I have always known God. From an early age He placed Jesus in my life. We never went to church, we never read the Bible, yet I was found. Because He loves us all & is there for us all. We are the ones who are meant to find Him. He leaves clues all around us to find, but it's up to us to open our eyes & our hearts to Him. There were times within the past 15 years (all my life really) that I didn't understand why I had to be in so much pain. Why did I have to lose my voice for 9 months? Why did I have to endure those surgeries & difficult recoveries? Why did I have to use a walker? Why couldn't I drive? Why was my life so hard? Why did terrible things always happen? Why did my son have to be premature & sick? Sometimes I questioned. Sometimes I knew He thought I was strong enough to endure it all & more. Even when I doubted my own. Sometimes I knew it was a test, yet others I begged for relief & a way out. I didn't think that I could take much more. Our troubles are a part of our chosen paths. Without it we would not be who we are. We must go through each trial, whether good or bad , to see how we react to it & how we come out of it. I'd like to think that I passed my test. I pray that I haven't dissapointed Him. Even though I lost my way a few times, I found my way out eventually. And I pray that I never falter again. Because I know the tests always continue. Whatever you are going through at this moment, pray for STRENGTH but continue on. The background for this comes from a card I was sent by a friend from the mission. These past few days have been very stressful, hectic, and trying for me. So when I opened this card I almost cried. - - - For those of you that don't know, cherry blossoms are my favorite tree. I think they are so beautiful and they smell good, and just UGH. - - - When my friend sent me this, he had no idea that I liked them, but it was exactly what I needed. - - - 1 Nephi 1:20 says: ". . .But behold, I Nephi will show unto you that the tender mercies of the Lord are over all those whom he hath chosen. . ." - - - I like that little excerpt because that's something that I think I overlook frequently-the little things. But without the little things we wouldn't realize how truly great God is. - - - I know at times we think the world is burning around us, that all hope is lost and we have been abandoned by God. But I'm here to tell you that's when He is right by your side. Through thick and thin. Especially the hard parts. Like the poem "Footprints in the Sand" He is carrying us, even if we don't realize it. - - - Just like He is sending tender mercies, even if we don't realize it. Just be sure to take some time to reflect on yourself, your day, and then I promise you will see His hand in your life. - - - Be brave. Be bold. Be beautiful.
