I’m doing a College Football Challenge to kick off my fundraising efforts for Light the Night this year! Please watch the video above and follow the links below to get involved and donate!
FAQs:
1) How will I know that you’re holding up to your end of the deal?
I’ll post links to ALL of my social media so you can check it throughout August to make sure it’s in the winning team’s colors and mascot. All the link I’m posting are public profiles (except the fb that’s for just family/friend). However, my facebook PAGE will be in the team’s colors. You’ll be able to see my profile and cover photo on my private account as well. Also, I will post pics on IG, FB, Twitter, Tumblr, etc every week so you’ll see me in the winning team’s gear.
2) But if the Gators win, it’s not big deal cause you’re already a fan.
Regardless of which team’s fans donate the most money, it’s definitely A BIG DEAL! All of that money goes to cancer research and patient/family education and care. But if you’re that worried about it, donate enough to make sure your team wins!
3) Does Light the Night REALLY put the money to cancer research or does it just go to the employees?
Light the Night is a fundraising effort for the Leukemia and Lymphoma society. A break down of how the money is spent is on their respective pages (all links at the bottom). Around 77.6% of the money raised goes directly to research and patient/family care education. That’s WAY, WAY higher than most charity/fundraisers. A quick google search will prove that.
4) What if I can’t donate until after July 31st?
That’s fine! You won’t be counted for the College Football Challenge but there might be a few more fun things coming up! :)
5) I can only donate a dollar.
EVERY. SINGLE. PENNY. COUNTS. It could be your dollar that puts your favorite team in for the win. Or better, your dollar could be the one needed to fund a breakthrough study or help a patient.
6) Can I share this video and get my friends to donate to your page?
ABSO-FREAKING-LUTELY!!!! Share, share away!!! Do whatever you can to spread the word. Get your friends involved. Everyone pitch in a dollar or some change and make a joint donation to the page for your favorite team!
7) What if my favorite team isn’t featured in the video? Are they still in the running?
Well, I couldn’t name ALL the college football teams and keep the video under 3 minutes. But OF COURSE you can donate/vote in favor of ANY college football team.
8) Can I donate/vote for Liverpool FC?
…I knew I should have started last month with the World Cup. This challenge is for College Football in America, not international Futbol. But you can still donate because you’re an awesome person!
9) How are you going to get another team’s paraphernalia if you’ve always been a Gator fan?
I’m going to go to a store and buy it. I’m lucky to have a lot of friends/family who are big college football fans. So maybe someone will have some tees and accessories I can borrow. Otherwise, I’ll just pick something up.
10) What are you going to do with another team’s stuff at the end of the season?
Well, depends. If another team has fans awesome enough to put them in the lead, then maybe I’ll become a fan of that team as well.
