Nightcrawler's new costume for the upcoming uncanny x-men comic (2024)
Nightcrawler is part of the new Uncanny X-Men series :)
The X-Men are fractured in the aftermath of the end of Krakoa, scattered across the globe without a central base of operation
Outlaw heroes once again, the X-Men embark on a new mission! Making themselves at home in the Big Easy, the X-Men protect a world that hates and fears them! Join Rogue, Gambit, Nightcrawler, Jubilee, and Wolverine on explosive super hero adventures. Uncanny as ever, the X-Men are back to saving the day mutant-style!

Interview with the writer of the upcoming Nightcrawler series - Way of X
It’s quite a long, detailed and kind of deep interview? I’m used to writers giving simple answers, short interviews and mostly going ‘I can’t really answer this question’, but Spurrier gives a very long and detailed insight of not just how he views Nightcrawler as a character but philosophical topics too he wants to dive into, such as how Kurt sees the need of something, a big idea, that helps mutantkind mentally and emotionally, the need of giving them purpose -in addition to mutantkind having their own nation and peace now and giving their life back with the resurrection process. His view of Kurt is spot on; he seems to understand that what makes Kurt great is that he is very kind-hearted, emotional, selfless character who just wants to do the right thing, give hope and help others - and not just fight as superheroes usually do:
I’ve often thought Kurt’s at his best when he’s searching–inwardly as well as outwardly–rather than just being pointed at a baddie and told to start punching. I love to see him approaching a problem of the heart or the soul, but doing so with a rakish grin, pirate cosplay and bad jokes. He’s that guy. He delves deeper and into more profound waters than almost any other X-Character–but he does so in the most charming and clownish ways. … I don’t think The Quintessential Nightcrawler story has necessarily been written yet. I’m hoping to come close. … Kurt’s a thoughtful, sensitive, mischief-making soul who needs to believe there’s meaning and value in all things. And wants others to feel wanted and needed too.
The last part is a good brief summery of Kurt’s character. finally a writer who appreciate the value of being a kind and emotional and not just wanting fights, big actions, etc in the comics. Check it out if you want to know more about Kurt’s next comic!

Way of X is coming on April 21
As a member of the X-Men, Nightcrawler fights to protect the physical wellbeing of the mutants of Krakoa, but as a man of faith, he’s always taken an interest in their spiritual and emotional welfare too. In the light of that roll, Kurt Wagner has grown increasingly uneasy with certain aspects of the mutant nation Krakoa, such as its status as a global superpower, and its secret conquering of death itself via a combination of powers that can resurrect fallen mutants. Kurt’s concerns will put him in a position to uncover an invisible threat that has burrowed into the heart of the life that mutants have carved out for themselves on Krakoa.
The series is just as much a heady and weird exploration of faith and philosophy as it is a fun, sci-fi action series.
More interior art:
There is also a long interview with the writer (Simon Spurrier) discussing what the book will be about and his thoughts on Kurt’s role and characterisation, etc. Check it out!

I could literally draw kurt for the rest of my life and never draw him consistently but god is he fun to draw 💕💞💓
Have some more simp sketches I did, trying out some new brushes (❁´◡`❁)
@blueberrybamf had me draw Nightcrawler and I ended up going on a bit of a Nightcrawler bender in the process (my favorite X-Men character!!). Very happy to draw him again.
New series led by Nightcrawler announced! - Way of X
Nightcrawler Leads the Way to the X-Men’s Future in New Series
Writer Si Spurrier and artist Bob Quinn push the frontiers of Krakoa this April in ‘Way of X’!
Be there for this unmissable entry of REIGN OF X when WAY OF X hits stands this April!
WAY OF X #1 Written by SI SPURRIER Art by BOB QUINN Cover by GIUSEPPE CAMUNCOLI
Since 2019’s HOUSE OF X and POWERS OF X, writer Jonathan Hickman and a host of amazing creators have revolutionized the X-Men franchise. Now begins the REIGN OF X, the latest chapter in Hickman’s grand vision for mutantkind, and acclaimed writer Si Spurrier brings fans a groundbreaking new series: WAY OF X.
Known for his high-concept storytelling on titles like X-MEN LEGACY and X-FORCE, Spurrier returns to the X-Men with a series that will explore some of the most pressing questions that have been raised in this thought-provoking new era. Led by Nightcrawler, a brand-new team of mutants will assemble to confront the dark mysteries of the X-Men’s new way of life.
Mutantkind has built a new Eden…but there are serpents in this garden. Some mutants struggle to fit in. Some mutants turn to violence and death. And the children whisper of the Patchwork Man, singing in their hearts… Only one mutant senses the looming shadows. Snared by questions of death, law and love, only Nightcrawler can fight for the soul of Krakoa. Only he—and the curious crew he assembles (including fan-favorites Dr. Nemesis, Pixie, and Blink)—can help mutants defeat their inner-darkness and find a new way to live. This is the WAY OF X.
Here’s what Spurrier had to say about this bold new series:
“I should probably just tell a lie for the sake of a neat elevator pitch and say that WAY OF X is a story about the creation of a new mutant religion. But it’s not—not really. That’s kinda where it starts, for sure. Nightcrawler realises something’s wrong with the hearts and minds of mutantkind and sets out to fix it. But as he quickly discovers, this isn’t a job for priests and prayers… The question is, what do they have to become in order to fight it? Preachers? Cops? Executioners? Or something entirely new?
“WAY OF X is a smart, psychedelic tale about faith, science, culture, love and law. And Bamfing. Bamfing just for the joy of it.”
