“I personally love it,” Brandi replied with a smile. “To see something I wrote and composed performed by someone who does it way more justice than I would have; it’s very satisfying. And I love making things especially for someone. Like, tailoring a song to their skills.”

“that’s an interesting point of view... my favorite thing in the whole world is to write, so if someone’s favorite thing to do is singing, then it’s just perfect to match these two things, right?” she knows she’s half asking half just trying to assure herself, but still she smiles at the other, happy someone had taken their time to answer to her silly thoughts.

“if the songs you write are personal to you, i can see why you’d think it was sad but i mean–– you’re a songwriter, right?”

“sorry, i think that came out wrong.” she chuckles awkwardly. “i am, i just once knew a person who would say it is indeed a depressing job, so i wanted to know how other people felt about it.” hana nods trying to force herself into making some sense. “hmm... i’m not sure if i’ve seen you before, i’m sorry, that’s kinda rude, i know, are you a trainee?”

alice tapped her chin, in thought “i mean, i guess you would be sad to see your work sung by someone else who doesn’t appreciate it and butchers the music,” she paused, “but if they sing it well and how you imagined it to be sung, i don’t think so.”

“i think so too, it’s just... i kinda needed someone else’s opinion on this matter.” hana sighs before looking up to see who had answered to her babbling, only to widen her eyes seeing it was one of the vocalists for spades, “i mean, i do think it’s an honor to have people with such beautiful voices singing my stuff.” she tries to make things better, looking down once more not to expose how ashamed she was.

“hm,” jie furrows his eyebrows, shaking his head tentatively and pursing his lips before turning to the girl, “i don’t think so. maybe if the lyrics were clearly personal? i wouldn’t call that depressing, though.”

she can’t help but sound a bit surprised with the reply, showing the other a quick smile, “that’s true...” she lets her voice trail with a slow nod. “thank you for the answer, i really needed that!” looking at all the people getting ready and not wanting to let the conversation die, hana decides to take advantage and ask away other things that got her curious, “do you get nervous before going on stage? like, even after so many times?”
