“This thing has really turned into a shit show, don’t you think?” Yenni watched the crowds of worthless faces with dissatisfied eyes, a click of her tongue following soon after. It was one thing to be hospitable, but another to let anyone and everyone run over your territory. Had it been her, she would have handled the vermin problem before it even happened– but again, had it been her, she wouldn’t be sharing her kingdom with even supposed Royalty. Being granted the title didn’t necessarily mean they were deserving of it, nor did it mean they were worth wasting kindness on, something she was fond of proving time and time again. With a dramatic sigh, she draped Gabriel’s arm across her shoulders as they walked. She was cold, he was bigger and warmer– it wasn’t as if he would have any protests, she was sure. “I think we should do some cleaning up for Soojung-ah since she’s incompeten– incapable of doing it herself. Unless you have something more interesting in mind, I’m all ears.”

“I don’t even recognize half of these unfortunate faces.” Whether it had to do with the fact that they were truly nobody worth knowing or that he had been so focused on his work and studies, Gabriel wasn’t really sure. It was annoying to have to share what was supposed to be a few days of relaxation with people who would surely crash his good mood straight into the ground. Yenni’s obvious animosity on the subject was enough to cause an amused chuckle to slip from his mouth, broad shoulders shrugging casually. “Ah, my love. Didn’t you know that my years of terrorizing the masses have been left behind?” It’d been a while since Gabriel just ‘’got rid’’ of someone for the hell of it. These days he acted out in a way that was calculated and was kept in secret. He squeezed her shoulder, free hand lifting to run across his bottom lip. “I mean... we could always just set fire to this place. It’s not as fancy as it used to be.” Or maybe it was just the fact that he had been to nicer resorts since the beginning of this whole tradition. “Admittedly all of my work has been brought along with me, I can’t really spare any more time than necessary.”

Sadly, these are not tacos but with it comes a promise that I'll treat you out to some Mexican food sometime soon. ^u^

He shakes his head, knowing Gabriel was right. As captain, Gabriel had the power to make that happen. “Look, I’ll talk to my teacher about it to see. I know it’s my fault for getting suspended for these next two games,” he said with a sight putting his sandwich down. He had gone in way to hard for a tackle and got a red.

“Oh look! Exactly what I wanted to hear. Someone finally owning up to their shit.” He tried to fight the smirk from finding home on his lips but he ultimately failed. That was literally all Gabriel was waiting for. Shinkai needed to realize that this was his doing and that HE had to find a way around it. “That’s a good place to start. Next you should pick up your slack, maybe then you’ll get to eventually play.”

Mirasol simply let out a hum of approval, waiting for the other to get ready.  It was nice to have someone reliable to boss around, especially when that someone happened to hold quite a bit of power himself.  The lower members of the student body were easy to take charge of, but not quite as entertaining.  Knowing that she had some form of control over one of the most popular students on campus was comforting for the girl.  “Simple shining armor doesn’t quite cut it,” she explained with a small wink.  The ruler’s sudden whine brought about a chuckle, constantly amused by the reactions she received from him.  She could spend all day teasing him and never get bored of it.  “Two whole days, and you haven’t burst yet?  Are you sure you don’t want my help with that?  That can’t be healthy for a body that’s so used to it to just stop so suddenly.”  Quirking an eyebrow in his direction, she gave him a look of confusion before glancing down at her outfit.  While he probably wouldn’t have noticed, this was daywear, not nightwear.  “I obviously need to go home and change first.  We’ll stop by the apartment and then get going.”

Gabriel paused, mentally kicking himself in the ass upon realizing that he was genuinely considering it. He wasn’t intending on causing World War III, especially in the midst of all his troubles. He nodded softly, eyes probably revealing his inner thoughts as he smiled weakly. “48 hours and counting. But yeah, I’m sure.” If she was any other woman... literally anyone else that wasn’t practically Yenni’s right hand, then he’d be oh-so willing. Gabriel slid his jacket on, eyes falling to look at the clothes she was wearing. He wanted to make a comment about how he saw nothing wrong with them but that wasn’t territory he wanted to veer into. Gabriel was’t really down to hear about how this didn’t go with that and so on. “I.. uh, yeah okay.” He nodded a few times, scooping his keys off of the table. “Then let’s go, we’re wasting time.”

ஐ~ “Nope, I haven’t.” She admitted with a slight pout, brown locks falling over her shoulder as she shook her head. “But I don’t really mind, I go anywhere as long as the food is good so you don’t have to worry about me at all, oppa.” Truthfully, she actually loved the idea of exploring and eating at places that weren’t known to be frequented by people in their societal class but never found the time to visit any of them until now. In between her tennis and cheerleading training, work for the university student government and her activities being continuously monitored by her father and his people, she really had very little time to herself, let alone do any of the things she really wanted to do. 

“You sound like you’ve been there a lot though.” She noted with a chuckle, glancing at him from where she sat beside him on the passenger seat. Unlike her, Gabriel seemed to live such a carefree life and this was something she envied and at the same time, admired about him. He actually seemed happy– or at least, at peace– with the way his life was playing out while she seemed to constantly be drowning in the problems life threw at her. “I wish I could easily go out to places I want to go to.”

“Figures, it’s a dive kind of thing. Most people avoid it because it looks a bit questionable buuut,” Gabriel wasn’t really the type to judge MOST books by their covers but even more so when it came to restaurants. Unless they got low ratings in their health inspections... then he was always willing to give them a try. “They’ve got amazing authentic Mexican food and they do this Korean fusion thing too! It’s amazing.” He grinned to himself, hands gripping the steering wheel as he maneuvered the way out of the lot. Gabriel adjusted the rearview mirror as he chuckled softly, “if only I could find a Korean, Greek, and Mexican fusion restaurant. I’d be in heaven.” But then again he had trouble finding Greek restaurants period.

“I go there every now and then, I’d go more often but I’m almost always on a diet and it’s a bit out of my way.” What would a man of his ranking be doing in that part of town? There was only a few plausible answers and none of them were good for his image - but luckily he was just a major foodie. “Ah, I...” He didn’t know what to say. Was there anything he could say to comfort her anyways? Growing up his parents were a lot less strict with him than they were with Risa and all of that had to do with the fact that he was born male. But in her case she was her parent’s little girl AND the only child. “Maybe when you get a little older.” Although he had an inkling age wouldn’t change her circumstances.

Yenni simply raised an eyebrow at him, another moment where she was starting to question to what extent he was actually joking. After hearing the same old shit for three years straight, she’d stopped taking him seriously, but certain things he said left her wondering. “Yeah, let’s go right now then.” She responded, zero emotion in her face to indicate whether she was playing along with him. “I’ll call up my moms, they’ll be on the next plane out. I don’t want a priest, or I may start to burn up in his presence. And if your real arranged wife pops up and starts some shit, I’m killing her and saying you told me to do it.” She rested her chin in one of her hands, staring him down in an attempt to read his face. “I can do whatever the hell I want, thank you very much.” It’s a simple reminder– he could run the whole world if he wanted to, but between the two of them, she was the boss. “Whatever, that’s bullshit. He’s just mad I didn’t take the stance he kept preaching in class. Can’t wait for that man to retire– or kick the bucket, I don’t care which happens first.”

Gabriel dug through his pockets for a few seconds, fingers curling around his cellphone as he tugged it out into the open. “Right now? I can make it happen.” He jokingly scrolled through his phone, wondering if google could hook him up with a few ministers in their area. After a few moments he locked his phone and placed it on the table, linking his hands together as he glanced at her, “they have an open slot in an hour. Ready to become Mrs. Kwon?” Gabriel chuckled, “don’t even talk about her - I can’t stand the fact that my parents even suggested an arranged marriage.” He didn’t want to spend any more time dwelling over it, head shaking as he physically pushed the thought from his head. He didn’t bother to argue the fact, Yenni did as Yenni pleased. ”Want me to rough him up a little? It’s the least I can do for the love of my life.”

With a stubborn huff, Yenni rolls her eyes in response. It would just be a waste of breath for her to continue her bitching, and she’s still somewhat opposed to decking him despite how often she threatens to. “This isn’t my choice, I’d be running streets like I’ve been doing if I wouldn’t get cut off for it. You’re not ready to marry me now, are you?” Part of her doesn’t even want to hear what his answer might be, especially once he winks at her. “Hah. Keep dreaming, baby boy, maybe one day you’ll get lucky.” She’s willing to spend a moment playing around with him, but her mind quickly goes back to worrying about the note that’s now in his possession. “What’s it say? He put it in my last paper but it doesn’t sound related to the paper. I don’t know. This shit is so hard to understand.”

He didn’t even need another moment to contemplate, he was certain. “I’m ready to marry you now.” Gabriel said, trying to keep his expression playful. This is the girl that he’d been in love with since his third year at Mokwon. He’d do anything she asked of him, even if she didn’t believe it. He shrugged, “yeah - I’m counting on that one day. You can’t make me wait forever.” His eyes fall back down to the chicken scratch occupying the corner of her paper. Gabriel handed the sheets back over to her. “It is, he’s saying that you’re showing too much bias even if it’s just underlying. Otherwise everything else is flawless.” At least that’s the conclusion he came to, having read the note out of context.

“I was never much of a Chanel girl myself,” Mirasol retorted, her irritation slowly fading into the background as he began to pay more attention to her.  If he had gone just five more seconds without giving her the proper response, she would have left him for one of his cheaper versions.  They didn’t necessarily get the job done perfectly, but it was better than being ignored.  She waited for the response that she wanted, knowing that it was going to follow up his initial ‘no’.  Since the day they had met, he showed concern about her well-being.  And while she didn’t need him to follow her around and make sure she stayed out of serious trouble, it was nice to have a walking credit card that just so happened to be pretty damn attractive.  It was just a plus that she actually enjoyed most of the time that they spent together.  A smirk creeping onto her lips, she mirrored his posture, “I knew I could count on you.  My little knight in diamond armor.”  Sliding her arms across her chest, she nodded her head slightly, “Maybe I’ll even be in the mood to repay you for your services.”

“You didn’t strike me as the type anyways.” It wasn’t an insult, just an observation. What was Gabriel going to do? He was wrapped around one girl’s delicate finger and being yanked in the opposite direction by the other. It was a surprise to him that he hadn’t gone insane yet. “Yeah, yeah,” he was on the verge of adding a ‘don’t get used to it’ but it was a little too late for that. “I like that thought - knight in diamond armor. It has a certain ring to it.” With a small grunt Gabe got up, eyes glancing around as he tried to locate his coat. “Aigoooo, don’t say things like that Mirasol.” His tone took on a bit of stern tone, eyes playfully narrowed at her. “You’re going to ruin my pact of celibacy. I’ve made it to two days without sexual contact with a woman.” Hands wrapped around his coat, lifting it off of the chair it was draped over. “Are you ready to go then? Or.. is there something you need to do first?”

“Showing up and playing with those injuries was just stupidity on your part. You’re lucky you did not get hurt,” He said, knowing Gabriel wasn’t entirely wrong with what he said. He could cut the end of his class for the week, but he’d rather not. “Look, I’d rather not cut class unless absolutely necessary. Besides, he already said I’m not playing in the next two games anyhow,” he points out.

“I wouldn’t say it was stupidity.” Gabriel sucked in a small breath, eyebrows creasing as he tried to come up with a better word to describe his poor choices. “I’d say it was determination.” And that didn't even begin to cover it. He was certain he’d show up to practice early even if he was in a full body cast. Absolutely nothing could stop him. “I’m not lucky, it really wasn’t a big deal.” Gabriel sighed, eyes falling shut. “Then why do you need me to talk to him then? He’ll get over it if you’re not playing anyways. But just know that you’ll probably get benched for two more games as well.”

ஐ~ “Should I consider myself lucky to be treating you out like this then?” Adrienne felt her cheeks flushing despite the teasing tone of her voice; she wasn’t used to being so carefree and playful around people–especially those older than her much like how Gabriel was– so this kind of thing was oddly refreshing. She could only chuckle in response to his teasing, it was hard to believe that she used to be so intimated of him. “No worries, you’re in good hands, sunbae.” 

They continued on like that with their playful banter until they reached his vehicle– the sight of which had her eyes widening in amazement. She did not know cars in the same way that most of the male population did but showing appreciation for them seemed like a pretty standard thing. The smell of leather was the first thing that hits her when she slides into the car and she can’t help but grin at his words. “Does it have anything to do with Angelina Jolie?” She joked, pulling on the seat belt and strapping herself in. “This car suits you. You’re like a match made in car heaven.”

His first thought was to answer with a confident ‘yes’, not many people got a chance to spend time with Gabriel - much less intimately. These days he liked to keep to himself, it was the best way to keep himself focused on the future. Instead he just shrugged, a subtle smirk working at his lips. He was quick to wipe it off of his face, teeth sinking down onto is bottom lip. Maybe he should just play the act of a modest man. That role consisted of nodding and just going along with whatever it was that she said, it wasn’t like he disagreed anyways. 

“Hell yeah, you betcha.” He chuckled, body stepping into his vehicle. Nimble fingers grabbed at the seatbelt, buckling up quickly with ease. Gabriel pulled the door down, moving to insert the keys into the ignition. He pushed to start, one hand on the gear shift as he put the car into reverse. “I’m driving us to Gusto Taco, it’s sort of rundown - at least to us, but they’ve got some of the best tacos around.” Every other taco spot was usually filled to the brim with people and Gabriel wasn’t in the mood to wait around for a bite to eat. “Have you ever been there? I mean I figure you haven’t but... I shouldn’t be so quick to assume.”

Shin Kai looks at him with his sandwich halfway to his mouth with a look of wonder at his Captain’s lack of understanding. “Gabriel, i need you to explain to coach why I’m gonna be late for practices for the next week due to a requirement in one of my education classes. I already tired to talk to him but he isn’t backing down”. He takes a bite of his sandwich and eats it before continuing. “Look, you’ve known him longer then I have,” he said flatly.

“And why should I have to make up excuses for your slack?” Gabriel’s eyebrow rose in question, arms crossed over his chest as he leaned orward. “I’ve showed up to practice with a dislocated shoulder... sprained ankle...” He listed them off, falling short at a third point so he just dropped it. “And I made it on time. So I’m sure you could find a way to show up to practice on time.”

There went all of the efforts Mirasol had made to play nice.  What was the point of hanging around rich men if they weren’t going to listen to you?  Aside from the obvious, of course.  “Clearly, my words aren’t making it very far in that thick skull of yours.  If you have something better to think about, which I highly doubt, then I’ll gladly spend my time with one of your carbon copies wandering around campus.”  Okay, maybe that wouldn’t be as interesting, but she wasn’t about to sit here and be ignored; not when she looked this good.  Maybe he was having an off day, but that didn’t make up for the irritation that she was beginning to feel.  Still, she took a deep breath and tried again, “Do you want to go out tonight or not?  You can do your sober, sitting-alone-at-the-bar thing if you want.  I just don’t feel like being harassed by creeps today.”

“Where’s the fun in mooching off of one my carbon copies? It’s like buying knockoff Chanel, you’re better than that Mirasol.” He swallowed the snort that threatened to escape. She wasn’t wrong. No. Even as Gabriel tried to ignore them... he wasn't blind to all the guys running around Mokwon trying their damn hardest to be him. It was flattering in some pathetic way. “Do I want to go out tonight?” He didn’t even have to think about it, humming before he answered with a quick - “no.” He sighed, running the palms of his hands down his face. “Am I going to because I’ll worry otherwise?” A slight pause, “yes.” He smacked his lips together, sitting up with a groan. “And don’t give me shit about how you can handle yourself... I know you can.” It was in his nature, having a younger sister and all. It wasn’t like he could help it. Gabriel had feelings too.

Typically, Yenni’s more willing to humor Gabriel’s abrasive ways, but today isn’t one of those days. The past week of all nighters and studying has left her more irritated than usual, if that’s somehow even possible, and being stuck with notes from her law professor that she can’t even decipher doesn’t help her mood any.  “It will have to do with you if you keep all loose at the lips,” she growls as a warning, one fist curled up in a ball out of frustration, though under the table therefore out of his line of view. “Look, just shut up and read this paper for me. I have a headache and I’m tired and I can’t figure out what the fuck it says. I ask one fucking thing of you and you somehow always find a way to make me contemplate homicide, Jesus fuckin’ Christ.”

“Ah, my darling Yenni. Always so charming.” He can sense her irritation and he knows it’s no joke but when was Gabriel ever known to stop pushing? However, the black eye he was sporting for the past week just cleared up and the last ting he needed was another one. “I don’t know why you bother with all this school shit,” he mutters, hand reaching out to grab the object causing her annoyance. “Just marry me. I’m filthy rich and willing to let you suck me dry.” He winks, knowing that she’d get the double entendre. Gabriel’s eyes narrow as he scans the paper, lips quick to recite the barely legible sentences. Lucky for her the writing was similar to that of his father.

ஐ~ Hearing him speak so passionately about tacos had her laughing in no time, the sound so carefree and at ease despite the fact that she had insisted on being so formal around him just minutes ago. “I love tacos.” She admits, fingers coming up to cover her lips after the hearty laugh she was doing earlier. It was obvious that he was merely teasing her but she figured that it would not hurt to divulge such information about herself for she did love tacos and Mexican cuisine. “It seems that’s something we both have in common. And yes, I guess, dinner is on me too.” 

Their conversation about the specific type of food is cut short when they walk out of the cafe and stand out in the school driveway. All around them, students were talking and walking about with their own sets of friends so no one really paid them any attention– something she was thankful for. “We don’t have to take your car, oppa. I don’t want to be a bother to you so we can most definitely use mine.” She was smiling as she dug her hands into the pockets of her coat and shivered a little from the chill of the afternoon winter breeze. “But, I leave the decision up to you. I have nothing else planned for the day so I’m pretty much going with whatever it is you want to do.”

“As you should.” Seriously, who didn’t love tacos? There was an endless possibility of taco fillings, everyone could find something that they loved. And Gabriel... he was a rather passionate individual when it came to tacos. He nodded, chuckling as he gripped his keys tightly in the palm of his hand. “Now that’s the stuff I like to hear. It’s nice to get wined and dined every once in a while. I’m tired of people only using me for my body and money.” Gabriel teased, arm bending at the elbow as he reached out to nudge at her. 

He shook his head, finding her words to be rather... cute. “It’s not a bother, truly. I’m used to driving myself everywhere. It’d be weird to be in the passenger’s seat for once.” Gabriel grinned, finger pointing in the direction of his car - parked neatly in the corner of the school’s lot. “Not to mention I’m trying to break in my new car...” He didn’t mean to gloat but... As they got closer his grin grew tenfold, digits quick to press the unlock button on his keyset. He pulled open the passenger door to his shining black BMW i8, stepping back to allow her to slide in. “Her name’s Jolie,” because she’s as sexy as Angelina but he figured she’d reach the conclusion on her own.

“I’m not understanding... what does this have to do with me?” Over the course of the years Gabriel has grown to become a patient person, okay not really, but he’s tried his damn hardest to. (It’s something he’s inherited from his dearest father. Impatience and not-giving-a-shit syndrome). At the very least he can pretend like he actually cares about someone else’s issues and daily woes. “Are you asking for my advice? Do you want me to do something about it? If so, I might just have to charge for my services.”
