whether to do school work or to do organizational work.

Well, that's college.

Like most romantic comedies, there seems to be a big question mark on what comes after this euphoric picture of working hard for something you love. After college, we are pushed into this vast world called "real world" and we end up stuck between many, many paths and we start to question ourselves for who we are now and who we want to be in the future. It becomes difficult to keep up with these dreamy lives we used to have in our lush campuses back in our student days. We wanted these ideal lives and yet when we try to chase them, a part of us gets torn when we get rejected for interviews or job offers. It is a dog-eat-dog world out here and yet, we grapple with the task of deciding if we eat a dog or remain with our principles. Of course, there are those lucky ones who have found their ideal place in life early on. However, for the likes of me who still has no clue what to do in life...well, that's a different story altogether.

I don't know where I'm going from here but one thing's for sure, it is difficult.

But I'm also a tough cookie (well, I try to be).
