One thing I ask from the Lord,
this only do I seek:
that I may dwell in the house of the Lord
all the days of my life,
to gaze on the beauty of the Lord
and to seek him in his temple.

It’s all a matter of perspective, right? Angels in every tree?!? Yes, please!! 🙏🏼
A Prayer Life turned 5 today! Thank you to everyone who follow moderndayprayerjournal!Â
See the leaves dancing with the sun in the warm breeze? I’ll never forget the lovely vibe of these beautiful mornings with my King.
Jesus, You are my King.
Why do we worry? Instead let’s look straight ahead at God, recognize His majesty and provision. He is able! He has established our way. May we have faith to know it is so and move in His will for our lives.
On this Easter morning, I pray for the church around the world, particularly those who are imprisoned, persecuted, and pressured because of their faith. Jesus, please reveal Yourself to your Bride as never before. Strengthen and increase our faith each day. May the power of the Holy Spirit move us to service and prayer forevermore. Amen.
What a precious event we celebrate today. Certainly the resurrection of our Lord is the foundation of our salvation. Jesus, our redeemer, our Savior, our King. Words can’t convey the gratitude we feel, Lord. May the lives we live be an indication of our love and thankfulness for You.
If we never receive another thing, to have received Your love is enough.
Whatever mountain you are facing—lift your eyes and look up higher. Jesus is there. See His face above all your mountains.
Christmas is not about all of this. Christmas is about Jesus. The world has pretty much pushed Him out of the way. Let’s not fall into that same trap. Jesus is not merely the reason for the season: He is before all things, and in him ALL things hold together (Colossians 1:17). Yes, come, let us adore Him, Christ our Lord. Merry Christmas.
I may be adrift, going my own way, tattered and torn, but the wind of the Spirit is charting my course, despite me. Oh Lord, every morning.
No words. RIP Sonny.
Wow! Here goes my unpopular opinion. With all the uproarious flag-waving and “boycott the NFL” noise out there, one like me can only imagine an uncertain future in this country. Somehow I can see these so-called patriots reviving activities such as “tar and feathers,” pitchforks, being “run out on a rail” or even worse punishment for nonconformity. They are clamoring for their way or no way, shrieking “get out of my country if ya don’t wanna stand or pledge allegiance.”
I’m not new to this issue. I haven’t said the pledge of allegiance for over a decade. I do stand, but I don’t place my hand on my heart or speak the words. My King is Jesus, He is not an American, and I pledge allegiance to Him alone to the best of my ability. I don’t take oaths and I don’t pledge allegiance. Just my personal choice. I don’t condemn those who do, I’m a “live and let live” kind of person. Now that this issue has become a big deal, I suppose I shouldn’t be surprised if I’m accosted at the local middle school football game. But that’s ok…I have the courage of my convictions.
Actions speak louder than words. Being a so-called “patriot” should require more than boycotting the NFL. But to each their own. I strongly believe these days of enforced nationalism, thought control, newspeak, and the selective erasing of history are paving the way to terrible times. I know the Truth will prevail so I will choose not to be too upset by all the rambling noise out there. Love and prayers for our country.
I've often felt You in the wind, seen You in the strength and power of the wind. I've felt You in the comfort of a breeze, heard You whisper among the leaves rustling in the trees. I feel You here in this place. Lord, blow my boarded up spirit wide open. Amen.
Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness. ~Lamentations 3:22-23
Meditation: Here is the inevitable destiny of our bodies. What about our spirit? Where will it dwell? Romans 6:23 says for the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Why do so many reject the gift of God? Where will your spirit dwell?
