“These things happen to everyone, you aren’t alone.” Hyeri said softly, hesitantly reaching out to pat the other woman’s back. “If it makes you feel any better, I nearly fell asleep once… not because the interviewer was boring but because I hadn’t slept in three days.” She laughs. “It happens. Don’t worry.”
She chuckled lightly at the touch on her back. Lifting her head she giggled lightly hearing the others story, “I can say I have never fallen asleep during an interview. I save that for the green rooms.”
“I got in so much trouble, oh my god.” She laughs, shaking her head as she looks at the woman beside her. “Brandi ignored me for two days and Eli nearly killed me. So believe me, it’s okay. It happens to the best of us.”
Hyeri didn’t blame him for never noticing her, he was busy. And she understood that. She was busy too. It was normal for them to barely have any time to hang out with each other, and as much as she hated to admit that, it was true. Hyeri hardly ever got to see anyone aside from her vocal and dance coaches, as well as her physiotherapist. On the odd occasion, Hyeri would be allowed to go and spend time with her members but more often than not she was in the MK building preparing for their upcoming comeback.
“It wasn’t your fault, I wasn’t exactly looking where I was going either.” She laughs softly, running a hand through her long hair as she raises her tired gaze to look at him. “I’m okay…tired, but okay.” She laughs softly before she looks at him again. “It’s been a while, huh?”
Teddy had busied himself with extra practices, both vocal and dancing. He felt like he had a thing to prove to the media as it had seemed that him earning a place through the survival show to become the leader and main vocalist of the group hadn’t been enough. He didn’t converse with anyone really throughout the time period, mostly sticking to his members or, when he could, Zhen.Â
“But it was more my fault,” He insisted, flashing her another smile. There were few people in the company he was inherently nice to - Hyeri being one of them. “If you’re tired, you should rest more noona!” He said in a concerned manner. He’d only been an idol for a year but he had quickly learnt that there was more of an emphasis on getting rest than being a trainee. “Only a short while noona,” He said, smiling brightly, “But better late than never, right?”
“I disagree. We should share the blame if anything.” She says with a shake of her head, a smile of her own playing on her lips as she looked at him. They’d both been distracted, and she felt it wasn’t right for him to place the blame mostly on himself. “I’m trying...but rest doesn’t come easy for an insomniac and on top of all these schedules...” she sighed, trailing off as she shook her head.
“Indeed.” she laughs in agreement. “How’ve you been? You’re looking after yourself?” Hyeri knew that she sounded like a worried mother but honestly, she couldn’t help it. Especially when it came to someone she cares about. “You’ve been eating and resting well, right?”
Kim Ah Young
“Ah Young she’s…ah…she had her moments but now that she’s nearly fourteen, she’s matured a lot. But she’s giving my brother a lot of issues, they both call me a lot to complain. My brother to complain about having to raise a teenager girl by himself and Ah Young to complain about me not being there and asking for help.” She laughs softly, shaking her head a bit when Daegil released her hair, one hand coming up to comb through the long strands before she placed both her hands back on the toddler’s mid section as she held him. “Believe me, that’s definitely not how you braid hair, not how Ah Young does. Should I teach you how to braid hair?” She grinned before she laughed again and nodded. “He definitely has. He’s adorable.”
“My sisters call me to complain about each other all the time…which is weird because they don’t even live together anymore,” Insoo mused with a little laugh. “Really, Subin should be complaining to people about me; I’m the one she has to live with…” Both girls used to complain about Kyunsoo constantly, but that wasn’t really happening anymore. Kyunsoo was gone. Although, that didn’t keep his grandmother from complaining. What was that saying about not speaking ill of the dead? He grinned. “Do you want to teach me? I dunno–will I have to braid hair a lot in the future? Is that useful skill for me to have?” Insoo smiled, a little bit of sadness flickering over his face for a split second before he hid it. “Isn’t he? Clearly he and I are related…”
“You must be a good housemate if she’s not complaining about you.”Hyeri mused, her tone soft as she looked up at him. She hadn’t missed the momentary sadness that had flickered over his face but she decided not to bring it up, it wasn’t her business and besides, she was supposed to be working on not being so nosy...even if she wanted to. She couldn’t help everyone, after all. “Well, girls really like it when you braid their hair. I braid my members hair all the time whenever their stressed. And I don’t know, you can do it for your sisters...anyone with long hair, really...” she nods with a smile, rethinking over all the times she had braised both her sister’s and her members hair. “Clearly. He gets it all from you.” She says with a grin.
“I can’t believe I completely blanked out during that interview. I’m such an idiot.” Mina said to no one in particular. She shook her head before letting out a small whine and letting her head fall to the table top.
“These things happen to everyone, you aren’t alone.” Hyeri said softly, hesitantly reaching out to pat the other woman’s back. “If it makes you feel any better, I nearly fell asleep once... not because the interviewer was boring but because I hadn’t slept in three days.” She laughs. “It happens. Don’t worry.”

“Definitely. He reminds me of my little sister in a way.” she grinned, taking the small boy in her experienced hands, balancing him on her knee as she looked down at him. Almost instantly, the child would go to tug at her long hair and she laughed, pulling a face as the toddler pulled the brunette strands in multiple directions. “Scratch that. He reminds me a lot of my sister. Ah Young used to love pulling my hair too. She still does, she just tries to use braiding it as an excuse.” She laughed, grinning at Insoo before looking down at Daegil. “But it’s okay, I’ll forgive you.” the twenty two year old sang softly as she held him.
“Is your little sister a brat?” he asked jokingly with a laugh, poking his nephew in the side gently with a grin. He sighed, rolling his eyes. “Dae, stop that–it hurts when you pull people’s hair,” he chastised, reaching out to try to pull the toddler’s little hands away from her hair. “I’ve never braided hair before–who knows? Maybe that’s just how braiding works?” Stretching his arms a little and pushing his hair out of his face, Insoo dropped himself into a chair now that he was free from chasing Daegil around, resting a bit while Hyeri watched him. “Look at you, Dae, I think you’ve got her wrapped around your finger already. You little charmer, you.”

“Mhm. I mean, it looks nothing like the Harbour…the Harbour is a lot prettier, in my opinion. More blue and just…I don’t know. Home. Thinking of the Harbour reminds me of home so…” She laughed, trailing off awkwardly as she brought her hand up to run through her long hair. It was a known fact that Hyeri sometimes had a hard time putting her thoughts into words. Maybe it was because of her shyness (which would make no sense because she and Yuhye were rather close) or maybe it was because of the fact that her dyslexia sometimes made it hard for her to speak. “Nah…he had a good reason to do what he did and besides, we were only twelve. The dude was nineteen. He was kind of infamous around Blacktown and Sydney as a whole so…” once again trailing off, the teenager hummed in thought before she grinned and looked back over at the older woman. “I’d tell you the long story…but we’d be here all day. So, long story short, my family were sort of…running low on money.” Understatement. They had had literally no money. Her father had wasted it all on alcohol once again. It had been incredibly hard getting by, she still remembered it like it had happened yesterday. “So, my brother and I had decided to steal from a store to get food for ourselves and our younger sister. We didn’t succeed, the store workers called the police on us. We ran for a good two hours.” She laughed playfully, trying to make light of her past.
“Obviously it’s prettier, I mean it’s Australia, you’re a big ass island literally surrounded by a beautiful ocean. But anything that alluring has to be dangerous, how the hell did you survive for thirteen years?” Yuhye teased the younger girl, a twinkle in her eye as she messed with her. And although she was for the most part joking about it, part of her was actually scared of Australia because it’s wild life could be extremely dangerous and some animals that were normally small were large and could horrify someone into a heart attack. It was one country that Yuhye never wanted to actually go back to, in fact whenever she went there for concerts part of her was always anxious and panicked a lot when she saw animals. Which wasn’t how the brunette normally was, but Australia reminded her how dangerous animals actually were and it was her worst dream, seeing animals be three times larger than they were supposed to be. She made a disgusted face when Hyeri had mentioned the ages between her and the guy who had tried to kiss the young version of her. “In that case, I hope he didn’t know how to swim and accidentally broke his leg or something from the fall. Also, if he ever tries to bother you again, I’ll fly him to Canada just to beat his ass into the ground.” Yuhye shrugged, “So what if it takes all day? That means I get to spend time with my best friend, which isn’t something we get to do often!” The brunette bit down on her bottom lip and moved so that she was behind her friend, her arms wrapped tightly around Hyeri’s waist as she rested her cheek on the other’s shoulder. Once upon a time a long long time ago, Hyeri had opened up to Yuhye about what life was like pre MK and she had felt so bad for the younger one. Sure, the Kwon’s had suffered but that felt like nothing compared to what the Park children had gone through with their parents — or lack there of in their mother’s case. “Now the real question is, did the police catch you?”
“Ah, my dear Yuhye, you’re forgetting that I’m a kickass ninja raised in Blacktown, Sydney, Australia. Raised around not only dangerous animals but also dangerous people.” She laughed playfully, once again making light of her situation growing up. She’d grown to do that a lot, hadn’t she? “’Anything alluring has to be dangerous’?” Hyeri repeated with a cheeky grin as she turned to look at her best friend. “Does that count me?” Here, the younger girl would flip her long hair in a way that could either been seen as flirty or self obsessed to a stranger but Hyeri knew that Yuhye knew she was just playing around. “I’m kidding, I’m kidding.” It was kind of odd for her, knowing that Yuhye was slightly scared of her country and it’s wildlife. Not that she could blame her, if she hadn’t grown up in Australia, she would probably be scared of the wildlife too. “Now you see why I hoped he fell on his head... but, alas, he didn’t. And don’t worry, I don’t think he will. But thank you.” she laughs, reaching out to poke the older woman’s cheek. “You have a good point. I wish we got to spend more time together, it feels like it’s been forever since we last got to do this.” The brunette frowns, leaning back against her friend instinctively when she wrapped her arms around her waist and rested her cheek against Hyeri’s shoulder. It felt like it’d been ages ago when Hyeri had finally opened up about her past to Yuhye, but she didn’t regret doing it. Not at all. It had helped the two become closer in a way, a lot closer, and for that she was thankful. “No, they didn’t, actually.” she laughed. “Woobin and I managed to get home by taking a short cut that only the kids raised in Blacktown knew about. Those inner city cops never had any chance.” She laughed.
“Don’t apologize.” Hyeri smiled softly, her gaze drifting from Insoo down to his nephew. She knew all too well what it was like, she had a younger sister herself and whilst Ah Young had been a very well behaved child, she had her moments as well. All kids did. “He’s just being a kid, it’s okay. I understand. Can I hold him, maybe?”
Rubbing the little boy’s back gently, he smiled in relief at Hyeri. He was lucky that, since Daegil needed to have a little cry, it had been in front of someone who got it, not someone who would get mad a the toddler being just that–a toddler. Picking him up and standing, Insoo rocked him a little, nodding. “Yep, if you want; he seems to have calmed down a little. What do you say, buddy? You want to go say hi to Hyeri?” And with that, Insoo gently held Daegil out for Hyeri to take.
“I don’t know what’s up with him today…he’s usually so well behaved,” Insoo murmured, crouching down and pulling the toddler into his arms. It wasn’t rare for Insoo to take his nephew to the company building, but Daegil was a quiet, well behaved kid. Crying and tantrums were rare. “I’m sorry you have to see this. I’ll take him out to the car or something….”
“Don’t apologize.” Hyeri smiled softly, her gaze drifting from Insoo down to his nephew. She knew all too well what it was like, she had a younger sister herself and whilst Ah Young had been a very well behaved child, she had her moments as well.
