I am OBSESSED with the way that they put out Bloodmoon Huntress right after Through the Moon.

These panels, in conversation with her leaving Callum at the end of ttm?? in conversation with her explaining herself in "Dear Callum"???? good lord. Like, Ruthari is The Example of Love to Rayla, and I have to imagine that her sweet bean 15-year-old self was like. Okay. Ethari loves Runaan. Ethari understands why Runaan puts himself in harm's way. Callum loves me. Callum will understand.

I mean. COME ON. And then, LITERALLY the next scene:

"I'm not saying he doesn't love Ethari. He clearly loves him, like, a lot. But I just don't get why you'd go put yourself in danger when you've someone that means so much to you at home!"

Modern times.

Callum, technically royalty from a small state who just wants to live the a normal college experience. He’s been through high school with obvious bodyguards watching his every move and hated it. It made it difficult to make real friends and he felt lonely and isolated the entire time.

He desperately wants to go abroad to study, to get away from the whole prince thing, but his parents are not exactly excited about him being unguarded. He’s had issues with an obsessive fan in the past and everyone understandably has concerns. Sarai proposes they find him a bodyguard to pose as a friend. A roommate and classmate.

Callum reluctantly agrees. It definitely sounds better than having a bunch of old guys hanging around him.

Enter Rayla.

She can easily pass for a regular college student, while keeping a close eye on him. And luckily, they seem to get along really well.

Perhaps too well, in the eyes of some.

Because, the presence of a pretty roommate who appears to stick to Callum like glue seems to dredge up issues he’d long thought forgotten…
