The Wish Effect - (WIP- 70k words so far) a modern au turned superhero au where grian writes in a book that can grant any wish he wants, but when reality as he knows it begins to change, grian has to find a way to reserve what he’s done

“How do I put this..” Cleo started, tapping a finger against her chin. “Let’s just say.. if you’re going to be attending something, Etho wants to go. And even if he doesn’t want to go, he can’t say no to you. That’s why Grian and Gem made you ask. Etho just likes you more.”

“So you’re saying.. Etho gives me special treatment because I’m his best friend?” Bdubs put together. Cleo pursed her lips. She almost looked like she wanted to correct Bdubs on something, but thought better of it and nodded.

“Yeah, pretty much.” They confirmed.

or, Bdubs is the exception to all of Etho’s carefully crafted rules and boundaries, and everyone else on the server seems to know why except for him. It doesn’t help that he’s in love with him, either.

“What? Do I have something on my face?” Bdubs asked, feeling suddenly a little insecure with the man’s attention on him. Which was weird- Bdubs had felt many things, but insecure wasn’t typically one of them. Bdubs knew he was attractive, objectively speaking. He didn’t usually have a problem with issues like that.

Apparently, all it took was one pretty stranger on a balcony to change that.

“Not at all.” The man denied with a shake of his head, white locks following the motion. “Just.. why a horse mask?” He sounded amused.

or, Bdubs is a prince and Etho is the mysterious yet charming stranger he meets at a masquerade party. But Etho has secrets, and Bdubs is just a little too in love to think of the consequences.

Drew this at like 1:00 a.m. I can't get this fic out of my head like genuinely I've read this twice in a week. This is vaguely based off of chapter 12 iykyk. Genuinely they make me sick.

Go check out the fic all is well (it's only blood) on ao3 by @shulkersneow I really enjoyed reading this and my friend really enjoyed me predicting every plot point (it's the english major in me) and all my reactions to everything that happens. But genuinely is one of the best fics I've ever read.

My friend had me read 'all is well(it's only blood)' by @shulkersneow and god I really enjoyed it, finishing it in a day or two. I got really inspired to draw Etho from this au, so I drew this while watching Cleo's and Doc's first episode of season 11!

Open the book.

Heart pounding, Grian paused. He turned to his side to see an alleyway next to him, dark and mysterious and looking straight out of a horror movie.

Grian. Open the book.

His body started shaking. Small tremors going through his arms, his legs. Not enough to make him fall over, but enough to be noticeably there. The back of his head began to hurt, the building up of a headache.

“Stop it.” Grian whispered, and like a light switch, everything stopped. His body stabilized, his head cleared, and Grian was going crazy.

Or, Grian finds a book that can grant all his desires, and makes a wish. But when reality starts to change and all his friends gain superpowers, Grian learns the hard way to be careful what you wish for.

The only flower Etho cared about, though, was the large red rose that bloomed right over the area where Bdubs’ heart was. The biggest and most special one that only ever appeared for Etho.

Yeah, there were a lot of things to love about Bdubs, but honestly?

Etho just loved Bdubs.

Or, Bdubs’ moss coat blooms different flowers based on his emotions, and Etho loves to mess with his boyfriend.

Bdubs is a florist. Etho is the customer he can’t stop thinking about, and flowers are used to say all the difficult things between them.

Etho looked back at Bdubs. Without thinking, the taller intertwined their fingers together, pulling Bdubs closer and bringing their joined hands up between their chests.

Bdubs let out an involuntary gasp at the action. Etho chuckled, knocking his forehead lightly against Bdubs’.

“Hi.” Bdubs said dumbly.

Or, Etho and Bdubs are like the sun and the moon, and are very much in love.
