āYouāve got my attention. Are you just going to stand there or are you going to do something with it?ā
Sorry, I donāt recall addressing you.

Yes, he told me. Well, if you can meet me in a few that'd be fine. I'll be finished with rounds soon and I can take a couple of hours to relax by the Lake. xo Rose P.S.- The drink is fine with me, but you'll be the only one having some tonight.
Yeah.
I ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-hate this world, people are toooo duuuumbā¦
--flawed, maybe.
By all means. I appreciate the truth, no matter how blunt.Ā
Iām--really quite good at being nonmagical, actually. Iāve never felt like I was missing anything. I have plans. Iāve never felt--lesser--for it.
Is there a charm or something to silence peoplesā chewing noises? Because I could really use that at the moment.
Iām afraid youāre asking the wrong person.
Ah. { He pauses. } Do you want to be hereā really? Or do you wish you never transferred?Ā
Attending Hogwarts wasnāt a part of my academic plan. If I may be frank.
āThose are the best kind,ā he replied assuredly, before continuing diplomatically,Ā āthough I donāt think I ever saw one that I didnāt like.ā
āThat being said,ā he confided, āIām not sure any one will ever measure up to the ones I had in France. Things are different there. You seem like youād fit in.ā
What makes you say that?
Weāve both kind of tried that already. But⦠People are stupid. And motivated largely by fear. I guess we canāt trust ourselves enough to interact with people different than us. And I guess thatās because itās⦠a privilege weāve lost.
I wonāt claim to be savvy about magical history, but the principle has truth to it. Humanity proves it time and time again.
It is, a bit. Language can be funny though. Have you ever tried googling the word squib? To Muggles, itās a type of firework. So then you have to wonder if the word started with wizards or with Muggles or if both just developed the same word with totally different meanings.Ā
Or if, perhaps, one or the other repurposed the word to suit their own cultural needs. To Muggles, squibs are fireworks that are smaller and weaker, or that donāt explode whatsoever. Duds. To magical folk, squibs are essentially, for lack of a better term, dud wizards.
Normally Iād let people row, itās their business but that one was unnecessary. It was an awful thing to witness, I had to do something.
I donāt get why people just canāt be nice, itās not hard.
It was unnecessary. You were rather courageous to intervene.
A little owl told me you haven't gotten around to seeing the Giant Squid. How about you and I sneak some butterbeers by the Great Lake and go sea creature watching? A little cousin bonding is much needed. xo Rose

back from hiatus!!! fuck midterms!!! I think Iām going to drop most of my threads that arenāt part of a plotted interaction, Iāll be hopping on starters before the day is doneĀ šø
āFor what?ā he cocked his head to the side, swiping his parchments to the side with his forearm, as he continued, āI donāt remember France very much. Just flashes. Dining in with escargot and baguettes and buying macarons for the walk home.ā
He blushed, remembering,āTheyāre still my favorite.ā
Oh, itās--not often I get carried away.Ā
I knew a girl in primary whose parents owned a French bakery. Sheād bring little treats for us from time to time, thatās how I first encountered macarons.Ā
I had a blue one, with vanilla bean filling. Theyāre still my favorite, too.
Thatās okay.
I think Iāve only just now realized this is a privilege.
I think itās because people are afraid that everyone would kill each other.
Ć la--ethnic cleansing?
