My Morning HIIT Track Workout
Every morning before work, I make the trek to the Xaverian HS track and spend an hour doing sprints, stairs, and tabata. This workout stimulates my metabolism, wakes me up, and readies my for the long day ahead. WARM UP (5 minutes) *Calisthenics* 30m jog x6 - gradually increasing intensity up to 80% 30m high knees x2 30m butt kicks x2 30m grapevines x2 30m side shuffles x2 *Non-static stretches* Toe-touchers Hip flexor sits Quad swingers ROUND 1 (7 minutes) 100m Fartlek sprints x8 - sprint (90%) down the straight section of the track, jog at the curves; do not stop moving REST (3 minutes) ROUND 2 (4 minutes) Burpees 5x8 - set a tabata timer (20 second interval + 10 second rest interval) and do eight rounds without stopping; I usually perform 40-45 burpees REST (3 minutes) ROUND 3 (10 minutes) Stair sprints - I go from one end of the bleachers to the other four times; this is the equivalent of 800 vertical steps REST (3 minutes) ROUND 4 (4 minutes) Modified crunches - set a tabata timer and do eight rounds of the following: bring the right side of your core to your left knee and vice versa, then put your legs together and swing them towards the sky. Repeat. REST (3 minutes) ROUND 5 (8 minutes) 200m Fartlek sprints x4 COOL DOWN (10 minutes) Stretch all your muscles. Take care to really get a good stretch so you can repeat this the next day. I follow this workout with the Insanity series in the afternoon after work. After doing this regimen for three weeks (with proper dieting, of course), I have already lost close to 2 inches off my waist! Sai

Music, Summer, and the Musings of a Hopeful Romantic
Finals are over, I've turned 20, and I am revving up the Insanity 60-day program once again! I will be working in Boston this summer, but in my free time, I plan on doing so much! Here's an abbreviated list off the top of my head:
Applying for fall internships at Boston advertising agencies
Exploring the Greater Boston area by bike, MBTA, and car
Taking photographs with my film camera - LOTS of them
Writing introspective pieces for Thought Catalog
Meeting new and amazing people
Hanging out with friends in Boston
Tattoo?!?!
Oh, and music. All semester, I had people asking me about upcoming projects. Now that I have some freakin' free time, I am excited to announce my planned projects:
Perfect Songs is first up on the docket (who still uses this expression?). The EP will consist of covers of songs that either got me into songwriting or have inspired me and shaped my sound. I have always admired this slate of songs, and what better way to show my appreciation than to (try to) do them justice? Expect Perfect Songs to hit my SoundCloud in a few weeks.
An unnamed EP set to be released near the end of August. Any way you put it, Say Hey: An Introduction (my debut EP) is downright depressing - a collection of tunes lamenting and preaching despair and forlonging-ness. My new EP of original songs will be quite the turnaround. I have already started writing material, and I know wonderful experiences this coming summer will continue to inspire me, tease me, and envelop me in sheer happiness - feelings that will manifest themselves on my new record.
Here's to a wonderful summer! Expect a ton of content to be posted on my blog. But don't read it all - go out there and live a little!

May 8th: You’re ambitious and a romantic. You’re witty and determined. You’re stubborn and can be restless. You’re independent and capable. You can take things too seriously and may be too blunt in your opinions at times. You’re mysterious. You can be unpredictable and moody. You’re honest.

Never been one for horology, but this sums me up pretty much completely. I can't believe I am turning 20!
