When I'm tired I will just sit in bed pretending I don't have work until it gets closer and closer to when I need to set off. One day I definitely will be late.

To lovely humans who were excluded from invitations, left behind when they tied their shoes, forced to walk in the grass when the sidewalk was full, spoken over when you tried to contribute, whispered about or laughed at, given side-eye when you tried to fit in…. you are so worthy of love.
these goofy photos of audrey brisson & chris jared from when amelie was re-opening on the west end… 🥺🥺🥺
i’m like ‘why am i having so many migraines at the moment idk’ and also not sleep, eat, drink, exercise properly, as well as staring at my phone constantly.
When Jesus was on the cross, trying desperately to breathe, gasping for air, what do you think He was thinking? Do you think He was thinking back to His prayer in the Garden of Gethsemane? How He wanted to get out of it, now that He is right in the middle of the pain? Was He yet again asking God the same request?
I imagine that He is saying to Himself, “I need to endure this, because one day he will be saved. So that one day, she will know she is free. I need to do this because on that day, he will give his life to Me and I can walk with him. So that one day, she will know how much I love her.”
I imagine that He thought of every single one of us as He was bleeding and tiring out on that cross, thinking about how to love us. All that pain and mockery? Absolutely worth it if He gets to save us. He didn’t care what He had to give up as long as He gets the chance to have our hearts.
And I’m wrecked by that.
it’s missing amélie hours again
(anyone have some super exciting amélie videos that i probably won’t have seen? feels like i’ve watched all of the content under the sun :))))
i get that the whole premise of cinderella is girl turned princess but i would have loved to see the prince’s reaction if ella had turned up to the ball in her pink dress. would he have recognised her? would he still have danced with only her? what would the king have done? if the fairy godmother had just fixed her pink dress and made sure that her step-family didn’t recognise her, would it have happened in the same way?
going to call Torvald Helmer just Torvald in my essays solely because i know it would really annoy him
as much as I'm enjoying wcth s3 I can already tell the writers were running out of ideas... how is it supposed to go on like that for 9 seasons??
this is absolute facts. wcth peaked a series 1 i think, though series 2 and 3 were appreciated by me back in the day. the wait for them to get married followed almost immediately by *spoiler*? unnecessary. every time i see a ‘wcth has been renewed for another series’ i’m like, ‘how?!’. surely everything that could possibly happen has happened? also everything has become progressively less early 1900s Canada, and even less anything like the original books (of which there are 6, and even that is quite a lot). maybe time for bigger and better things?
thus endeth my opinions.
They were under no illusions. The glittering chandeliers, the gold mirrors with their draped acanthus leaves, the plangent violins might be the stuff of romance, but this was no romance. It was a moment in a lifeboat before it sank beneath the waves; a walk across the sunlit courtyard towards the firing squad. This waltz was all they had. - Eva Ibbotson, The Secret Countess
i’m obsessed with the trope of couples in conflict not saying anything to each other. like in Belfast (2021), the scene when Ma and Buddy are taken by Billy and his pals and then Pa and Will run round the corner and suddenly it’s just them staring at each other from across the street. how ma and pa look at each other wordlessly and then pa throws that brick or whatever it was. also the bit after when they huddle round each other in a doorway, with ma and buddy first, then pa and will running to be with them. idk it’s cute.
Okay, someone else may have already said this but how AWESOME is it that when Henry proposes, he gives Margaret a rose but they're like surrounded by roses and it means basically nothing that he picked it for her. BUT when Mr Thornton gives Margaret a rose, it was one of the last in Helstone AND he brought it all the way back with him... That's cinematography at its finest
still thinking about this. i'd like to add how cool it is that in her first train journey up to milton, she holds a rose and in her last train journey back up to milton (with mr t in tow) she would be evidently holding a rose too. v cool :).

hate being the generation that remembers no ads on YouTube & the annoyance when we first saw 1 ad every 10 videos, then 1 every 5 videos, then on every video, then multiple ads within a single video, only for YouTube to market paying for Premium™️ to ‘get rid of ads!’ which weren’t even there at the start
I hate being the generation that remembers when I could easily find episodes of anime and whole ass movies on YouTube.
Hate being the generation that remembers when YouTube videos would buffer when you pause them, allowing the entire video to load and let you watch it without interruption even on slow connections.
do... do youtube videos not do the buffer thing anymore??

Surely everyone knows the tale by now: Susan Pevensie used to be a queen, until one day she forgot. Oh, she swore she wouldn’t, but she did. Susan knows who she is: the second eldest of the Pevensie children; a younger sister and an older one; “the beauty” of the family. She knows this. But what of the Gentle Queen? Is she lost forever? Or is what Aslan once said still true? “Once a King or Queen, ALWAYS a King or Queen.”
Standing at 10 chapters, this is the condensed version of what I believe her story should be. Someday, I may expand on this, and make it a full novel. For now, it is more general than that. This is a story of faith, and loss, and grief, and joy, and I sincerely hope you enjoy it. It is, quite possibly, the most important thing I’ll ever write. <3
Bringing this back around because according to my Facebook memories, I finished writing FFHG four years ago today. 😭❤️ It is still very much the short version of what I think Susan’s story should be, but it is still a meaningful expression of the things I believe, and I am so grateful to have received such passionate feedback from people who loved what I had to say. I hope if you haven’t already, you might give it a chance now! And if you have read it before, you have my most heartfelt thanks! 🥰
i'm, like, sobbing. the bit where Susan reads Lucy's bible!! made me realise how my own bible could be more like me, instead of just a book that i read!! amazinggl!! wonderful!! so glad Susan finally has the ending that she deserves.
i'm loving this [redacted] stuff, i feel like i'm receiving a censored letter from a loved one in the middle of world war two
