the thing is a lot of the time when i make posts about some evidence of bigotry in fandom a lot of the time i'm not even asking people to do anything but re-asses how they think about things. why do you think people typecast gay men playing gay characters as waifish twinks and get upset when they're proven wrong. why do you think people shove the ladies into boxes that fit "woman" "big sister" "little sister" "wine aunt" and so on and so forth. why do you think such a huge portion of the fandom has a problem with m/f shipping and considers it to be lesser even though m/f doesn't mean straight necessarily. why do you think people assume that headcanoning characters as trans mascs "take away" from women or are "boring, not accurate, not symbolic enough"? why do you think people assume that headcanoning characters as trans femmes is always pornographic in nature? why do people use the excuse that "it goes against their boundaries!" against anything they don't like at all, even when the person hasn't said anything, and how that's often used to isolate queer people from the fandom? why do you think people are always surprised to find out certain mcyters are bisexual when they're married to someone of another gender? why do you think people refuse to meaningfully interact with f/f ships. or women at all. Why do you think Everyone in the mcyt fandom is So Okay with misogyny, because Nobody can treat women as Normal People and either refuse to interact with them because they're "not interesting" or they put them on pedestals where they can do nothing wrong! why do you feel hesitant to torment blorbos who are women? why do you think people who do family dynamics often shove characters into little boxes that are often poor taste at best and deeply reek of bigotry at worst? why do you think it's so hard to find mcyters of color that are popular in the sphere and if they Do get popular often you will see them whitewashed? can you name 5 black mcyters? why do you think it's so hard to find people who use the pronouns of mcyters? you don't even have to change the way you interact with the mcyt fandom i'm just asking you to think about these things. once you start noticing the way minorities are treated in fandom you Never stop and it makes you reluctant to interact with things

So much shit the DSMP got away with that other SMPs would be way too organized to do. A major character literally died permanently in a huge dramatic moment, something no one on the server had done before, but then the CC decided that the only reason that character was really truly dead is bc it was his third "Canon Death." So we as the community had to piece together how many canon deaths each character probably had and what made a Canon Death "count" meanwhile the other CCs were totally unaware of this storytelling mechanic until their chats started asking about it. Insanity
