Erin. If you say so. Still feels a little weird to me. Did you ever consider getting a social media manager? Someone to operate maybe a facebook & a twitter for the Brew? It might reach more of the younger crowd. Hell, maybe you could film a commercial.

If it weren’t for their rivalry, Caley could probably forgive Mona a lot easier. She could try to ‘let bygones be bygones’, but it’d take work. For Hanna, she’d try.

“Risk analyst. Can’t really blame her for not talking about it; I’m not allowed to say who I work for, technically. Just that I’m finding the flaws in their tech before someone who wants to do actual harm does.”

It was understood that the two of them didn’t like each other. They never had, and it was more than just Hanna. They had personalities that clashed, despite having a great deal in common. Mona would probably never like Caley, and it was hard after years spent hating her to try to feel any other way.

As the other woman explained what she did for a living, Mona grinned. “That sounds right up your alley. They pay you to hack them? Pretty cool.”

“I will add you to the mailing list then.” Spencer made a note of that in her agenda, then checked everything filled in for the day. After checking her watch for the time, she realized she was cutting it close leaving for an appointment she had on the other side of time. “I should get going, actually,” she said, smiling up at Mona briefly before starting to put everything securely away in her bag, then hoisting the strap over her head as she got to her feet. Strange, how quick time had gone by, and how she didn’t want to actually leave at all. She sure had come a long way from despising one Mona Vanderwaal. “But it’s a small town, so I’m sure I’ll bump into you again soon. And you’ve got my number–” she smiled wistfully, remembering she had never voluntarily given her phone number, but that was neither here nor there now. “So—don’t be a stranger.”

“I’m sure,” Mona nodded, smiling at the other woman. “I’ll talk to you soon, Spencer. It was good to see you.” It felt weird to genuinely mean that. But out of all Hanna’s friends, Spencer was the one Mona had always connected to the most. They shared an intensity, a particular brand of genius, and a past involving Radley. She felt like the other side to her coin, in some way. She watched as Spencer got up and she did the same, grabbing her purse and offering Spencer a small wave before walking off in the opposite direction.

Despite the smile that came to Aria’s face, she still had to wonder whether or not what Mona said was some sort of backhanded comment. She decided not to treat it as such. “Well, even with…everything going on, I still like to wait until at least five p.m. before getting ‘sloshed’,” she replied. The benefit of her personal life being displayed on national news for all to see was that Aria didn’t have to keep repeating the story of the pathetic situation she currently found herself in. The downfall of it being on the news was that everyone knew about it – whether she wanted them to or not. At this point, Aria felt like she could trust Mona. She hadn’t been given a reason not to in at least five years, after all. “We’re adults now. I-I’m willing to put all that stuff in the past, if you are,” Aria shrugged, making a gesture toward the chair next to her in an offering to Mona. “If Hanna had her say on the menu, which I’m sure she did, then they have cheese fries,” she chuckled, eyes scanning the area for a waiter. Once she found one, Aria flagged them over and ordered herself a refill. “And whatever she’s having,” the brunette concluded.

“I would like nothing more.” Mona answered earnestly, lighting up as she took the seat next to Aria. First Spencer, now Aria. She was getting the forgiveness she’d always hoped for. She chuckled at the comment about Hanna before ordering a drink and a basket of fries for them to share. When the waiter left them to their own devices again, Mona turned toward her former classmate. “I really love your new hair cut, Aria. It suits you. And the ombre thing. Very nice.” She complimented, picking up her drink when it was brought out and taking a sip. “Do you ever think about how strange it is, people voluntarily staying at the Radley? Not that long ago you would’ve had to be checked in....” There was a special kind of irony in being here again after the transformation, but she was pleased to see Hanna’s mom had done well with the place. It was strange being here but at least it wasn’t haunting. “Are you staying here? I’m actually staying with my mom for the time being.”

You’d think my writer’s block would disappear after the last week and a half, but no, of course not. In other news, does anyone have any coffee combination ideas? I’ve got a few ideas but more would be wonderful, especially as we head into the summer at the Brew.

“If only I’d held onto Caley longer, huh?” It was a joke, and though she had made up with both Hanna and Caley about it, there was just a pinch of bitterness to it. After all, she had really come to love Caley, and it had hurt to be cheated on. They were moving past that now, but she could imagine the situation would keep on hurting for Mona. ALl that time and she had never known. Guess Rosewood would always hold more secrets than even she was privy to. “I still keep expecting it will. After all these years, how can it just be over, right? I keep thinking someone else is going to pop out of the woodwork and start it all over again.” That was undoubtedly the PTSD speaking—truly, they probably needed help. Wasn’t it just a bitch that precisely the place that could had been turned into a hotel and bar? Those kinds of thoughts never spiraled into anything positive and productive though, so she grasped for the first new topic she could think of. “The Mayor’s Office is organizing a blood drive and we’re still in need of some volunteers. Would you possibly be interested? I was going to ask Hanna, too.” The last sentence, after she’d spoken it, felt almost manipulative—but it was the truth nonetheless. “There’s supposed to be a picnic afterwards for all the volunteers, if that sways your decision.”

“If only.” She mumbled wistfully before staying quiet. As Spencer admitted she kept expecting for things to go wrong, Mona nodded. It was hard to believe there wouldn’t just be someone willing to pick up where the last one left off. It was hard to really believe the game was over. She used to get some kind of sick thrill from figuring it all out. It reminded her a little of what it had been like to be A. Though she hadn’t been in her right mind then, she had been addicted to the feeling she got from it. It was likely something she would always miss, being able to have power over someone else. She felt bizarrely powerless these days and it wasn’t a feeling she liked. Mona perked back up when Spencer mentioned the blood drive. “Oh, definitely.” She answered quickly, smiling at the addition of Hanna. “And that’s a nice bonus.”
