Yearly

I’ve been doing these for the past 2 years so I thought might as well do it again this year.  To quote Big Sean, “What a year. What a year.I decided now that every year is our year.” Personally, 2016 was a great year for me.  Started it in LA with friends and ended it in LA with friends.  I did a lot this year.  Traveled, went to concerts, went on a religious retreat, and so much more.  The highlight of my year was definitely the 35 days I spent traveling all around Europe from Greece to Spain and everywhere in between.  That trip sure did push me out of my comfort zone.  It was actually pretty crazy being able to see everything and experience so much.  My favorite places were definitely Berlin, Germany and Florence, Italy.  Those had the chillest vibes ever.  Singing in front of a couple of hundred people I did not know at a bar was pretty nerve wrecking yet exciting. 

I also hit my one year at my job as well as since I moved out.  I’ve learned a lot on my job and still have so much to learn.  Over the past year, I was able to bond with some of my co-workers and now consider them really good friends.  Aside from that, learning every day on the job.  It is still mind blowing to me how blessed I am to have this job and all the blessings God has given me. I’ve met so many people from this year alone that it enabled me to travel more on my own.  I was able to travel up to SF on my own and just meet up with friends that I have made.  It’s crazy to think the connections you make with people and what can happen over the course of a year.

those are in caps cause that’s crazyyyyyyy.  Also Apparently Europeans value seats more so it costs more to have a seat than it is to be on the floor at a concert in Europe.

I also went on a retreat in the bay area.  It was a pretty great encounter and made friendships with some dope people and got a lot closer to God.  

Random tidbits: went on a scavenger hunt at Disneyland, went geocaching,went on some escape rooms, played hella board games lol.

Life was good to me in 2016 and I have no regrets.  I love the people I surround myself with and I thank God everyday for them and all the blessing He’s given me. 2017 is here and it’s time to face it head on.  It’s my zodiac sign year so I gotta wear red on Chinese New Year’s haha.  What a year. How do you Tumblr?

This was definitely a year of ends and beginnings.  First and foremost, I am incredibly blessed for the life God has given me and the people he has given me to share this life with.  My family, friends, and relatives have been the greatest support system I have ever had.  

From my 2015 post:

“This year will be a year of achievements, accomplishments (both the same but for extra emphasis), knowledge, and growth.  Though I hate to say things before they happen, everything is looking pretty good and set for me to graduate in June.  I cannot be more excited to be done with undergraduate and actually have a degree.  I am excited to travel in no matter what form to a place I have never been.  Whether it would be in this state, country, or not, I want to be able to go to different places and explore different cultures. “

It certainly was a great year.  I graduated from college and was able to travel to some places like San Diego and San Francisco.  Still in the same state lol.  But, the big trip is this coming summer where I go on a 35 day trip across Europe with 2 of the greatest friends ever and I cannot be more excited.  I got to experience so many different concerts and what not.  I saw my bae Ariana Grande twice, saw Kehlani, Who is Fancy, Tori Kelly twice, Fifth Harmony (against my will I promise @classiccrest​), Trey Songz, Big Sean, Walk the Moon, Tove Lo, and so much more.  This was all thanks to my incredible friends.  This was the year of concerts haha.  

I also got to go to Comic Con for the first time and let me tell you that this was one of the best experiences of my life.  As a huge nerd and superhero fan, it was a fanboy’s dream.  Getting into Hall H and seeing all the superhero trailers and panels was a sight that can only be experienced there.  IT WAS AMAZING.  If you’re a fan, I 100% RECOMMEND GOING.  Not only is it a place for superheroes but anything you can imagine.  They have a panel for so many different things that its sooooo cool.  I also got to go to D23 which is Disney’s Expo Convention and that was amazing as well.  I got to buy more things like a statue of myself in an Iron Man costume HAHAHAHHA.  Nerd to the max.  I was also able to cheer on my friend dancing with Powerline (from the goofy movie) singing I 2 I.  How many people get to say that they’ve seen Powerline live!?

Another part of my 2015 post:

“This year is a year of progress.  It is a year of learning more about my profession and myself.  It is a year of acquisition and realization... hopefully I will be a successful engineer or something lol.”

Progress was definitely made. Aside from graduating, I was able to land a job as a software engineer at a great company and while still far from successful, I can definitely see myself growing and reaching there one day.  In this past year, I have moved out on my own and learned what its like to be an actual adult lol.  I am so excited for the year that is yet to come and I know that with God, my family, and friends by my side, I can achieve anything.

As I mentioned, it was also a year of ends.  I graduated from college, I am no longer dancing with Hall of Fame ):, and I am no longer living with my family.  However, with those ends came new beginnings.  This was a year of amazingness and awesomeness and 2016 is already looking to be a great year.  I hope everyone can recognize the positives and blessings in their lives.  As easy as it is to focus on the one thing that made your day bad, you can easily shift that focus to the blessings the outweigh them.  You are all destined for greatness and I hope you see that.  This whole life and “The universe is too grand and harmonious to believe it's all an accident.” I love that quote by Mitch Albom from Tuesdays with Morrie

And with that, I leave Tumblr.  As I don’t have the heart (just yet) to delete it, I will be indefinitely changing the password to some random group of numbers that I will not be able to know of unless I press “forgot password” lol.

2015

Never thought this year would come up so quickly.  

Life has been pretty good to me the past 21 years and I cannot imagine where I would be right now at this very moment.

I am so blessed for my family and friends that have been with me to this day no matter how long.  

I am also very blessed to have been able to go to school and learn while also doing what I love, dance.  Dance has brought me to so many places.  From City Walk, to stages, to a Clipper game performance, dance has given me countless once-in-a-lifetime experiences and people that I can consider family now.  Hall of Fame has been the highlight as an amazing end and start for my weeks.

I have just realized my overall goal in life and what pushes me to be the person I want to be.  This goal is to help people.  Help people realize the potential they have to be and do amazing [things].  The reason I am a mentor and staff member is to help high school students be prepared for college and realize what they are able to accomplish at their age.  I want to help people through technology.  I want to inspire through technology.  This sounds like lofty and just super intangible goals but it is what I want to do and what I exactly plan to do.  Big Hero 6, besides being a great movie, very much promoted learning and going to college and it inspired me.  It inspired me to create amazing things that would inspire future engineers and other people in general.

This is pretty much word vomit right now, but I am just excited for this year.  This year is a year of progress.  It is a year of learning more about my profession and myself.  It is a year of acquisition and realization.
