#This episode gutted me #the way he says wait 😭#when the camera switched to Lisbon watching him look around an empty room😭#he just wanted a few more minutes with his baby #I wish the showrunners had incorporated the hallucinogenic tea for a few more episodes instead of immediately switching to something else #I know it would have been sad but it was weird that the next episode was normal and seemed to have no lasting effects #it’s not even mentioned again after this #I also wish the show would have dwelled a little more into what Jane’s family life was like before red john #the mentalist #patrick jane #charlotte jane

my favorite detail in next to normal west end is after dan cleans up most of the blood and puts the bloodied towels in the plastic bag, he places it in front of gabe. he is laying diana's blood at his feet; he is putting the blame on gabe. it's his fault diana almost died. it's his fault dan almost lost her.

#there are so many little moments in this musical that just blow my mind every time I see it #the scene right before this when Gabe turns Diana’s wrist up #and then the blood is on both Gabe and Dans hands to show how yes Gabe caused the attempt but Dans denial and refusal to acknowledge #the loss of Gabe also played a role in Diana’s delusions #Dan pushing his grief down in an attempt to make it better for his wife only proceeds to harm her more #because she can’t grieve something that she in her own mind she never really lost #with that being said posting is optional bestie ow #next to normal

Actually so insane about the way they never say Gabe's name until the end of the show because like... how long has this been going on. How long did Diana just keep her name in her heart but never said it out loud because it would shatter the illusion. What if Dan just thought that by erasing his name he could pretend nothing ever happened, and yet he could never escape it because it was all his wife would talk about. Was Natalie ever even told her brother's name

And like I'm pretty sure she was told his name at some point but thinking she wasn't just makes Superboy and the invisible girl so much worse because all along she has been forced to live with this loss except. He was never real to her. He was a ghost nobody would even tell her about and all she knew was that she would never be him

And all along Gabe is right here begging for someone to just name him so it can all be over. Except they can't.
