assalamuwalaykum! dis post is for my fellow muslim brothers and sisters, along with others interested in reading this!
living in this world where influence (especially bad) is much stronger than it’s ever been, it has become much easier for us to stray away from sirat-al-mustaqeem (the straight path). I, too, am incredibly guilty and have been working hard to fix this by strengthening by Iman to become a better muslim. I wanted to share with you guys tips, as well, to help guide you inshallah 💕
1. keep a tracker for your prayers
I’ve found myself to get back into praying all of my prayers now that I’ve been tracking them in my bullet journal, alhamdoulillah. track your prayers as well after you complete everyone because it not only instills a sense of happiness in you, but brings you closer to islam as you see yourself becoming a better being.
2. read the quran in your free time
I like to read a couple pages of the quran along with translations and I’ve found myself feel very at peace and happy when reading it. It makes me feel closer to Allah (swt) and to love islam even more. I, even, learn new things, as well!
this app has helped me so much!! I originally downloaded it because my dad had it (99% of his apps are islamic ones LOL) and wanted to try it out as well. Because I have access to it anytime and anywhere, I’ve done a lot of dhikr in my free time during rides home or waiting on someone. I’m also able to read quran on there, get calls to prayer, and check the calendar!
this is something I always do without thought, however, I was reading an article on this islamic website and found that it said one of the best things muslims can (or are rewarded greatly for) is praying for others. Whenever I see someone struggling, or even someone who seems completely fine, I pray for them and wish upon them good things because we all need the help lol.
5. write down a list of sins you want to stop committing
for me it’s cursing/swearing. Every day I checkmark that sin if I’ve managed to avoid it. Keep doing so until not committing that sin has become a habit and part of your life!
I hope this helped all of you guys! This can apply outside of islam, as well, to my people out there of different religions who want to become better beings! 💛
