chris, who was always bigger than the other kids growing up, who got in trouble for playing too rough even though he didn’t mean to. rose, full of powers she doesn’t understand, who has to learn and master her own abilities through trial and error while adults watch her with narrow eyes and low voices.

except for chris. chris, who knew her dad, not for very long but long enough that she can tell it still hurts him to talk about. but he does it for her, shares the pieces he remembers, and even on the days they fight he never narrows his eyes at her the way the others do. he looks her in the eye instead, reminds her of the promises he made to her dad, and that he plans on keeping them even if it pisses her off.

chris and rose, both a little larger than life, more sensitive than anyone expects, seeing flashes of themselves in each other more and more as time goes on and finding comfort in it.

grace doesn’t really know much about markiplier but he knows enough because his students often talk about him, they’ve probably even showed him a few clips and/or pictures at some point.

fast forward to grace meeting simon, and he immediately feels like simon looks familiar but he just CANNOT put his finger on it. after maybe a week or two of this mildly bothering him, realization dawns on him while browsing on the (archived) internet and he says out loud some version of OH MY GOD ITS MARKIPLIER.

simon and rocky are both confused as fuck and now grace has to dig up any images/pictures of markiplier he can find and explain who the hell this guy is to not one but two people from entirely different worlds. this also includes holding the computer up next to simon’s face and going SEE THEY LOOK EXACTLY THE SAME!!
