Dynasty: Secret Heir Review
Ā (I rate it 5/5 stars)
Ā Where do I even start? Firstly this book was pure amazement! I was totally shocked of how brilliantly written this book was. Once I started reading I could hardly ever put the book down. There was never a moment in this book that ever really bored me, and honestly I get bored easily. Iām literally speechless. The plot was so breathtakingly amazing. To be completely honest there were even moments where I could hardly stay still from excitement, it was super hard to read without smiling and squealing like an idiot. But I mean, how could you? Also there were moments where I had to physically stop and close the book because the tension became almost unbearable. I had such a strong attachment to the book that it had the ability to mentally mess up my emotions and create heartbreak, one reason why I rated it so high.
I absolutely loved the female main character Jazmine, I could almost always relate to her in some way, not to mention that she is such a powerful and strong female badass character. She would never allow herself to get pushed around by others easily and would not give a damn. She would give those who did push her limits some payback, and let me say I love her for it. Donāt get me started on the other characters; I loved all their different personalities as well, even if there were some very clichĆ© high school drama characters as well. I loved their friendships, I loved the romance, the drama, the TENSION!
To end this without spoiling anything if youād like reading love-hate romances, stories with strong minded characters, fantasy worlds, supernatural powers, high school drama and anything with royals then youāll absolutely love this book. Before I forget I just want to put out that there might be some r ā rated scenes that might make younger readers feel slightly uncomfortable. So please, for those who are younger readers please read at your own risk.
This is a completely honest review, and Iām completely not being biased in anyway. But you really need to read this book. Itās a must read! I recommend you add this to your TBR list almost immediately! If I were to ever see a hard copy of this book Iād get it and reread it in a heartbeat.
I have to add a special thanks to the amazing MJ. Prince [Ā @mjprinceauthor ] for the advanced readers copy, I donāt know how you managed to create such a phenomenal novel, but well done. You executed it brilliantly. I literally canāt wait for the sequel! I need to know what happens next, immediately! OMG THE CLIFFHANGER! Also, thereās one more thing⦠ What the hell is going on with Raph?!

Welcome to Eden...
Secret Heir (Dynasty, #1)
By M.J Prince.
I would like to thank M.J Prince for my copy of the ARC. Ā Due to this kind gesture, I have decided to leave my own review.
Holly shit balls! Ā WHAT JUST HAPPENED?!?
I need more, like right this second moreā¦
Jazmineās mum died when she was only young leaving her on her own as she has no clue to who her father is. Ā Trying to dodge her way through her 10th foster home sheās nearly out of the system for good. Ā That is until her life takes a huge change.
When she spots a strange gentleman at her place of work, he looks mysterious, otherworldly, and heās here to turn her life upside down.
Welcome to Eden a place where a god-like race rule. with palaces, royals, powers, and a boarding school that makes North Shore High School sound like a dream, will Jasmine fit in with our bitchy royals or will her life be blown apart?
I canāt believe how much I enjoyed this book! Ā When I first started reading it I thought we jumped to Eden far too quickly and Jasmine was just happy to go along with it but as the story progressed it completely engrossed me and I couldnāt put the book down, literally! I read it in one sitting.
I really like Jazmine, she totally kicks ass and she stays true to herself. Ā I love her potty mouth and how she just does not give up. Ā She was a strong leading lady who you canāt help go through all the motions with because she is so likeable. Ā I usually find it hard to connect with leading females because they start to annoy me but not Jaz Iām really loving her. Ā The only thing that got to me was how trusting she was of everyone, WTF girlfriend LIKE NO!!!
The book had great characters and you learn to have a little spot in your heart for all of them. Ā Plus can we take a moment to appreciate our lovely males, book boyfriends everywhere *eye flutters*. Our males were very interesting, to say the least! Ā They all sounded like a bunch of adonisās and I could not get enough! Between Baron, Lance, Devon and Raph, whats not to love?
Itās fair to say me and Raph have a love-hate relationship. One minute I want to strangle him the next I want to get me some of that! Ā Heās so cocky and a complete misogynist at times, but goddamnit Iām a woman who is always attracted to the cockiness URGH god help me.
We have plenty of strong females which I totally love, Dani & Keller, being my favourite but obviously Ā Layla is something else! Ā Itās like someone took Catherine Morganstine & Regina George and created some super bitch who does not hold back.
I believe that we could have heard about Eden a bit more, learnt about it and other places within it but the story does keep you gripped. Ā Is it a cliche? Ā Yes but my god its good! Ā Who does not love cliche? I LIVE FOR THEM!
Also, I feel I got a little confused with each family names and their heirs and their powers. Ā I think it would be good to make a bit at the start of the book, kinda like a family tree.
If you are looking for a Cruel Intentions cliffhanger which will leave you in utter despair, with a Mean Girls attitude and some Dynasty type money, this is your jam. Ā Go for it itās not disappointing!
āLying again, are we? There isnāt one girl on campus that wouldnāt drop their panties for me. Ā All I need to do is look their way. Ā Youāre no exception.ā
Thank you :D
Cover Reveal: Ā Secret Heir by MJ Princeā
Release: Feb. 27th.
Synopsis
Since the beginning of time, tales have been told about Eden. But all the stories are wrong.
Running parallel alongside Earth, but never touching, there exists not just a garden, but an entire world of vivid colours and breathtaking beauty where the Seraph reside.
Jazmine has lived in ten different foster homes, in ten different towns and all her life she has felt like she doesnāt belong ā not in the trailer park which happens to be foster home number ten, not anywhere on Earth. After a universe shattering revelation, she discovers why. Far from being the nothing and no one, with no past and no future, that Jazmine had always believed herself to be, she discovers that she is in fact an heir to one of the seven remaining Seraph Dynasties.
She is Jazmine Evenstar, the last heir to the sovereign Evenstar Dynasty.
Thrust into the world of wealth and privilege in which the impossibly beautiful and equally cruel Dynasty heirs reside, Jazmine is forced to manoeuvre the tangled web that holds the Dynasties together. Against the backdrop of breathtaking star filled nights, sweeping coastlines, grand marble halls and decadent palaces, Jazmine tries to find her place in this beautiful new world whilst fighting not to lose herself in the process.
But the fairy tale quickly unravels.
Half human and the illegitimate daughter of the late suicide King of Eden, the other Dynasty heirs make it clear that Jazmine does not belong in their world.
Raphael St. Tristan, heir to the rival sovereign St. Tristan Dynasty and next in line to the throne of Eden, the guy with the face of an angel but who is as wicked as the devil himself, promises to break her.
Jazmine quickly learns that the beauty of Eden is nothing but a deception as she uncovers the secrets festering at the heart of it. But can she disentangle herself from the web of deception and intrigue that the Dynasty heirs have spun? Can she stop herself from falling into Raphael St. Tristanās trap before he can fulfil his promise to shatter her completely? Or are those stories about Eden true after all and will she be foolish enough to taste the forbidden fruit that is Eden itself?
SECRET HEIR is the first book in the all new DYNASTY trilogy. A loose adaption of Romeo and Juliet but with a fantastical twist, this saga of feuding Dynasties, forbidden love, betrayal, royal scandals and power struggles for the crown promises to ensnare, captivate and shatter then leave readers clawing for more.

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review and this doesnāt in any way influence my opinion on it.
Secret Heir is the first book in the Dynasty trilogy by MJ Prince and let me tell you I was pleasantly surprised by this book. It was so good and I hope I my review does the book just because if you like a steamy new adult supernatural read then this book will be right up your ally. This Romeo and Juliet meets Gossip Girl with elemental magic and a shocking twist.
Jazmine is a seventeen year old in the foster care, she has been there since the day her mother died. She has moved from foster home to foster home never really feeling like she fit in anywhere. Then out of nowhere a guy shows up claiming unbelievable things and whisks her way to her new home on Eden. Eden is parallel to Earth but looks a lot like paradise. Underneath all the beauty lie darkness and Jazmine needs to keep her wits about her if she is to survive.
I cannot tell you how involved I got in this book, I was so emotionally connected that at times I couldnāt even continue because I got the part in books where everything looks like it was gonna go real bad for a character you cared about. Jazmine is a character that is so close to my heart because she actual has good sense for the most part (except when she is totally ignoring it) and doesnāt take shit from anyone. She stands up for herself and gets revenge when need. Jazmine doesnāt let the bullies get to her and she tries her best not to let outside influences get to her. She is a strong character who, in this readers will see, take down some of the many walls she had built up around herself.
Raphael St. Tristan is the āit manā on campus, all girls want him and most guys want to be him. Raph is apart of one of the seven sovereign dynasty on the island and of the seven only the St. Tristans and Evenstar dynasties actually wear the crown and Raph was it, the heir to the crown. I am not gonna I though Raph was a butt in the beginning and dang it if he didnāt wear me down. With is personality and action and he is a weird little tidbit, even though he is described as having blond hair I kept picturing him with dark hair, I couldnāt shake that image. Donāt you hate that as a reader you picture one thing, feeling one thing only later realize the author was imaging something totally different.
This part of Eden (with the dynasty) is all about the lifestyle of the rich and royal. I canāt believe the decadent description of the new life Jazmine was living and it very much reminded me of Gossip Girl but on a grander scale. However Jazmine never got caught up in the fast paced life and I loved that. I also grew to love some of the other characters and some of them surprised me so much especially a certain male dog who turns out to be a puppy.
I was so involved with the plot because things kept changing on me. Just when I think something was going to happen something else happened and I was trying to figure things out but could only piece together certain things. As for the writing, it was okay but sometimes the reactions was repetitive but I didnāt mind it. My only problem is that I wish Jazmine could have interacted with Dani a little more, to show a stronger connection and I wish that Magnus was written in a little more because it seems like it would have been more natural for Jazmine to spend more time with him than she did. The characters were the best because I got such a clear picture as to how everyone was supposed to be represented and I like the interactions that came about.
Secret Heir is a Romeo and Juliet story that has been turned on its head and totally remade. This book had wild parties, hardcore pranks, steamy hot romance that would make you blush, snippy comments, cruel plots, elemental magic, schemes, danger and betrayal that took my breath away. With the shocking cliffhanger that I just been through there is no way I can wait for the second book in the series I need it now because my emotions are screaming at me, I am feeling all the feels right now. Someone make it stop.
Overall 4 stars

Welcome to Eden ššš
Secret Heir (Dynasty #1) by MJ Prince
I received an ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review.
Summary: Secret Heir focuses on Jazmine, a girl who grew up bouncing from foster home to foster home when her world turns upside down. She gets transported to Eden and learns that she is the Evenstar Dynasty heir - complete with superpowers. After a brief introductory ceremony with the other Seraph dynasty families (which establishes the Romeo/Juliet theme), Jazmine finds that everything in Eden isnāt as it seems.
Secret Heirās incredible cover art, summary, and first few chapters are what really drew me in. Jazmineās backstory on Earth was filled with the mystery and tenacity which usually hints at a good character development later on. And whatās more intriguing than being an orphan and then learning you have family and responsibility in an entirely different realm?
I loved the concept and description of Eden as well as the powers that each dynasty controlled. The fact that each Seraph dynasty had power over a specific element that made Eden and Earth function was a fun magical twist. And there were several characters whose development really hooked me (and Iām curious to see where theyāll go next!).
Unfortunately, the middle of the book dragged. The high school drama was predictable, and certain exciting pieces (e.g., Jazmineās first duel) arenāt given as much depth as I wanted. Some of those moments felt abruptly chopped off.
That being said, the twist at the end of the book was completely unexpected. Iām hoping that the new developments will provide an exciting path for the plot and characters in the next book!
Thank you so much for the fun read, @mjprinceauthor!!

Secret Heir (Dynasty #1) by M.J Prince Book Review
ARC kindly provided by the author in exchange for an honest review. When I first started reading this book I did not expect myself to enjoy it as much as I did. It didnāt start off on the right foot with me but as I let myself be taken into the world of Eden, the world that the author M.J Prince created, I soon fell in love with the characters, setting and the whole luxury and richness that the world was created with. I guess the real reason I loved this book was because it was like every single book was merged into one single fabulous novel. The luxury and beauty of the story reminded me of the A Court Of Thorns And Roses series by Sarah J Maas and the enemies to lovers romance reminded me of that of Pride And Prejudice . It was everything and I loved it so much. The book is about a girl called Jazmine who feels as if she doesnāt belong. Not in her foster home or anywhere on Earth for that matter. Then after a shocking revelation, Jazmine discovers that she is the heir to the Evenstar dynasty, one of the seven dynastyās of Eden. She needs to learn her place in her new world but itās not easy when everyone is trying to make her life miserable. Especially the handsome Raphael St. Tristan, heir to the throne and the reigning sovereign St. Tristan dynasty who promises to break her and shatter her. When the book started as I said, I was not sure if I would enjoy it. The first few pages were slow paced during the period of time Jazmine was on Earth as a waitress. But as soon as the magical world of Eden was revealed I suddenly became more interested and immersed. One of the best parts of this book was how the author M.J Prince added new dimensions to each characters. I loved Jazmine. I love how she was so tough and didnāt let haters get to her. She had a hard life living in ten foster homes throughout her life and she had no family to care for her until she finds her long lost grandfather. The author, M.J Prince clearly shown that even though she is tough, she makes mistakes. Even the other characters seemed to have more than meets the eye making this a book to look out for. I canāt wait for the sequel. My hands are itching to read it as soon as itās released because I loved it that much. In the next book you can probably expect a shocking cliff-hanger (M.J Prince is extremely good at this as well) but I think that she could develop the world even more in the second book than she did in the first book. This series definitely has potential and I recommend this to any romance and fantasy lover out there. ACTUAL RATING: 4.46 STARSĀ
Another amazing review for Secret Heir! <3 :D
