a yawn slipped past his lips, and he made a lazy attempt to cover it with his hand as he cut the engine. it was still too early for him, but he agreed to drive chrissy to school this morning, something about an early practice before homeroom. did he believe that? no, mainly because he couldn't fathom the idea of showing up before the first bell.
"gonna leave me all alone- that's kinda cold, cunningham," he teased, turning to look at her. the smell of old leather, tobacco, and stetson filled the van as he leaned back in his seat. he extended his arm, hand now resting on her knee. "wanna know what i think?" eddie flipped his hand, palm facing upward in a silent attempt to get her to hold it. "you should skip practice so we can go back to bed."
he had to admit, though, he had to give her props for getting up at the crack of dawn to get all dolled up. she looked amazing this morning, and she smelled so good, and-- before he knew it, he was leaning over to kiss her, confident enough that he could get chrissy to stay.
lips centimeters apart, eddie's sleepy brain could only focus on one thing; however, the knock at the window derailed his train of thought, a wave of annoyance washing over him. henderson's voice, albeit muffled, rattled the window as he tried to get their attention. "don't acknowledge him," he whispered. "maybe he'll go away if we pretend he's not there."
