tink was sentimental, to say the least. once she grew attached to something, it was hard to give it up. unfortunately for her, bonding with a particular item a local thrift shop happened in an astonishing two seconds. she had been pining after a new record player, yet not one had really spoken to her. that was until she saw the beautiful hand painted turntable adjacent to her. the sides were adorned with dandelions. she had never seen anything like it.
as her hand reached out towards the object, her hand collided with another. a soft gasp escaped her lips, eyes no longer focusing on the item but on the face in front of her. tink wasn’t so easily spooked, her hand finally coming into contact with the record player. “i ── yeah,” she affirmed, “…were you ── i just, well…it’s something i’ve never seen before.” letting out a soft sigh, she knew it wouldn’t be so easy to let something like this go. a part of her wasn’t even focused on the stranger anymore. “guess we have similar tastes.”
The way this girl looked at the record player made Peri hesitate. She had a twinkle in her eye, the same kind Peri had towards it. She wasn’t sure if she could just....take it. She wanted it, sure. The record player would look perfect in her living room and it would make her parents smile. It could also make this girl’s day too. “I did...yeah. We really do.” She smiled even though it felt awkward. “It’s rare to find something so vintage, even here.” She would know since she was over here all the time.
She ran a hand through her hair. “I...If you want it.....It’s all yours. The flowers on the side look like they would compliment you really well. If they had any other kind of flowers, I would fight you harder. But it’s beautiful and you look like you would take good care of it, which is all I care about.”
