I have a very hard time with the whole “another woman’s beauty doesn’t erase yours” thing. I know it’s mostly true, but certain lights just shine brighter. Naturally and obviously. It’s like holding a flashlight next to a bonfire. Everyone is just drawn to the shiniest thing, that’s why I often don’t see the point in turning the flashlight on at all.
