Qi came back home to Vega 5 for a little family visit.

His parents wanted to take him out to the sea again on their little rackety fishboat for those good 'ole days, and what do you know, they managed to fish out a mermaid! This mermaid's a curious one because he doesn't seem to want to leave them just yet, so his parents wanted to bring the merman around until they had to go back to shore again. The mermaid's taken a liking to Qi in particular, so of course they tease Qi about it (much to Qi's disinterest). The mermaid would hop back in the water to help them haul fish to the point that the boat might topple over from the amount. When Qi complains that the boat could use a motor engine, the mermaid makes it out of his way to push the boat and swim at Mach speed. It looks like they found themselves a friendly little fish person.
