People are living in a new age of technology where it is embedded in our every day routine. We check the news online, text family and friends, post on social media, use the GPS to go to our destination, play video games and so much more. Unfortunately, there's always a negative side to things and this is where internet trolls come in. These trolls are not the mythical creatures in tales; instead these are average people who purposely threaten and/or harrass others online for mainly entertainment. These actions are seen in a range of bullying in the comment section to drastic threats such as doxxing-releasing personal information of someone as a threat. Other forms of trolls are categorized as: sea-lioning- arguining in bad faith and white knighting - a derogatory term that insults a man who defends a woman in a sexist attack. As technology is continuing to enhance, it's best to be aware and identify the different types of online trolls to protect one another.
