Lauren, Joseph, and I left Knoxville during our long weekend and drove to Chattanooga. We went to the aquarium, a new coffee shop, and paid for a place to stay. It was so nice.

Andreas, Sally and I hiked up Bote Mountain yesterday trying to catch the tail end of the snow.

Sasha, Sally and I hiked to Charlie’s Bunion on the second weekend of November. Despite the unusually warm fall there was plenty of ice on the A.T. north from Newfound Gap, and likewise plenty of people coming and going. Sometimes the crowds bum me out - wanting to get out of the city and all - but then I remember that every person I see made an intention to see the Smokey Mountains that day, and I’m happy again.
