You shrugged, the tension in the air had settled as everyone vacated the Speed Lab. Turning to walk away, your mind mulled over a few things. Before you could take a step towards the exit, Nash latched a gloved hand onto your upper arm. He maneuvered you towards him and handed you the MAD 2.2. Frowning, you placed it on your forehead. Whenever he handed the telepathic device to you, you knew he needed a second opinion with the racket that goes on in his head. He had trusted you with that aspect of his life. Also, the explorer would get inklings of feelings when you missed his other selves and wanted to talk to them.
āHm?ā You let out a questioning noise only for Nash to turn to an open space. Ā
āWhat?ā Nash let out brusquely, eyebrows raised, and nostrils flared as he gestured with his arms. āWhat?ā
You saw Harryās form emerge from the shadows. The beating in your heart skipped a beat or two. The mental personification of the Earth-2 genius had his hands pocketed in his typical dark wash jeans as he padded over to you and Nash. āWell, itās nice to see you, too. So, it turns out we cracked the fuel problem - for this ASF of yours.ā Harryās icy blue eyes landed on you. āLove,ā he breathed out.
A/N: I wrote this story for myself last year, but I thought I would share it since I got an request to do birthdays with HR and Nash. So, this is more about having a birthday on a holiday. I will not be doing a part 2 of this.

Every year on her birthday, she would come into work while everyone else was out celebrating with their friends and family. She would be alone in her lab working away on a project. When team flash was formed, she was always invited over to the Westās house for a big bash. She always decline saying she already had plans for that day. When HR arrived, he studied everyoneās personal files and he noticed that (Y/N)ās birthday was around the corner. So, he started to plan a surprise party bash in hopes to cheer her up.
āHey (Y/N/N), I need you in the cortex. When will you be here?ā Sounding nervous and excited over the phone.
āI just entered the building, HR. I will be down there in about 30 seconds.ā She said as she enters the elevator.
āOkay. Good, good because this thing-ā he lets out a huff, āI need help with it, it really needs some attention and... You are the perfect person for the job.ā
āIām going as fast as this elevator will go.ā She couldnāt help by laugh.
When the doors open, HR was rambling on about something that she will never understand. She made her way to the cortex which was empty. Hanging up her phone, she calls out to him, āHR? Hello?ā
āSURPRISE!ā Team flash jumps out from their hiding spots with balloons, banner, confetti.
āWhy didnāt you tell us that (your birthday) was your birthday?ā Cisco asked as HR place a birthday stash on (Y/N) while Barry place a crown on her head.
āSince moving here. I never thought of celebrating it. People always had plans, so, I instead came into work to work on my projects.ā
āWell, now, we are going to party extra hard.ā Barry said.
Walking into Star Labs and having no one around, the lab was nice and quiet; No distractions, no yelling. She couldnāt wait to work on her project without interruption. Making her way into her lab, there waiting on one of the table was a small vase with a dozen of red roses, a small teddy bear, a chocolate cupcake, and a card. Placing her bag down on a chair, she picks up the card and opens it up, āHappy birthday. Donāt work yourself too hard. Enjoy the peace and quiet.ā There was no name or anything on the card to help figure out who did this. She glance around the room as she place the card back down on the desk, wondering who would care enough to find her birthday and then buy her gifts. Taking off her jacket and placing it on a chair, she gets to work on her project.
Next year, she walks into her lab and there was a vase with flowers, a stuff tiger, a cupcake, a card, and now a balloon with the words āHappy Birthdayā on it. Picking up the card, it had a different message then last year, āHappy birthday. Donāt work yourself too hard. Good luck figuring me out.ā āDamnitā she quietly said.
This went on for another two years until now. When she look at the message in the card, it reads āHappy birthday. Dinner at 7?ā āShame I donāt know who you are.ā She mumbles to herself.
āWell, itās a good think Iām here now.ā
Jumping at the voice, she drops the card and spun around to see Harrison Wells leaning on the door frame. āW-what are you doing here?ā
āI would ask you the same thing. I noticed you coming here on this day the first year you started working here. I was wondering why, so, I looked into it and noticed it was your birthday.ā He said as he walked over to her. āI hope this is okay that I-ā he gesture to the gifts.
āItās a nice surprise.ā She looks behind her and then back to him, āThank you, Dr. Wellsā She blushes slightly.
āPlease, call me Harrison and youāre welcome.ā
(Y/N) pick up the card from the ground, āso, are you serious about this dinner?ā She waves the card.
He smiles, āYes, I am. Are you free?ā She nods her head in response. āAlright, I will leave you to your project, (Y/N).ā
Soon after that night, they started to date. Every year on her birthday, same gifts with the addition of a piece of jewelry would be waiting for her. At 7 on the dot, Harrison would walk into her lab and take her out to dinner. This was the norm up until Wellās true identity was revealed. She grew to hate her birthday.
After hours of dancing, gifts opening, eating cake, and enjoying each other company, Joe and HR stood to the one side of the room as they watched the team dance to the music. āYou know, this is a nice thing you did for (Y/N) considering all she went through the pass few years.ā
āI just wanted to see her smile. I like seeing her being all happy and stuff.ā HR takes a sip of his coffee as he watch (Y/N) tries to dance with Cisco.
āYou should tell her.ā Joe turns to face the author
āTell her what?ā He glance over to Joe.
āTell her that you like her.ā
āWhat? No, I donāt... She probably doesnāt like me that way.ā He looks over to her. She was now dancing with Iris and Caitlin.
āOh trust me, she does.ā
HR looks back over to Joe one more time before looking down to the ground thinking over what he said. When he looks back up, he notices the time on the clock, āOh! Oh, we must hurry.ā HR runs up to (Y/N), grabbing her arm and started to pull her away from her friends.
āHey, HR, whereās the fire?ā She stops which causes him to look at her.
āWhat? What fir- fireworks! We are going to miss the show!ā
āA firework show?ā (Y/N) questioned him.
He simply smiles down to her, āI wanted you to have a perfect birthday, so I thought giving you a firework show would be perfect.ā
āThatās so sweet.ā She reach up and kiss his one cheek.
āLetās get moving then.ā Barry said. Everyone made their way to the elevator. During the walk there, HRās hand slowly slid down her arm and into her hand. When they got into the elevator, (Y/N) squeeze HRās hand while she smiles up at him. When they got to the roof, there was chairs near the middle of the roof and blankets waiting for them by the doors.
āDamn, HR, you really did plan all of this out.ā Cisco commented.
āYeah, well, I wanted it to be as perfect as possible.ā HR grabs one of the blankets and drapes it on to (Y/N)ās shoulders. She wraps the blanket around her as Barry lightly pushes her towards the chairs. When they all took their seats, the show started. HR stood back, figuring out how to best approach her about the subject.
After a few minutes, (Y/N) glance behind her to see HR pacing around, drumming his sticks in the air. She gets up and made her way over to him, āHey HR.ā
ā(Y/N/N), hey.ā Startling him which caused him to drop his drum sticks. āWhy arenāt you enjoying the show?ā
āI wanted to tell you how much all this means to me.ā She walks up to him and gave him a hug. He was a bit taken back but ended up hugging her back.
āYou deserve everything, (Y/N). I want to give you everything.ā He softly said.
They slowly pull away from each other, looking into each other eyes. Leaning in, their lips met; finally getting what they both want. Pulling away, they could hear cheering from the team. They look over to them and saw them looking at them. (Y/N) buries her face into HRās chest as he pulls her close and kiss the top of her head.
After the fireworks show, everyone said their good byes. (Y/N) and HR were making their way to his room when she remembers something, āOh crap, my phone is in the cortex.ā āAlright, lead the way birthday girl.ā
When they walked into the cortex,āMan, thatās just... wrong.ā (Y/N) said to what HR just told her about something about his planet. āWell, thatās how it is over there.ā HR said. She shook her head as she made her way over to the table but froze when she saw what was on it. āOh no...ā She whisper but HR manage to hear it. āWhatās wrong?ā He walks over to her. āOh, looks like someone left you a nice present.ā HR walks up to the table and picks up the card. (Y/N) slowly walking up to the table, she picks up the vase filled with yellow roses and sitting next to her phone was a teddy bear, cupcake, and a small blue jewelry box. HR shows her what was inside the card. āHappy birthday, kitten. Donāt work to hard.ā āHis back.ā
Honestly? Fuck this culture of shaming people for learning about things late and liking them. who gives a shit if you discovered a song from years ago and youre in love with the band? Catch up with series you just discovered and talk about them to your friends, fall in love with movies others have known way before you even heard of them, read books youd heard of long ago but never got interested in until now and become a huge fan!! This idea that people areĀ āfake fansā for not knowing about or being interested in things before and loving them now is garbage and we need to get rid of it. Just let people enjoy things jfc!!
