25 of April: 1945. Nazi and Fascist Troops surrender, and leave Italy, after years of war. The partisans, and the allies, won. Italy was free. Free of one of the worst concepts created by man. My grandpa fought as a partisan. I never met him, but i learned he was knighted by the President for his contribution to the cause of Freedom. And so, here in Italy, the 25 of april is a national holiday, and one of my favorites. I fear sometimes people forget that on that day we, as a country made a great victory. But i will never stop remembering that.
