Minimal movie poster -Â Alien: CovenantÂ
Concepts: At first I want to do the pose from brainstorm 1 and 2, but I find that these are really usual way to make the poster. So, I change to the third one. I add the square between alien and the text because I find that its really hard to draw the feet and hands. Also, this is a kind of style for me to have a square in photos or something else. The reason I use these color because first, the green and black combination is the classic color of alien movie. Second, it seems to be the cyber punk style which I really like it.Â
Techniques: Choose one of my favorite alien pictures and use pen tool to draw one.
Tools: Select tool, direct select tool, Pen tool, dropper, merge.
Issues and problem sloving:
Some curve is hard to draw and change by point. Ex- arm, elbow. I tried to add some point on my curve and used direct select tool to change, but it is not that useful. Some place can not be fixed.
No history window: I always realize I did something wrong after many steps later. You should make sure you are doing the right thing and then go to the next stop, otherwise, you can save some files after you are going to next one.
Final thought:
I find that if you are doing the minimal style, just don’t find some objects which include many details. Like I choose this picture and after I was done with my outline, and I ask my friends about how is this. All my friends like confused about what is this thing….:C
