Flowers float in the Mediterranean Sea in honor of migrants lost while making the perilous journey to Europe. Last night more than 80 Syrians and Palestinians refugees have drowned in the Mediterranean close to the Libyan shores trying to reach Europe.

Caught this at the Whitney and I love it so absolutely much- you can just about see the Financial district, the Hudson river, a pea-sized Miss Liberty and the Meatpacking district. I’m going back to SC in a couple of days and it makes me so sad to leave this pretty city behind 💘

Lying there with my eyes locked to yours. My fingers tracing the lines of your face and finding its way into the spaces between your fingers. In the dimly lit room, we listened to Foals and shared laughter and kisses. I wish I could pause the future...so all that’s left isn’t just a trace of a memory.

It was my last day at Columbia U today and I’m really sad because I will miss it so much. I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to learn from such an inspiring group of aspiring human rights and arts activists. I will miss them and their overflowing passion for all kinds of activism. I will also miss my very liberal and amazing professor... her hatred towards Ronald Reagan and love for wine. 

I will miss it all

As I was on my way to class today, I met someone on the 1 train. We started talking about politics and the GOP debate that would be happening tonight. Then, he asked me what I thought about Donald Trump running for president. It was hilarious because we both just sat there, sighed and laughed about it.

I really love these little interactions I get to have with strangers. Every meeting is so fleeting in the city that it always catches me by surprise when I see the same person twice. I love it.

Israeli security forces have used unnecessary force to arrest or detain Palestinian children as young as 11. Security forces have choked children, thrown stun grenades at them, beaten them in custody, threatened and interrogated them without the presence of parents or lawyers, and failed to let their parents know their whereabouts.

Caitlyn Jenner just showed the world how to use privilege for good 

During her ESPYs speech, Jenner went out of her way not only to talk about the struggling, bullied transgender youth every where but the challenges facing transgender women of color specifically. She mentioned advocates like Laverne Cox and Janet Mock, but also those whose lives we’ve lost like Mercedes Williamson.
