11th English Written Task Work Summary
Here is the work that has been assigned and for the next few days
Create a new Google Document titled FirstName LastName - WT1 Worksheet.
#1. Brainstorm several ideas for your WT1. For each one include:
Topic
Learning Outcome
Link between Topic and Outcome
Text Type
Why that text type is the most appropriate
After each brainstorm you should have your partner's comments with their name on each. For each brainstorm, they needed to write: 2 SPECIFIC comments and 2 SPECIFIC questions.
#2. Read the sample WT1 rationale here. Notice that in the last paragraph the author mentions the mechanical elements, style, and characteristics of the text type she chose (an news article in The Toronto Star).
Choose your best WT1 brainstorm idea. For the text type you chose, decide what style, mechanics, qualities and characteristics you will use to showcase your knowledge of that text type in your WT1.
Then describe for me why that particular text type is the best one for the subject matter you are presenting.
#3. Write an outline of your Written Task. This must be done in outline form--for example:
I. Introduction - description... A. first topic..... B. second topic..... C. third topic...... II. Body - description... #4. (Tonight's assignment) Write the introduction to your Written Task. Since this is not a critical essay, this just means the beginning pieces of whatever text type you are using. Write at least 200 words.
#5. (Weekend assignment) Complete the rough draft of your Written Task. (800 - 1000 words)
